Chicago teachers' union chief says 'all children belong to the union'

Stacey Davis can take that comment and

Chicago Teachers Union (CTU) president Stacy Davis Gates recently said that “all children belong to” the union.

Seriously. For real.

According to the Daily Caller, Gates trashed President Trump for diminishing the power of teachers’ unions during a recent City Club Chicago event, going so far as to characterize Trump’s education agenda as a “re-litigation” of the Civil War. All while complaining about the failing state of Chicago schools.

Gates told the crowd, “The children are always ours. Every single one of them, all over the globe.” Gates then mocked parents who might disagree by saying “CTU thinks your children are its children.” She added, “Yes, we do. We do.”

No, they aren’t. They aren’t, Gates.

That view is the opposite of reality. Parents are in charge of their kids. And they pay you clowns to teach them well and respect them. Nothing less. You no more own other peoples’ kids than you own other peoples’ homes, cars, or spouses.

And what the hell is “re-litigating the Civil War” supposed to mean? Might I remind Gates that the Republican Party was founded in large part to oppose slavery, and northern states (the Union) fought to banish it. By contrast, Democrats of the 1800s thought they owned their slaves, just like Gates and her ilk think they own your kids today.

The failing state of Chicago schools is not hard to fathom. “Liberal” policies virtually guarantee that outcome. (See also: Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Minneapolis, etc.) Too many of today’s teachers just want to have sex with kids. And/or indoctrinate them. Too many other teachers want to shield students … from the truth. Far too few want to shield them from aberrant sexual practices.

As it turns out, we need a second Emancipation Proclamation. This one to free our children.

Democrats despised the original Emancipation Proclamation. They would hate this one, too.

Just another Liberal Idiot that thinks his comment has meaning?

It’s more likely than not that Iran didn’t sneak out any uranium

The current joke about the Democrats’ response to the Operation Midnight Hammer raid on Fordow is that, before the raid, the Democrats insisted that there was no imminent nuclear risk from Iran. After the raid, they immediately pivoted to claiming that the raid was so ineffective that Iran would be nuclear in a couple of months. A subset of that latter claim was that, even if the raid took out Fordow, it was pointless because the Iranians cleverly removed all of their almost fully enriched uranium in the days leading up to the raid.

A conservative analyst who writes under the name @amuse says that this last claim is nonsense. In a long X article, he explains why it’s nonsense. I recommend that you read the article, but here’s the quick rundown.

X screen grab.

Fordow is not a factory. It’s a two-billion-dollar fortress that has as its purpose “to shelter its enriched uranium.” That being the case, the starting question is why Iran, at its most vulnerable, would remove its valuable enriched uranium from “the one place specifically engineered to protect it.”

Of course—and this is me, Andrea, speaking—the superficial answer would be because Iran knew Fordow would be the target of an attack. But that’s not logical. Iran, based on 46 years of predictable American behavior, almost certainly believed that America would not attack it. It also knew that Israel lacked the bunker buster bombs that could carry out the attack. As far as the mullahs knew, the fortress was secure.

Now, back to @amuse.

What gave rise to the “uranium is gone” theory is that, on June 19 and 20, satellites saw 16 large dump trucks at Fordow. They were big trucks of the type used to haul heavy construction equipment. At the same time, bulldozers were seen installing cement covers over the airshafts. In other words (me again), the Iranians were worried that Israel would send some wicked little thing, some magical Mossad weapon, that, like something out of a Hollywood movie, could destroy the entire facility just by wiggling through the shaft.

But the key point, says @amuse, is that these trucks weren’t the special conveyances needed to carry nuclear material. Also, none of them actually drove away from the facility. Instead, they were just parked nearby.

There is no visual evidence of loading, no convoy, no escort vehicles, no attempt to obscure or evade. In short, there is no movement that even faintly resembles a uranium exfiltration.

In other words, while the concrete placement could have been a feint to make people think the Iranians were protecting existing uranium stores, the trucks weren’t transporting the uranium.

Most importantly, moving enriched uranium is an undertaking that extends far beyond having the right kind of truck:

Iran is believed to have had approximately 900 kilograms of uranium enriched to 60 percent at Fordow. That quantity, in powder form, must be stabilized into uranium oxide and then sealed into thirty separate Type B(U) containers. Each container stands four feet tall, nearly two feet wide, and weighs between 1,100 and 1,760 pounds. These are not tossed in the back of a truck like crates of fruit. They require fixed cradles, meticulous spacing of at least three to four feet to avoid criticality risks, and strict handling by trained nuclear engineers and radiation safety officers. Criticality risk arises when excessive fissile material, like enriched uranium, is placed too closely together under certain configurations, such that it could support a self-sustaining nuclear chain reaction. Even though each container is subcritical on its own, improper spacing or environmental conditions could elevate the risk. Therefore, these containers must be spaced deliberately and isolated by materials designed to absorb or block neutrons, ensuring absolute containment and safety.

Even in ideal conditions, the logistics are Herculean.

The uranium containers would have to be transported from 2,500 feet underground up to the surface. Then, the containers would need to be loaded onto special conveyances. All this would require around two dozen people and a lot of equipment. But no one and nothing were observed.

The same media that went from insisting that Iran was harmless to saying “You missed! Now it’s a killer,” is almost certainly wrong when it contends that, even if the U.S. didn’t miss, the whole exercise was pointless. But then, that’s par for the course for the American media. Its members have no interest in facts. The media are a propaganda collective intent solely on undermining the Trump administration.

By the way, as an aside, so many people were comparing the raid to Top Gun: Maverick, the 2022 Tom Cruise movie, that I went back to see the movie. I’d seen it when it first came out, and enjoyed it, but I’d forgotten most of it. It really is weirdly apropos in terms of the bombing raid, right down to dropping massive missiles into air shafts at an enemy uranium enrichment facility.

Law Prof Jonathan Turley: Majority of SCOTUS Getting Tired of ‘Histrionics And Hysteria’ on Left Side of the Court (VIDEO)

George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley appeared on the Hannity show this weekend and talked with guest host Kellyanne Conway about the drama we saw unfold on the Supreme Court this week.

Turley suggested that the majority wing of SCOTUS is tired of the antics of the leftist minority of the court.

He noted that the ‘histrionics and the hysteria’ are just too much.

Transcript via Real Clear Politics:

KELLYANNE CONWAY, “HANNITY” GUEST HOST: For anyone against unchecked government power, this was a very, very good day.

Here now with analysis, FOX News contributor Jonathan Turley.

Jonathan Turley, what an incredible day at the Supreme Court.

Let’s have you break it down. And also I think people are very curious how this does impact things like sanctuary city funding, birthright citizenship and other issues at play.

JONATHAN TURLEY, FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR: Well, thank you, Kellyanne.

I think that the first thing the president should do is go buy a lottery ticket because he’s having a heck of a week and if I was going to get a lottery ticket, it’s probably be today.

But this is a huge win for him. It does negate what has been a stumbling block. These judges have been throwing sand in the works in many of his policies, from immigration, to birthright citizenship, to DOGE cuts. That will presumably now be tamped down.

If these judges try to circumvent that, I think they’ll find an even more expedited path to a Supreme Court that’s going to continue to reverse some of these — lift some of these injunctions.

As you noted, the opinion was really radioactive in this take-down of Justice Jackson. I — it’s rare. I’ve been — I’ve been covering the Supreme Court for decades. It’s rare to see that type of exchange.

The important thing to remember is that, you know, Justice Barrett delivered what was essentially a pile driver but she didn’t do it alone. I mean, her colleagues signed on to this and I think it’s very clear that the majority is getting tired of the histrionics and the hysteria that seems to be growing a bit on the left side of the court. But this was really an astonishing uh takedown by the justice.

But it’s the — it’s the hyperbole that’s coming out of the dissent that is so notable. Justice Sotomayor in that Maryland case said that giving parents the ability to opt out of a few lessons was going to, quote, create chaos and probably end public education. Then you had Justice Jackson saying this could very well essentially be the death of democracy. It’s the type of hyperbole that most justices have avoided.

Here’s the video:

Turley nailed this and did so eloquently, as usual.

MSNBC Host Symone Sanders Townsend Comes Unglued Ranting About SCOTUS Ruling on Birthright Citizenship

It's a great day when you see these Idiots and dipshits come unglued because the Constitutional rule of law was enforced

MSNBC host Symone Sanders Townsend came unglued on Friday during a discussion on the U.S. Supreme Court (SCOTUS) ruling on birthright citizenship, calling the ruling “insane.”

On Friday, SCOTUS delivered a powerful rebuke of activist judges and handed President Trump a pivotal legal victory by reaffirming the rightful balance of power between the judiciary and the executive.

In a 6–3 decision, the Court sided with the Trump administration, ruling that federal district courts lack the constitutional or statutory authority to issue so-called ‘universal injunctions.’ The ruling stems from challenges to President Trump’s executive order.

Hours after taking office, Trump signed an executive order ending birthright citizenship, which gives children born in the U.S. the immediate right to citizenship.

The rule of law was too much for Sanders Townsend.

Per Fox News:

“I just don’t, I can’t believe that we are asking the question, ‘is the 14th Amendment to the Constitution constitutional?’ That is what, it is crazy. And I am sorry, but people need to call, ‘this is crazy.’ They are asking us… They’re asking us not to believe our own eyes and our own ears. They’re asking us to go against everything that we know to be true. This is insane,” Sanders Townsend said.

Fellow MSNBC host Michael Steele added, “this is the landscape we find ourselves on now.”

“I mean, the reality is that they have been very effective. Trump and his minions inside the government have been very effective at setting the stairsteps to the various narratives that they want to get accomplished,” he said.

Following the ruling, President Trump told reporters, “We can now promptly file to proceed with numerous policies” that were previously blocked by radical left judges.

This includes previous executive orders and actions, such as “including birthright citizenship, ending sanctuary city funding, suspending refugee resettlement, freezing unnecessary funding, stopping federal taxpayers from paying for transgender surgeries and numerous other priorities of the American people,” the President told reporters.
