Gibbs is Such a Douchbag and a Whiner!
Robert Gibbs, the senior adviser to President Barack Obama, called last week’s
debate a “masterful, theatrical performance” and a “superb acting job” by
Republican candidate Mitt Romney.
“He did everything but learn tap
dance,” Gibbs quipped Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
He described
Romney as a “chameleon” on the budget and his plan for what Gibbs insisted was a
$4.8-trillion tax cut.
“I think there were people on the Romney campaign
that had never seen this candidate,” Gibbs said of Romney’s debate performance.
“You simply cannot wish away the existence of your entire campaign
platform.”
Gibbs and Republican strategist Mike Murphy got into a heated
discussion about closing tax loopholes, with Gibbs saying Romney can’t rely on
loopholes to balance the budget, and Murphy saying Obama can’t,
either.
“You’re attacking Romney for doing exactly what your candidate is
doing,” Murphy charged.
Gibbs said Romney’s platform mirrors that of the
Bush administration’s “tremendously bad decisions that preceded the Obama
presidency.”
“The notion that, ‘Let’s go to war with Sesame Street but
give Wall Street a big, wet kiss,’ that’s exactly what got us into this mess,”
he said.
On the issue of Republicans questioning the 7.8-percent
unemployment rate the Labor Department released Friday, Gibbs had this to say to
host David Gregory: “David, there’s a number of people that believe the real
unemployment report is somewhere in a safe in Nairobi with the president’s
Kenyan birth certificate.”
