Kash Patel: On that day, specifically, responding to, preparing to mobilize and employ the National Guard once we got the lawful request from the local governing authority, which was the mayor of DC and the speaker of the House.

 

Senator Ted Cruz: Now, how many days in advance were you working to prepare the Department of Defense to help secure the Capitol on January sixth?

Kash Patel: Days in advance, Senator, we were in the oval office on an unrelated national security matter with the President of the United States, the Secretary of Defense, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and myself and the President authorized up to 20,000 plus National Guard men and women to secure any security measures necessarily related to the capital. We were moving to the fullest extent of the law before the requisite request came from a local governing authority days ahead of time.

 

Ted Cruz: While you were Chief of Staff at DOD, how many times did DOD approach Capitol Police and ask if they needed National Guard assistance?

Kash Patel: I believe those letters are well-documented numerous instances, and numerous of those instances, those requests were shut down.

Ted Cruz: Now, am I correct that the Capital Sergeant at Arms said assistance was unnecessary?

 

 

Kash Patel: That’s correct, Senator.

Ted Cruz: Who did the Sergeant at Arms report to?

Kash Patel: The speaker of the House.

 

Ted Cruz: That would have been Nancy Pelosi at the time. Is that correct?

Kash Patel: Yes, Senator.

Ted Cruz: Would that also be Chuck Schumer, then the Senate Majority Leader?

Kash Patel: The Sergeant at Arms, yes, Senator, reports up there.

 

Ted Cruz: Did Mayor Bowser, the Democrat elected mayor in DC, either request or allow National Guard assistance?

Kash Patel: She put in writing on the days leading up to January sixth, a declination for National Guard additional support, and that letter is available publicly to the world.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, former Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Washington DC Mayor Muriel Bowser were both warned about the security situation prior to January 6th and both of them turned down National Guard troops at the US Capitol that day.

Chris Wray’s FBI also refused to notify the Trump administration and his cabinet secretaries that they believed there could be violence like the mass protests at the Capitol that took place that day.

Nancy Pelosi also refused the National Guard at the US Capitol due to “politics,” but that is just her excuse. What did she know in advance?

Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund previously testified that he asked House and Senate security officials for permission to request that the D.C. National Guard be placed on standby in case he needed quick backup. But they both turned him down.

 

Pelosi was not honest about their communications – she lied.

On Monday night Chief Steven Sund responded to the video released earlier on Monday by the Oversight Subcommittee.

Officer Sund slammed Pelosi for her statement on J6 for the cameras saying she was “surprised” the National Guard was not at the US Capitol after she denied President Trump’s request to have National Guard at the Capitol that day!

Tulsi Gabbard took Washington by storm as she exposed the rot of deep state corruption, slamming 51 intelligence officials, Hillary Clinton, and the Democrat Party for their blatant weaponization of America’s intelligence agencies.

As she stood before the Senate Intelligence Committee for her confirmation hearing as President Trump’s pick for Director of National Intelligence, Gabbard delivered a devastating indictment of the intelligence community’s failures and abuses over the last two decades.

Gabbard, a combat veteran and former Democrat presidential candidate, wasted no time calling out the politically motivated intelligence fiascos that have cost American lives, undermined national security, and fueled dangerous global instability.

For too long, faulty, inadequate, or weaponized intelligence has led to costly failures and the undermining of our national security and God-given freedoms enshrined in the Constitution. The most obvious example of one of these failures is our invasion of Iraq, based on a total fabrication or a complete failure of intelligence.

 

This disastrous decision led to the deaths of tens of thousands of American soldiers, millions of people in the Middle East, mass migration, destabilization, and the undermining of the security and stability of our European allies. It also contributed to the rise of ISIS, the strengthening of Al Qaeda and other Islamist jihadist groups, and the empowerment of Iran.

The American people elected Donald Trump as their President—not once, but twice—yet the FBI and intelligence agencies were politicized by his opponents to undermine his presidency and falsely portray him as a puppet of Putin.

Gabbard’s testimony ripped into the coordinated efforts of the Clinton and Biden campaigns to manipulate intelligence agencies for political gain.

 

She highlighted how the now-discredited Steele dossier—funded by the Clinton campaign—was used as “evidence” to illegally spy on Trump campaign advisor Carter Page via FISA warrants.

Gabbard also targeted the now-infamous 51 former intelligence officials who falsely labeled Hunter Biden’s laptop as “Russian disinformation” to help Joe Biden secure victory in the 2020 election.

She exposed Biden campaign operative Tony Blinken as the mastermind behind the disinformation letter.

 Gabbard:

Title I of FISA was used illegally to obtain a warrant to spy on Trump campaign advisor Carter Page, using a Clinton-Biden campaign-funded false dossier as their so-called evidence. Biden campaign advisor Tony Blinken was the impetus for the “51 former senior intelligence officials’ letter,” dismissing Hunter Biden’s laptop as disinformation and specifically intended to help Biden win the election.”

Gabbard also blasted former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper for blatantly lying to Congress about mass surveillance programs that targeted American citizens.

And she didn’t hold back on ex-CIA chief John Brennan, who she reminded the world spied on Congress, got caught, and faced zero accountability.

Gabbard revealed one of the most chilling abuses under the Biden administration: the FBI’s targeting of devout Catholics.

“Under Biden, the FBI abused its power for political reasons to try to surveil Catholics who attend traditional Latin mass, labeling them as radical traditionalist Catholics.”

Gabbard also exposed how, just 24 hours after she criticized Kamala Harris’s nomination, she was placed on a secret domestic terror watchlist called “Quiet Skies.”

Gabbard dismantled the left’s predictable playbook, warning Americans exactly what was coming: false accusations, fear-mongering, and outright lies designed to discredit her before she even steps into office.

Those who oppose my nomination imply that I am loyal to something or someone other than God, my own conscience, and the Constitution of the United States—accusing me of being Trump’s puppet, Putin’s puppet, Assad’s puppet, a guru’s puppet, and Modi’s puppet—without recognizing the absurdity of simultaneously being the puppet of five different puppet masters.

The same tactic was used against President Trump and failed. The American people elected President Trump with a decisive victory and a mandate for change. The fact is, what truly unsettles my political opponents is that I refuse to be their puppet.

I condemn those actions as a Democrat in Congress at the time, as religious bigotry must be thoroughly condemned by all of us, no matter the religion. Unfortunately, some Democrat senators still don’t understand the principle of freedom of religion and Article VI of the Constitution: “No religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States.”

Unfortunately, they are once again using the religious bigotry card—this time, trying to foment religious bigotry against Hindus and Hinduism.

Will California succeed in secession?

 Kurt Schlichter has a series of novels—eight thus far—based on the premise America has split into blue and red countries. In his first book—People’s Republic--his protagonist Kelly Turnbull, formerly Army Special Ops, makes a good living spiriting people out of the blue. That novel focuses on California where every bit of contemporary wokeness has run to its obvious, lunatic extreme and California is a totalitarian hell hole.

Now it seems Californians consider their burning state to be so successful and progressive they can go it alone:

There’s a new secession effort on the horizon, and just like the Confederates of the mid-19th century, Democrats are behind it. Newsweek reports that California’s secretary of state has given the green light to a movement to gather signatures for a petition to put California’s secession from the U.S. on the ballot in 2028. [Skip]

To have an independence vote included on California's 2028 election ballot, campaigners must gather 546,651 signatures—constituting 5 percent of the total votes cast for Governor Gavin Newsom in November 2022—and submit them to county elections officials by July 22, 2025.

The question proposed by the campaign is "Should California leave the United States and become a free and independent country?"

According to the campaign, if at least 50 percent of registered Californian voters cast their ballots, and at least 55 percent of participants vote "yes," it would constitute "a vote of no confidence in the United States of America" and an "expression of the will of the people of California" to become an independent state.

Apparently, the recently allocated $50 million to “Trump proof” California was merely a down payment on their bold resistance to the American republic’s constitutional tyranny. 

So be it. Just as Donald Trump is wisely going to require some sane policy changes in exchange for rebuilding money, there ought to be some caveats for Californians to keep in mind as they vote on secession. A few come to mind:

*America won’t have to build a wall to keep Californians out; they’ll build one to keep them in. We might have to take down the border wall between what used to be California and Mexico. They wouldn’t want to keep that, would they?

*Every military installation and other federal offices will have to be moved to the free states. There are 32 military installations and well over 150 thousand personnel, not counting dependents, civilian workers, etc. I’m sure California, a model of efficient governance, won’t miss them or their tax dollars.

*Since California will be a sovereign nation, we’ll have to negotiate treaties of all kinds. We’ll certainly have to enact tariffs on anything they export to America, regulate the border, require passports, visas, etc.

*It would be wrong of us to continue to burden a self-sufficient country like the People’s Republic of California—or will it be the People’s Republic of Newsom?—with commodities like water, electricity or gasoline. Surely, they won’t want that kind of climate change horror? They deserve to prosper by their own superior, evolved green policies, so we’ll keep our water, electricity, gas and similar commodities to ourselves. 

*That will apply to all other consumer goods as well. Independent nations ought to be able to produce what they need, and they wouldn’t want our awful, climate change denying gas stoves, furnaces, cars and efficient air conditioners anyway.

*Well, maybe if they wanted things like clothing, food, toilet paper and the like we could kindly provide them, but at a considerable markup to cover the expenses of transporting them to a foreign country.

*I’m sure they’d want their own currency with likenesses of people like Karen Bass, President-for-life Newsom, and that hefty LA assistant fire chief, whatever her name is. So, it would be appropriate to let them have their own money, which wouldn’t be legal tender in America.

*Come to think of it, they wouldn’t want our filthy, capitalist money either, would they?

*They surely wouldn’t want to have access to our stock market, so we’ll help them out with that.

*We don’t send Social Security, Medicare or any other benefits to citizens of foreign lands, but I’m sure Californians, or whatever they’ll call themselves, wouldn’t want that sort of thing from an oppressive nation like America.

*They’d have to set up their own insurance companies too.

*I’m sure their income taxes would be much more efficient and lower than they’re currently paying to the IRS.

*When next California—or whatever—bursts into flames, importing fire fighters, air tankers and the like will be much more costly, having to travel to a foreign country and all.

*As for national defense, good luck with that. They wouldn’t want to involve themselves with an oppressive, patriarchal military that doesn’t fully embrace the glories of LGBTQWERTY and DEI.

I’m sure I’m missing a few things, but perhaps this would be a good starting place for current Californian’s consideration.

Is the climate doomsday cult finally losing power?

 For years, climate activists like Al Gore and John Kerry have made bold, headline-grabbing predictions that have failed to materialize.  Gore’s 2007 assertion that the Arctic would be ice-free by 2013 stands in stark contrast to reality: Arctic ice has not disappeared despite seasonal fluctuations, and Antarctica sea ice has rebounded from record low levels.

Similarly, Kerry’s repeated warnings of impending catastrophe have lacked grounding in observable data.  Then-teenage activist Greta Thunberg’s 2020 declaration that we had only “eight years left to save the planet” added to a long list of apocalyptic deadlines that have come and gone without the promised catastrophes.

The credibility gap has only widened with extreme actions by groups like Extinction Rebellion and Just Stop Oil, whose theatrical protests — from destroying priceless artworks to blocking ambulances by gluing hands to roads — have alienated potential supporters and raised questions about the movement’s priorities.

These repeatedly failed predictions and increasing public skepticism of activists’ motivations have wrought a significant shift in the public’s openness to their apocalyptic narrative.

A growing number of citizens worldwide are embracing what can be called “climate realism” — a perspective that acknowledges climate variations while questioning their primary causes, the supposed severity of their impacts, and claims of their unprecedented nature.

According to Pew Research Center’s annual policy priorities survey, conducted January 2024, only 36% of poll participants thought climate change should be a top priority for the U.S. president and Congress.  There were 17 more pressing issues, including health care, education, employment, and national security.  Another survey last year found that of the 28 issues, global warming ranked only 19th among registered voters.

The shift in public sentiment is perhaps most evident in recent elections across diverse democracies.  In the United States, Argentina, India, and Italy, voters have increasingly prioritized immediate economic concerns, national security, and tangible environmental issues like local pollution over abstract climate goals.

The election of leaders who prioritize economic growth and energy security over climate action isn’t a rejection of environmental concerns; it’s a realignment of priorities based on lived experience.  Real-world data often contradict alarmist narratives.

Global life expectancy has continued its upward trend, reaching 74.6 years in 2023, despite predictions of climate-induced health crises.  The United States and Europe have achieved remarkable improvements in air quality through practical environmental management, with the U.S. seeing a 78% reduction in aggregate emissions of six key pollutants since 1970, according to a 2021 EPA report.

Equally telling are data on extreme weather events.  Although media coverage might suggest otherwise, the frequency of major hurricane landings in the United States and the global frequency of major hurricanes have shown no significant upward trend over the past five decades (a period  of increasingly accurate satellite data).

Meanwhile, forest cover in the European Union has increased by over 9% since 1990.  Similar positive trends have been documented in India and China.  Global crop production has reached record levels, with the global wheat yield increasing by 30% since 2000.

For years, organizations like the United Nations have advanced pseudoscientific climate policies disconnected from the needs of ordinary people.  But the veneer of consensus is wearing thin.  Developing nations, which face immediate challenges like poverty, disease, and inadequate infrastructure, are increasingly resistant to climate agendas of Western origin.

Argentina’s decision to pull out of November’s COP 29 climate conference highlighted a growing divide between the global North and South.  President Donald Trump’s pull-out of the U.S. from the Paris accord and net-zero movement will embolden more developing countries to do the same.

People increasingly recognize that access to abundant, reliable energy — predominantly from fossil fuels and nuclear power — is fundamental to human flourishing.  The correlation between energy consumption and quality of life metrics (health care, education, economic opportunity) is well documented.

The era of climate alarmism may be waning, replaced by a more pragmatic approach to global challenges.  The future of environmental policy likely is in practical, local solutions that balance mitigation of real pollutants — as opposed to the demonization of harmless carbon dioxide — with human prosperity.

The head of the Russian Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, accuses Biden of attempting to murder Trump, Putin and other global leaders.

The Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, or DUMA, Vyacheslav Volodin, accused the Biden regime of attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin, and other world leaders.

Volodin made the remarks on Wednesday.

Vyacheslav Volodin: We turn to the Congress of the United States of America with a request to conduct an investigation of this situation… We must take this seriously. Moreover we see that there was an attempt to assassinate Trump, the Prime Minister of Slovakia, Fico. There was an assassination attempt on Orban, it was prevented. And all around the administration of Biden and his henchmen.

It is unacceptable for such issues to be discussed at the state level. With the participation of the Secretary of State, the President of the United States of America.

What is he talking about? At the head of the country, which considers itself an example of democracy, there are ordinary bandits, murderers.

This is a crime. Let them prove that this country is a democracy. Let Biden go with Blinken to the electric chair. Then the whole world will see that this is democracy. And if the are silent, then they shouldn’t open their mouths and teach anyone. We take this seriously.

It is interesting that all of the leaders who were targeted were populist leaders with the exception of Vladimir Putin, who is the president of Russia.

President Trump’s FBI Director nominee, Kash Patel, has already claimed his first Democrat victim in what is expected to be a highly contentious confirmation hearing.

As The Gateway Pundit’s Jordan Conradson reported, Patel sat down this morning to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee for confirmation beginning at 9:30 A.M.

Patel’s impressive qualifications include several high-ranking positions in the intelligence and defense communities, such as Department of Defense Chief of Staff and Deputy Director of National Intelligence under President Trump.

The Gateway Pundit recently reported that Patel is already working with Rep. James Comer (R-KY) and building plans to crush the deep state.

Comer revealed that he had a lengthy discussion with Kash Patel and said, “Mr. Patel is the right man for the job. He recognizes the importance of ending the weaponization of federal law enforcement and holding Deep State bureaucrats accountable. Change is here!”

But these facts do not matter to Democrats, especially Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL). As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, Durbin has gone all out to stop Patel.

He has sent letters to the Justice Department, Department of Defense, and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), accusing Patel of working to undermine the transition process between Donald Trump and Joe Biden following the widespread fraud that occurred during the 2020 presidential election.

But he got a cold taste of reality when he tried to ambush Patel on the J6 pardons.

“Do you think America is safer because 1600 people have been given the opportunity to come out of prison and live in our communities again?” Durbin asked.

After telling Durbin he had not had an opportunity to review all the pardons and making clear he had no tolerance for those who harm law enforcement, Patel destroyed him with this brutal reminder:

 I also believe that America is not safer because of Biden’s commutation of a man who murdered two FBI agents…The man that point-blank range fired a shotgun into their heads and murdered them was released from prison.”

The person Patel was referring to was far-left ‘Native American rights’ activist Leonard Peltier, who not only killed two FBI agents on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation but also escaped from federal prison.

Patel then dropped Durbin on his head when the senator accused him of racism.

“I certainly don’t believe that an individual who is the first minority to serve as the Deputy Director of National Security is a racist and detest any conjecture to the contrary.”
