Bubba Clinton lost the nuclear codes and then tried to hide it

Reminding us once again that we dodged a bullet, or maybe a nuke, when we rejected Hillary Clinton for president, news is out that Bill Clinton lost the nuclear codes intended to protect America from a nuclear attack.  After that, he then tried to hide it.  The story can be read in Business Insider, which fished that detail up from a 2010 book.
Shelton and Cohen feared [that] the saga would reach the press and become an embarrassing story.  But word of the missing codes never made it out, and Shelton's recounting of it in his 2010 book was, to his knowledge, the first time it had been shared publicly.
"This is a big deal – a gargantuan deal – and we dodged a silver bullet," Shelton writes, adding: "You do whatever you can and think you have an infallible system, but somehow someone always seems to find a way to screw it up."
This is the spouse of the woman whose mishandling of all the classified information of the State Department was described as "extremely careless" by her political ally, then-FBI director James Comey.
It jibes with my editorial earlier this week, asking if Democrats can be trusted with passwords, even their own, given all the breaches we have seen with their camp.  They just don't care because they see every responsibility as "the government's job" and forget they are the government.

Can you imagine if Donald Trump had made such a breach?  It goes to show the ends to which the media will go to protect these grifters.
It's not for nothing that Bill and Hillary Clinton have been called "the Tom and Daisy Buchanan of American politics," a term possibly coined, or at least used amply, by Maureen Dowd and Carol Morgan.
They were careless people, Tom and Daisy -- they smashed up things and creatures and then retreated back into their money or their vast carelessness, or whatever it was that kept them together, and let other people clean up the mess they made.
We got lucky this time.  The pattern of carelessness among the Clinton Democrats is not only widespread; it's consequential.

Republican Wins Random Draw For Virginia House Seat That Ended In A Tie

Republicans across Virginia breathed a sigh of relief when moments ago a random draw determined that Republican David Yancey would keep his seat in the Virginia House of Delegates after a state official pulled his name out of a bowl Thursday, deciding a contest that ended in a tie in November. As a result of nothing more than luck, the GOP will also keep control of the chamber.
Or, as one twitter commentator put it, "welcome to 2018 where a $9.99 product from Crate & Barrel determines elections…"
The draw took place after Yancey and Democrat Shelly Simonds each received 11,608 votes in their Newport News-based district. Initial results showed Yancey leading by just ten votes. A recount gave Simonds a one-vote edge. But Republicans challenged a single ballot, resulting in a tie, the Hill reported.
Democrats sued to overturn the challenge, but on Wednesday a three-judge panel rejected their complaint. That led to Thursday’s drawing, in Richmond, out of a special bowl crafted by the resident potter at the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts.
The lucky draw has major implications as Yancey would be the 51st Republican in the 100-member House of Delegates. Before November’s elections, Republicans held 66 seats. But Democrats put up a surprisingly strong showing, netting 15 Republican-held seats — and coming within a single vote of claiming a tie.
Virginia state law allows the loser of the draw to request a second recount. Simonds said Wednesday she would not request a second recount if she lost the drawing. Yancey declined to make the same pledge, although luckily he wont have to.

‘White Genocide’ Professor Claims NYU Has Hired Him as a Visiting Scholar

If this Shit Bag (He's no scholar) wants white genocide I think he ought to stand at the front of the line

drexel

Controversial former professor George Ciccariello-Maher, who recently resigned from Drexel University, claims that New York University has hired him. NYU confirmed his status as a visiting scholar but states it is an “unpaid appointment.”

Ciccariello-Maher, known best for his “All I want for Christmas is White Genocide” tweet, which he claimed was an attempt to poke fun at the paranoid fantasy that the left wants to decrease the amount of white Americans, recently stepped down from his position at Drexel University. Towards the end of his tenure at Drexel, Ciccariello-Maher was relegated to teaching online courses, as the university was concerned for his safety when he was on campus.
Now, Fox News reports that Ciccariello-Maher claims he has been hired as a visiting scholar by NYU’s Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics. He shared the news on his social media accounts to much support from his followers.
Ciccariello-Maher baselessly blamed the Las Vegas concert massacre on “white supremacist patriarchy” in October.
“White people and men are told that they are entitled to everything. This is what happens when they don’t get what they want,” he tweeted.
Ciccariello-Maher resigned from Drexel University last week citing concerns that he was overwhelmed with death threats and hate mail.
Breitbart News has reached out to NYU to confirm Ciccariello-Maher’s claim. The Washington Examimer‘s communication attempts to confirm the claim with NYU have gone unanswered.
Update — New York University has replied to Breitbart News with this comment:

“NYU has not hired Professor Cicarriello-Maher.  Rather, during calendar year 2018, he will have an unpaid appointment as a visiting scholar affiliated with the Hemispheric Institute of Performance and Politics, a scholarly consortium of over 20 North and South American universities that is headquartered at NYU.   Visiting scholar appointments are made by faculty involved with the Institute, and typically do not entail classroom or other academic duties.”

Venezuela: Maduro Raises Minimum Wage by 40 Percent to $2 a Month

Another defining moment for "Bernie's" love of Socialism

Venezuela’s socialist dictator Nicolás Maduro has raised his country’s minimum wage by a further 40 percent, meaning public sector employees will now earn around two dollars a month in his seventh and final major hike of 2017.

“We have good news regarding the protection and stability of all the workers,” said Maduro in a televised address. “I am announcing the rise of the national minimum wage by 40 percent for all our doctors and public sector workers.”
The move means that working Venezuelans will now receive a basic salary of 248,510 bolivares, equivalent to $2.02 a month. On top of that, they are also handed an increased food ticket worth 549,000 bolivares worth $4.46, meaning their total income amounts to around $6.48.
Over the course of 2017, Maduro instigated seven separate minimum wage hikes in order to fight back at what he describes as an “economic war” led by the United States and other Western powers against his regime.
However, the hikes are only like to worsen the country’s unprecedented rates of inflationcontinually depleting the value of its currency, meaning that figure is only likely to fall.
According to latest figures, inflation rose by a staggering 1,369 percent between January and November last year. The figures were only released by the country’s opposition, as the Maduro regime refuses to publish them.
As part of his socialist “Bolivarian revolution,” Maduro’s late predecessor Hugo Chávez would boast of Venezuela having the highest minimum wage in Latin America, equivalent to $372 a month.
However, inflation began to soar as early as 2007 and accelerated further after oil prices crashed in 2012. In recent years, Venezuelans have been seen carrying thousands of banknotes to buy the simplest of products, in scenes similar to Germany’s Weimar Republic or Zimbabwe’s hyperinflation crisis.
The government has responded by introducing higher denomination bank notes, although even the maximum note of 100,000 bolivares is still worth under one dollar.
Hyperinflation is just one of many serious economic problems faced by the regime, who in November defaulted on their debts, which amount to around $200 billion, mainly owed to Russia and China.
The government is also facing the pressure of economic sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union, which mainly target the country’s state-run oil company, Petroleum of Venezuela, as well as a number of government officials.

The Maduro regime is currently moving forward with plans to launch its own national cryptocurrency known as the ‘Petro,’ backed by the nation’s considerable reserves of oil, gold, and diamonds.

Trump Announces Massive Expansion In Offshore Drilling; Environmentalists Outraged

Energy Independence from OPEC?  That's a good thing

In December 2017, during the twilight days of the previous administration, as one of Barack Obama's last executive actions the former president formally blocked offshore oil and gas drilling in most of the Atlantic and Arctic Ocean, responding to a call from environmentalists who say the government needs to do more to prevent drilling in environmentally sensitive areas of U.S.-controlled oceans.
The move was not surprising: Obama had been expected to take the action by invoking a provision in a 1953 law that governs Outer Continental Shelf offshore leases, and he did just that to block drilling in federal waters in the Arctic's Chukchi Sea and most of its Beaufort Sea. He also protected 21 underwater canyons in the Atlantic Ocean from drilling.
At the time, we said  that the "move will likely be overturned promptly by the administration of Donald Trump." And, a little over a year later, this is precisely what happened on Thursday afternoon, when the Trump administration announced it is proposing to greatly expand the areas available for offshore oil and natural gas drilling, including off the Pacific and Atlantic coasts.
Speaking to reporters, Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke said that "the Trump administration is proposing to make more than 90 percent of the U.S. outer continental shelf available for oil leasing" adding that he is "proposing 25 of 26 planning areas on the Outer Continental Shelf be considered for responsible and regulated leasing" and that "nearly all of the nation’s outer continental shelf is being considered for drilling, including areas off the coasts of Maine, California, Florida and Alaska" in the first major step toward the administration’s promised expansion of offshore drilling.
The proposal, which environmentalists immediately panned as an environmental disaster and giveaway to the fossil fuel industry, is far larger than what was envisioned in President Trump’s executive order last year seeking a new plan for the future of auctions of offshore drilling rights. That order asked Zinke to consider drilling expansions in the Atlantic and Arctic oceans, according to The Hill.
The plan is part of Trump’s agenda to boost domestic oil and natural gas production to create “energy dominance” and unlock the nation’s “great energy wealth.”
There's more to come as Thursday’s announcement was just one of three major steps the administration must take to write a new plan for offshore drilling rights sales. After taking public comments on the proposal, officials must revise it and put out a new proposal and then finalize it, a process that could take more than a year.

At each of those steps, Interior can remove areas from consideration for drilling, but cannot make new areas available.
* * *
In the immediate aftermath of the announcement, environmentalists slammed the proposal as a giveaway to the oil industry.

"The Trump administration’s dramatic expansion of offshore oil drilling is beyond reckless," said Alex Taurel, deputy legislative director at the League of Conservation Voters."Seaside communities, businesses, and elected officials from both parties have consistently opposed risky offshore drilling because of the grave threat it poses to their way of life, our climate, and local economies that rely on tourism and fishing," he said quoted by The Hill.
"This radical offshore drilling free-for-all is a clear example of politics over people, ignoring widespread local and state opposition,” said Diane Hoskins, campaign director at Oceana.
The announcement also garnered some Republican opposition. Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) said he would fight attempts to allow drilling near his state. "I have already asked to immediately meet with Secretary Zinke to discuss the concerns I have with this plan and the crucial need to remove Florida from consideration," Scott said in a statement.

Survey: US businesses add a strong 250,000 jobs in December

WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. companies closed out 2017 with strong hiring in December, adding the most jobs in nine months.
Payroll processor ADP says that businesses added 250,000 jobs last month, up from 185,000 in November. The gains were led by robust hiring in health care, professional services such as accounting and engineering, and retail.
The figures suggest that businesses are optimistic about the economic outlook and are staffing up to meet greater demand. ADP’s data bodes well for the government’s monthly jobs report, to be released Friday. Economists forecast that will show a gain of 189,000 jobs, according to a survey by data provider FactSet.
The unemployment rate is projected to remain at a 17-year low of 4.1 percent.

Exclusive–Kris Kobach: Voter Fraud Commission ‘Being Handed Off’ to DHS, Will No Longer Be ‘Stonewalled’ by Dems

Kansas Secretary of State and gubernatorial candidate Kris Kobach says the Presidential Advisory Commission on Election Integrity will be “handed off” to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to “more effectively” investigate voter fraud without being “stonewalled” by Democrats.

In an interview with Breitbart News, Kobach said the news that President Trump is dissolving the voter fraud commission should not be grounds for leftist organizations and Democrats — who sought to stop the investigations into double voting and ballots cast by non-citizens — to celebrate, as the investigations will continue under DHS.
“What’s happening is a tactical shift where the mission of the commission is being handed off to Homeland Security without the stonewalling by Democrats,” Kobach told Breitbart News.
“I’ll be working closely with the White House and DHS to ensure the investigations continue,” Kobach continued.
Kobach, who served as vice chairman of the voter fraud commission, blasted organizations like the ACLU and NAACP, along with Democrats in Congress and on the commission who attempted to halt the panel in its tracks.
“They have absolutely no interest in stopping voter fraud,” Kobach said. “It’s truly extraordinary that one party in our system has made clear that they don’t care.”
“Some people on the Left were getting uncomfortable about how much we were finding out,” Kobach continued.
Thus far, the voter fraud commission has revealed:
  • 938 convictions for voter fraud since the year 2000
  • Fewer than 1 in 100 cases ends in a conviction
  • In Kansas, alone, there are 127 known cases of non-citizen aliens registering to vote
  • In 21 states, there were 8,471 cases of double voting discovered
The commission will now more soundly operate without hold-ups in courts, lawsuits, and political battles, a move that Kobach says Democrats brought onto themselves.
“The investigations will continue now, but they won’t be able to stall if through litigation,” Kobach told Breitbart News.

“The investigation will continue. And it will continue more efficiently and more effectively,” Kobach said. “By throwing their food in the air, they just lost their seat at the table.”
