Two short videos graphically reveal the scale of illegal immigration into the West

 The numbers are staggering, and we are making no effort to assimilate people whose values are often completely antithetical to ours.

Iflatter myself that I’m a wordsmith, but sometimes pictures or videos are infinitely more effective than any words can be. That’s certainly the case with two videos, only seconds long, that graphically illustrate the flow of illegal immigrants into Western Europe and the U.S. Those numbers are difficult for any nation, no matter how affluent, to handle, but what makes it even worse is that neither destination assimilates these immigrants.

The first video came from Neoptolemus, who used statistics on illegal immigration to create a graphic showing dots, with each dot representing 100 people, streaming into Western Europe. The numbers are staggering when you see them, as opposed to just reading them:

In response to a question about seeing the same video map for illegal immigration into America, Kian offered this:

There is no word for this inflow of people—all arriving without the official consent of the countries they’re entering—other than “invasion.” Both Western Europe and the United States, under presidents other than Donald Trump, have done little to stop this invasion and even less to remove the invaders.

This invasion might not be so bad were these people assimilated through each institution with which they have contact (government, education, popular culture), but that’s not the case. Indeed, they are encouraged to maintain the cultures from which they came, since so many in the West are ashamed of Western culture.

The fact that Western culture brought about the end of slavery and child labor, the legal equality of women, religious liberty, the free-market economy that raised the standard of living across the world, and so much more is irrelevant. The self-loathers are unperturbed that the invaders come from cultures with slavery, child labor, the utter subordination of women, the repression of all beliefs (religious and political) antithetical to their government, and deadly, stagnant economies.

The self-loathers’ mindless mantra is that we’re bad and that these invaders’ ancient cultures are only foul and impoverished because of us. That view leads to one logical conclusion: We must make suicidal amends.

In America, the self-loathers (also called Democrats) try to hide this by telling concerned people that America is a nation of immigrants. Moreover, America is just “an idea.” If you “believe” in America, that’s enough.

That’s hogwash.

America is not an idea. It is a set of political, moral, and cultural values developed over the centuries into a very specific entity. The political values are grounded in our Constitution and in the ancient English laws and principles that preceded it, as well as in the subsequent political constructs that legitimately flowed from these documents and principles. Judicial activism does not count.

Our morals flow from the Bible, both the Old and New Testaments. Thus, to the extent that the Founders were almost entirely from Protestant denominations, both books informed their beliefs about the morals and culture that would govern this new nation.

And finally, our culture arose from the cultures of 18th-century Great Britain and Western Europe: that is, the Enlightenment cultures. These embraced rationalism, scientific inquiry, and the understanding that human nature, though naturally corrupt (or at least corruptible), can be guided and constrained by logical systems.

During the great mass immigration after the Civil War, when we badly needed raw labor on farms and in factories, we taught these values to new immigrants and demanded that they conform to them. We did not force them to change their religion or, in their homes, abandon their cultural stylings. However, if they were to be Americans, they had to embrace our founding values, whether political, moral, or cultural.

Then, thanks to the Marxist revolution of the 1960s, when the seeds the Soviets had planted in the West in the 1930s took hold, we abandoned that belief in ourselves and the demands we made of those who arrived. Worse, we no longer have a say in who arrives and how they do.

Back in the day, because it was the law, my parents came legally, waited a long time for my Polish-citizen father to reach the head of the quota line, and had a sponsor guaranteeing they would never be a public charge... and they were not. Now, the aliens themselves decide who comes to America, and then we hand them free stuff.

So, we’re left with an invasion of people bringing with them values antithetical to everything we once stood for—and those videos highlight just how ginormous that invasion is.
