Additional text messages sent and received by disgraced FBI agent Peter Strzok have been handed over to Congress, reports the Associated Press. In yet another twist to the Strzok saga, the FBI failed to hand over a block of the agent’s text messages because they have gone missing.
According to Fox News contributor Sara Carter, there are strong indications that Justice Department officials, including Inspector General Michael Horowitz, believe the text messages were, in fact, not lost at all.

Real Clear Politics reports:
Carter pointed out that previously revealed Strzok-Page texts alluded to an “insurance policy” that could be used if Trump won the presidency.“Their worst nightmare has come true, the president is elected. That is something they did not expect. FBI sources said from the very beginning that they didn’t want Trump to make it into office.”“I’m concerned that they’re still working at the FBI,” Carter said. “I’m hearing from my sources, too. FBI agents are saying, ‘Why are they still there?’”“The Lovebirds. They were having an affair, they were both married, they’re working counter-intelligence. That’s enough for blackmail,” Carter said. “Now they’re sending text messages on an unsecured phone. Believe me, the Germans, the Russians, the Israelis, everybody is going into those phones and trying to suck out all the information they have.”
Carter then touches on claims that a “technical glitch,” caused the texts to go missing.
About the FBI’s claim that the Samsung phones are responsible for the 50,000 additional missing text messages, Carter says: “I can tell you this, a lot of people within the DOJ, possibly even the inspector general himself, a lot of people within these committees do not buy this.“
Carter’s suggestion bodes well with the New York Post reporter Paul Sperry’s tweet earlier Wednesday, who claims Horowitz now has hundreds of texts from high level FBI agents. If Horowitz was able to obtain these messages, why not Strzok’s and Page’s texts? Hence why Carter suggested the Inspector General isn’t buying what the bureau is selling when it comes to the “technical glitch,” excuse.
“In addition to Strzok and Page’s texts, IG Horowitz has obtained hundreds of other high-level text messages from the FBI-issued mobile devices of other FBI as well DOJ officials involved in pre-election investigations. May explain recent resignations and reassignments,” Sperry tweeted.

Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton says he doesn’t believe the FBI’s explanation about the missing text messages.
“It is shameful the #FBI and #DOJ have been playing shell games with these smoking gun text messages. FBI Director Wray should end the stonewalling,” says Fitton.

As The Gateway Pundit‘s Jim Hoft reported, Judicial Watch Chief Investigator Chris Farrell told Fox News host Lou Dobbs Wednesday that he spoke with three different FBI officials who disputed the claims by the DOJ and Deep State officials that the Peter Strzok – Lisa Page phone messages were lost in a “glitch” is a complete lie.
It appears there is a growing consensus among former and current FBI and Justice Department officials that the “missing,” texts are, in fact, not missing at all.
