Paramount pulls the trigger on California's wokester rulers? It's reportedly fleeing to Tennessee -TMZ report

 Great News for Paramount!

An unprecedented disaster for California the day they pull out.


It's astonishing how California's leftists delude themselves about the sheet awfulness of their one-party rule of the state. 

For weeks, they and their allies been claiming that mighty 100-year-old Paramount Studios, one of the historic big five of Hollywood, and which along with Warner Brothers, still makes more than a quarter of the movies released in the U.S. every year, is just bluffing about whether it will pull up stakes and move to Tennessee.

Today, they were in for a surprise:

The cause, of course, was California's lawsuit, led by corrupt Attorney General Rob Bonta, opposing its $100 million merger with heavily indebted Warner Brothers, which it already obtained 65 permits and approvals, and shelled out $100 million to buy. California's rulers inexplicably are fighting the studio, which is effectively saving another studio from otherwise going under, claiming it will cost jobs. TMZ adds a caveat that the news still hasn't been announced, so everything is on edge.

There is even talk of political collusion with Netflix, which is unconfirmed, or more likely, the trade unions which control the state but might explain the irrational, self-destructive and very delusional opposition.

Again, the other studio, Warner Brothers, was otherwise going under. Paramount, which is a smaller studio, paid to save them and as owners, use its assets and talents to expand its own operations.

But they don't get that obvious reality. So off the studio goes, to greener pastures, in Tennessee, and probably some satellite operations in Georgia and Texas, too, all of which offer tax incentives, and in many cases, zero state taxes, as well as a welcoming environment for business. Starbucks fled to Nashville, here comes Paramount, too.


Spencer Pratt explained the dynamics of this move very clearly:

He argues that the bookkeeping and the running fines pretty well mandate a move, and that the fools running California should not be surprised if other studios -- studio after studio -- follows them, being interconnected on talent and infrastructure, but competitors, with Paramount sporting a tax advantage over them.

The little guys will be hurt the most -- the grips, caterers, sound men, lighting guys, set builders, et al. And there have been stories about those battered workers begging Paramount to take them with them, which they will probably do -- to the tune of 58,000 jobs.

The Los Angeles Times, which has a pretty good story on it, reports that the city has been on edge for weeks about this, because the loss of a studio this big is going to leave a mark.

The prospect has rattled a region already reeling from steep declines in film production, heavy job losses, empty soundstages and shuttered small businesses.
 
“It would be devastating,” Assemblymember Rick Chavez Zbur, who represents a district that includes the Melrose Avenue movie lot and neighborhoods near Warner Bros. in Burbank, said of a Paramount move. “We need to do everything we can to protect these important jobs in California’s iconic industry.”

Now TMZ reports that they are out of there, saying they told the City of Los Angeles and the State of California.

We hope these clowns are proud of themselves. They are turning California into a zero-investment dump. Silicon Valley is being chased out, too, as is the aerospace industry, the wineries, the agriculture. Other than the fraud-filled NGO rackets, what, exactly, are they going to have left?
