RUSH: This may be a bit of an emergency here, folks, but I may have to curtail — I don’t like this any more than you do — but I may have to cut back on my analysis. Well, the reason is, I end up giving great advice to Democrats. If they would just listen to me — the problem is, they may be starting to. And we can’t have that. You know I sit here and I analyze things in full confidence that they’re gonna ignore. ‘Cause they’re crazy. They’re literally crazy. This banning of ICE, this getting rid of ICE, this is nuts.
Folks, there’s no other way to describe this. This is literally nuts, insane, whatever word you wish to describe it. There isn’t any sense in it at all. And dealing with these people here is becoming a challenge, because I have run out of descriptive terms for insanity. I’ve exhausted everything I have in my thesaurus. I don’t use one of those things much because I know so many words. But, man.
Great to have you. Greetings. Rush Limbaugh, back here at the Southern Command in south Florida, unknown location. 800-282-2882 if you want to be on the program. The email address, ElRushbo@eibnet.us.
Mr. Snerdley, on Friday you were worried when I said, “Boy, it seems like a lot of winning going on,” and you weren’t convinced. This is after the Kennedy announcement, the retirement — oh-ho-ho, folks, by the way. There is a guy, he’s a well-known leftist writer named Michael Tomasky, but he has turned on — Anthony Kennedy is the biggest reprobate on earth today. Anthony Kennedy is a total disgrace to America.
This is a reverse Bork. Normally they Bork you when you’ve been nominated. The Democrats are Borking Kennedy because he’s leaving! It’s hilarious! You don’t think this is winning? Listen to F. Chuck Todd, audio sound bite number 2, opening Meet the Press yesterday.
TODD: The announced retirement of Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy this week helped make one political reality clear. Despite his overall unpopularity, President Trump is winning, and the Democrats right now are reeling.
RUSH: Wait a minute. How can Trump be so unpopular, then, Chuck? How does this really work? “Despite his overall unpopularity.” Then why is he winning, and why is your side losing? Not just losing, but reeling? Now, here’s what I mean about facing a crossroads. I want to take you to CNN yesterday, CNN Inside Politics, John King introduced and played a clip of me talking about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, the 28-year-old — by the way, she grew up in Westchester County. Do you know this now? Okay, now, folks, you may not know Westchester County in New York, but it’s in the top 10 wealthiest counties in the country. It’s close.
Westchester County is where the owners of the New York Giants live. Bedford, New York, is in Westchester County. I mean, it’s up there. And this babe, her dad, I think was an architect or something. She grew up there. She’s not some poor babe from the wrong side of the subway tracks in the Bronx as she is portraying herself to be. Which, furthermore, how did she end up this way?
They wanted us to believe she came from the dirt of poverty in Puerto Rico and then migrated somehow to the South Bronx and over to Queens and wherever. She’s from Westchester County. She grew up in Westchester County. She’s not far from Chappaqua. Exactly right. Not far from Chappaqua. Neither was I. I played in the Winged Foot member-guest a couple of weeks ago, and I saw the road sign. I said, “Gee. I wonder if the Energizer bunny is at home,” I asked myself.
Anyway, here’s why I may have to curtail analysis. Folks, it’s frustrating. John King, CNN, played a clip of me talking about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and asking some correspondent from the Washington Post to react to it. Here is the first of two bites.
KING: Listen to Rush Limbaugh here. He says Republicans should be saying this party’s going too far left.
RUSH ARCHIVE: The reason they’re not happy about it is because the things this woman that beat Joe Crowley stands for represent about 15 or 20% of the thinking of the country, maybe 30 at the outside. There’s no way they’re gonna win the White House with this, and they’re not gonna win back the House with this woman’s agenda, with the Bernie Sanders. It just isn’t gonna happen. And they know it.
KING: And they know, I mean there’s no question the energy in the party, her upset victory, she didn’t spend that much money. I mean, yes, Joe Crowley skipped a debate, yes, Joe Crowley was lazy, yes, Joe Crowley was arrogant about the district, but something happened here. The question is is it in Queens and San Francisco or is it across America?
RUSH: See, normally this sound bite of mine would not permeate the barriers of liberalism and the Drive-By Media. The beneficiaries of my wisdom have never been the left. Now all of a sudden they’re starting to monitor here, folks. What am I gonna do? This is a true statement. This woman’s politics are so radical. And now the rest of the party is thinking about signing on to it.
And this business about banning and abolishing ICE, do you know that started as a throwaway? It started as a throwaway line from New York Senator Kirsten Gillibrand. They all picked it up. They thought it was brilliant! Can I ask a question? Is there anything wrong with America remaining America? That’s the question!
But to the left there is something inherently wrong with America remaining America. That’s what their open borders policy is all about: ending America as we know it, by claiming that everybody in the world is entitled here and to come here because it’s unfair that we exist as we do. That it’s unfair for there to be an America in the world, because America in the world is why these other people are so destitute, poverty stricken, deprived, what have you.
But the question needs to be asked. These people need to be asked — these people on the left, candidates, analysts — is there anything wrong with America remaining America? That question will expose them. I think it’s a brilliant question. You know, throw it out there at ’em. You and I would instinctively say, “No, there’s nothing wrong with America remaining America,” which is what Trump is attempting to do and what we all support. They would answer that question, “No.”
Actually, they would say, “Yes, there is something wrong with America remaining America because America is the problem in the world.” And that’s what they’re really saying. And that’s why they’re not gonna win anything but their own little localized areas. But they don’t represent a majority of thinking. So what am I supposed to do? Am I supposed to stop analyzing now, because we have Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez out there? Am I supposed to shut up in explaining why what they think is minority thinking so that the Democrats don’t hear it and figure it out? Can’t do that.
Here’s what the Washington Post infobabe (name is Seung Min Kim) had to say when John King said, “So is Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez just New York and San Francisco, or is she nationwide?”
KIM: That’s why we’re gonna be watching. There were a couple of once sleepy primaries that are gonna be a lot more attention paid to in the upcoming weeks. We have, uh, Ayanna Pressley in Massachusetts against Tom Capuano, even Tom Carper who we think is safe. He does have a primary challenger in the Delaware primary.
RUSH: People were captivated with that answer. I’m sure I was. Anyway, they don’t know. Well, they do know. They do know that this babe’s politics aren’t anywhere near a representation of thinking in America. Look at the latest immigration debate, the Harvard numbers from Mark Penn. The numbers of people that support Trump are over 50% — well over 50%. The numbers of people who think the current situation at the border is inadequate in keeping illegal immigrants out of the country.
There’s no way, because these people are for open borders. The abolishment of the police that enforce the border… If you get rid of ICE, you’re getting rid of Customs. That means anybody can land in an airport and come in from anywhere without anybody determining who they are and where they’re from. They actually claim to be for this! You know, I’m not a universal supporter of law enforcement. I think every organization of human beings has problems, and I think one of the biggest sets of problems that we currently have is among, well, prosecutors.
Like this team that’s been assembled with Mueller. Their history… I’m reading a book by a lawyer named Sidney Powell. It’s about the Enron Task Force and the destruction they wrought in terms of human lives and American businesses, and the cases they used to do this were all overturned at the Supreme Court. They violated constitutional rights. They did not turn over Brady material — meaning exculpatory material 00 to the defense during all these trials. They suborned perjury of their own witnesses.
And it was all done with the approval and guidance of certain people in the Department of Justice starting in the Bush years and moving on over to the Obama years. And now a lot of those people are on Mueller’s task force, are on Mueller’s investigatory team led by Andrew Weissmann who was one of the ringleaders of this bunch that Sidney Powell writes about and singles out. Devastating. It’s devastating stuff.
But nevertheless you simply can’t get rid of the police. You can’t get rid of law enforcement. You can’t get rid of people at the airports determining who should and who should not be allowed back in the country. You can’t get rid of people determining citizenship so that people can get back in and those who shouldn’t be are not allowed in. Yet this is what they claim to be for, abolishing ICE?
I actually think these protests over the weekend… They were the same people that had on those stupid vagina hats in the protest after Trump won the election. It was too hot out there. Oh, did you hear Whoopi? Did you here Whoopi Goldberg? (interruption) Oh, you gotta hear this. Let me find it. It’s toward the end of the audio sound bites. I should have singled it out with… Grab sound bite No. 13. This was on The View last Thursday. This is after Kennedy has announced that he is retiring. This is what Whoopi Goldberg said…
AUDIENCE: (applause)
GOLDBERG: As a person who believes in the Constitution which tells me that I have the right to be myself and do the things I want to do and I don’t have to listen to what your religion is and I don’t have to listen to what you want it to be… If you take my right away from me to judge what I do for my family and my body, I got a little problem with that. You got a problem, you don’t — you don’t want people to take your guns? Get out of my behind! Get out of my vagina!
AUDIENCE: (applause)
GOLDBERG: Get out!
RUSH: I didn’t know anybody was in her behind or vagina. That was news.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Kirsten Gillibrand, we’re going back here to ICE and getting rid of ICE. You know what this is? This is just Black Lives Matter moving over to the Border Patrol people. That’s all it is. It’s the same bunch. Antifa, Black Lives Matter, the vagina hat crowd. It’s the same bunch. It’s the George Soros bought and paid for professional protest mob. And they just move from issue to issue to issue based on their hatred of Donald Trump.
And so now they’ve moved on to ICE, and here’s Kirsten Gillibrand. This was not her first mention of it. It was kind of a throwaway line when she first mentioned getting rid of ICE. This was Thursday night on Fredo primetime on CNN. Fredo Cuomo talking to Gillibrand about Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and her big win and her position on banning ICE. And Fredo said, “She wants to get rid of ICE. Now, what are you gonna do with your party if you come into majority and you have a significant number of people who have that kind of position?”
GILLIBRAND: Well, I agree with it. I don’t think ICE today is working as intended.
CUOMO: Well, you think you should get rid of the agency?
GILLIBRAND: I believe that it has become a deportation force. Um, and I think you should separate the criminal justice from the immigration issues, and you think you should reimagine ICE under a new agency with a very different mission and take those two missions out.
RUSH: Okay. So she says this, and they are all off and running with it now. Because it’s one thing for some little representative that just won an election, not even in the House of Representatives. For a United States senator to pick up on it and then everybody fell in line. And it is nuts!
But I don’t want them to stop talking this way. So I’m sitting here thinking, should I encourage ’em? And if I do that, I’m gonna lose you! But these people are talking themselves right out of whatever victory they thought they had. And Gillibrand is a hypocrite to boot.
When she was just elected to a House seat in Upstate New York, way back before she was a senator… “[W]hen Gillibrand was just elected to a rather conservative House seat in Upstate New York, she was singing a different tune on illegal immigration. According to a report by the New York Times from 2009, Gillibrand was a hawk on immigration, advocating for strict enforcement of our immigration laws. The article says: ‘During her one term in the House of Representatives, from a largely rural, traditionally Republican district, Kirsten E. Gillibrand was on safe political ground adopting a tough stance against illegal immigration.
“Ms. Gillibrand, a Democrat, opposed any sort of amnesty for illegal immigrants, supported deputizing local law enforcement officers to enforce federal immigration laws, spoke out against Gov. Eliot Spitzer’s [he does it with his socks on] proposal to allow illegal immigrants to have driver’s licenses and sought to make English the official language of the United States.'” That’s eight years ago, nine years ago. Nine years. She’s done a total 180 based on the people she’s representing. So what core principles does she have? Zero! Absolutely zero. Zip, zero, nada. Kirsten Gillibrand. Core principles do not exist. She’s flighty, fluid, flexible, says whatever needs to be said based on who and what she thinks her audience is.
