A Fully Funded, Shovel Ready Racial Divide

Over the last 60 years in America the plight of blacks and other minorities in this country has gone from a poor situation to an unbearably bad one. The glorious and noble undertaking of engineered racial harmony in America is exhausted. Everything that was supposed to have happened, hasn’t. Everything that wasn’t supposed to happen, has. 

No progressive program instituted during the last 60 years to lift minorities up out of poverty has succeeded. Sure, there have been successes, but the hundreds of programs designed and funded at taxpayer expense, failed according to the standards set by their so-called progressive authors. 

Poverty is still the number one issue facing minorities, despite trillions of dollars spent to reverse it. Unemployment among minorities is routinely double the white American unemployment rate, despite generous minority quota programs. The rate of children born out of wedlock has only escalated, even with modern birth-control methods and public-school sex education. The absence of a husband and father contributes, at least to some degree, to the alarming rise in abortions among minorities. Inner cities and inner-city schools are predominantly run by African Americans. Yet most of these cities routinely rank last among places to live.

Any attempt to critique this status quo without first giving the proper amount of homage to historical injustices, specific mentions of past victims, and a promise to do more through social programs will lead to shouting and name-calling. This is especially so if one is a white-male-conservative such as Congressman Paul Ryan.

We are a nation that is socially and politically simmering with hate, distrust, and envy. The white majority feels it is being marginalized institutionally and weakened politically, a trend that will eventually hit a wall, for better or worse. The minorities are falling behind and will fall further, which likewise is a trend that will eventually hit a wall, for better or worse.So here we are in 2014, and what has our “investment” gotten us? If you are a Democrat strategist or politician, the taxpayers’ money has gotten you many, many election victories. If you are an American, black, white, or otherwise, who pays taxes, the answer is nothing. If you are a sincere racial economic-equality advocate or a social activist for racial harmony -- you too got nothing for your dollar. A recent Gallup poll confirmed a widening economic gap between white Americans and blacks and other minorities. Political opposition between the two blocs is intensifying. Even more shocking is that racial polarization and party preference by race increased since President Obama moved into the White House.

Meanwhile, the differences between the two are played off against the other by a political class that cares very little about either. The only thing liberal activists, progressive politicians, and race mongers do publicly to address the mess they created is to gin up hostility and paranoia whenever an election approaches.

Politically, they create a police state to prevent the great American melting pot from becoming a pressure cooker. 

If our political elites and liberal do-gooders want to help America and prevent it from imploding along racial lines, they only need to do one thing: Stop!

Was corrupt gun-running Senator Leland Yee tied to the Muslim Maguindanao Massacre?

In a rapidly developing story, disgraced California State Senator Leland Yee has been tied to various Muslim terrorist groups in Mindanao, among those being investigated the groups involved in the infamous 2009 Maguindanao  massacre.

Dignitas News  (h/t Lah)  In the 137 page affidavit, Yee is a suspected middle man between terrorist groups in the Mindanao region of the Philippines, supplying high caliber weaponry (including machine guns and rocket launchers) to Chinese-American organized crime figures in the United States.

The Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (ARMM) is the region the Philippine government has turned over to the Muslim minority in southern Philippines. These provinces follow Shariah law. However, the Muslims lay ancestral domain claims to 14 provinces on the island of Mindanao. The map shows the areas controlled by Christians in green and the official ARMM provinces in orange. You can see from the map, the Philippine Muslims claim a significant amount of territory that is occupied by Christians. These areas are where many terrorist attacks happen.

The affidavit spoke of an elaborate multinational effort involving criminal elements in North Africa and Sicily, as well as US gangsters in New Jersey.Yee is also accused of introducing prospective campaign donors (undercover FBI agents, unbeknownst to Yee) and state legislators who had influence over medical marijuana legislation. In exchange for his services, Yee received cash campaign donations that far exceeded legal limits — and were paid by the FBI.

The affidavit says that in August 2013, a prominent California political consultant who had been working to raise money for Yee’s campaigns told a prospective donor — an undercover federal agent — that Yee “had a contact who deals in arms trafficking.”

n exchange for campaign contributions, according to the affidavit, Yee would “facilitate a meeting with the arms dealer” so that the donor could buy a large number of weapons. The firearms would be imported through a port in Newark, N.J. At one meeting, the affidavit said, Yee and the prospective donor discussed “details of the specific types of weapons.”

Yee and his cohorts were accused of participating in an international crime ring that, that in addition to weapons smuggling, traded in cocaine and other drugs, illegal marijuana “grows” and transporting stolen liquor and other goods to China.

Yee has extensive connections in the Philippines. Among those suspected in involvement are the groups responsible for the infamous 2009 Maguindanao (also referred to as Ampatuan) Massacre. While the 58 victims were on their way to file a certificate of candidacy for Esmael Mangudadatu, vice mayor of Buluan town, they were kidnapped and brutally killed.

Mangudadatu was challenging Datu Unsay mayor Andal Ampatuan, Jr., son of the incumbent Maguindanao governor Andal Ampatuan, Sr. and member of one of Mindanao’s leading Muslim political clans, in the forthcoming Maguindanao gubernatorial election part of the national elections in 2010. The people killed included Mangudadatu’s wife, his two sisters, journalists, lawyers, aides, and motorists who were witnesses or were mistakenly identified as part of the convoy.

While the investigation and subsequent trials will determine the level of Yee’s involvement, if any, he did offer his sentiments of condolence at a Fil-Am memorial for the victims of the tragedy.

“Let us never forget the ultimate sacrifice that these journalists made for the public good,” said Yee. Yee paid tribute to the journalist victims of the massacre and the four who died during the recent typhoon. “They died in the line of duty,” said Austin Baul, president of the the Filipino American Community of Los Angeles. “They knew full well that their mission was fraught with peril yet they persisted to fulfill their duty to the people.”

How Illinois ranks in the U.S. on key indicators

Thanks Pat Quinn. Here is some things you can brag about in your re election!

Is Illinois better off in 2014 than it was four years ago? In 2010 we pored over a virtual library of statistics to assess where Illinois stood relative to other states and produced a chart much like this one. Today we replicate that exercise as closely as the data permit, with comparisons to Illinois' national stature in 2010. By economic and jobs measures, Illinois has fallen further. By some education metrics, Illinois has improved. Our kids are still chubby.

As you read, ask yourself the questions we posed in 2010: Is this the state where my family, my company, my career can thrive? Is this the Illinois I want my generation to bequeath to tomorrow's, and to the one after that? Or do I want to send Illinois in a different direction?

Raising one of these rankings on Nov. 4 — voter turnout — can be a first step toward boosting Illinois' standing nationwide. In future endorsement editorials we'll discuss which candidates are likeliest to improve the distressed state of this state.

ECONOMY AND JOBS

States for business: Worse (now 48th, was 46th in 2010): Illinois is among the worst states for business, says Chief Executive magazine. The Wall Street Journal on March 20 listed Illinois "near the top of any fair survey" for worst-run state in America.

Business climate: Worse (now 31st, was 30th): The business tax climate also is going in the wrong direction, according to the Tax Foundation. Illinois has dipped from an already below-average ranking in 2010.

Job creation: Still 48th: No surprise, then, that employers are steering clear. The American Legislative Exchange Council says Illinois' rate of job creation trails 47 other states, leading only Ohio and Michigan.

Unemployment: Worse (now second-worst, was ninth): The latest U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics data — for January, seasonally adjusted — rank unemployment rates from a high of 9.2 percent in Rhode Island to a low of 2.6 percent in North Dakota. At 8.7 percent, Illinois ties with Nevada for second-worst. Illinois now has 376,099 fewer nonfarm jobs than in January 2008 — a drop of 5.9 percent.

Overall economic performance: Worse (now 47th, was 38th): Our overall economic performance, based on broad variables such as gross domestic product, has declined sharply and now ranks among the very lowest of the states, ALEC calculates.

Economic outlook: Worse (now 48th, was 47th): Worse yet, the same study says our economic outlook is miserable and dropping — due to factors such as burdensome taxes and a high number of public employees as a share of the population. Illinois ranked a somewhat better 43rd in 2008.

Household income: Worse (now 17th, was 16th): Median household income of $55,137 — the amount of money coming in — has fallen. In inflation-adjusted dollars, it has dropped $1,098 per Illinois household from $56,235 in 2008, says the Census Bureau. Among other states, Maryland tops the list with a median income of $71,122; Mississippi trails at $37,095.

Poverty: Still 27th: The Census Bureau says 14.7 percent of Illinois' population lived below the poverty level in 2012, up from 12.2 percent in 2008. Mississippi topped this list with 24.2 percent; New Hampshire had the lowest rate, at 10 percent.

Workers' compensation: Better (now fourth-worst, was third): Workers' compensation reform in Illinois has helped, but not enough to make the state competitive, according to a study of insurance premium rates by the state of Oregon. Only Alaska, Connecticut and California were charging higher rates as of 2012.

Road system: Better (now 34th, was 40th): The Reason Foundation's Annual Highway Report released in July says the state's road system has improved in overall performance and efficiency, especially its rural interstates. But it's costly: Illinois spends almost twice as much per mile as the national average.

GOVERNANCE

Number of local governments: Still first (but slightly better at 6,963 units of government): Illinois has the highest number of local governments in the nation. Illinois reduced the number by a paltry 31 in the five years after 2007, when the Census Bureau counted 6,994 local governments. Texas ranked a distant second, with 5,147.

State and local tax burden: Worse (11th-worst in 2010, was 21st in 2008): Taxes are up. Illinois' state and local tax burden as a percentage of total income was 10.2 percent in 2010 — the latest year available — according to the Tax Foundation. That calculation didn't include the impact of the Illinois income tax increase of 2011. The percentages range from 12.8 percent in New York down to 7 percent in Alaska. In a separate tally of sales tax rates, the Tax Foundation found that Illinois ranks 10th-highest among states as of 2014.

Public pension system: Still 50th: A February report from the Pew Center on the States ranks Illinois dead last in the funding of its public pension system.

HEALTH

Childhood obesity: Worse (now ninth-worst, was 10th): In a troubling sign for the present and future health of Illinois residents, the state ranks near the top in the rate of childhood obesity for kids ages 10 to 17 as of 2011 — the latest data available — according to the Trust for America's Health and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

Health care systems: Better (now 32nd, was 39th): The federal Agency for Healthcare Research & Quality finds some progress but still ranks Illinois below average for the overall performance of its health care systems — including hospitals and nursing homes. Avoidable admissions for chronic diseases such as diabetes are a particular weakness. Among Illinois residents, 22.6 percent, or 2.9 million people, receive Medicaid health care for the poor.

EDUCATION

Education performance: Better (now 28th, was 38th): According to ALEC's measure of overall education performance, including such factors as teacher quality and access to charter schools, Illinois has improved, but it's still below average.

Education spending: Worse (now 22nd, was 18th): Illinois lost ground compared with other states in education spending per child for elementary and secondary schools, according to the Census Bureau. Illinois schools are spending more: Since the 2007-08 school year, the Illinois State Board of Education says that Illinois public schools raised spending to $13,852 from $12,363 in local, state and federal money per student. The latest total, for the 2012-13 school year, was $28.5 billion for 2.1 millionstudents, up slightly from the year before.

Preschool: Still first: Illinois leads the nation in the percentage of 3-year-olds served by state-funded preschool, according to the Illinois State Board of Education. But for 4-year-olds, this state has dropped to 17th, from 13th as of 2010.

High school graduation rate: Better (now 14th, was 19th): Illinois' high school graduation rate for all students, 82 percent as of 2011-12, ranked 14th in the country, an improving performance, although still behind national leader Iowa's 89 percent, according to the U.S. Department of Education.

Public higher education: Better (now 22nd, was 35th): Per capita spending on public higher education ranked better as of 2011 than in 2006, at a level slightly above average among the states, according to the Illinois Board of Higher Education.

STATE OF MIND

Volunteer work: Better (now, 27th, was 29th): Feeling smug about the amount of volunteer work Illinoisans perform? Don't. In Utah, residents put in more than twice as many volunteer hours as their Land of Lincoln counterparts. New York residents put in the least, according to the Corporation for National & Community Service, a federal agency.

Voter turnout: Worse (now tied for 31st, was 29th): Nor is our voter turnout rate anything to admire. Even in the 2012 general election, with favorite son Barack Obama leading the Democratic ticket, Illinois tied for 31st among states in the percentage of registered voters casting ballots at 58.9 percent, according to the U.S. Elections Project, a research center at George Mason University. In this year's primary election, Cook County and DuPage County reported record low turnouts. In Chicago, barely 16 percent of registered voters bothered to participate in this fundamental expression of citizenship.

In two categories — workers' compensation costs and health care rankings — the sources of indicators we cited in 2010 don't offer consistent rankings today. We've substituted comparable indicators. We also don't have updates for two data points we cited in 2010, a state happiness index and an environmental ranking of the most toxic metropolitan areas in the U.S.

The Filthy Four! Democrats Who Have Been Arrested Or Raided By The FBI This Week!

Four Democrats have taken the “culture of corruption” and made it into a full-blown political movement this week by committing acts that made the FBI either arrest them or raid their offices and homes. Murder-for-hire, gun trafficking, corruption, illegal Chinese cigarettes, stealing money from the taxpayer, and chiropractic bribery – these are the favored crimes of the “Filthy Four” Democrats!

1) New York Assemblyman William Scarborough’s office raided over possible travel expense fraud

DEMOCRAT William Scarborough had his home and offices raided by the FBI in an attempt to investigate the claim that he had fudged his travel expenses and cheated the taxpayer out of thousands of dollars. So far this year he’s put in for $10,350 in total expenses, while last year he claimed $28,438 in reimbursements, and $33,986 in 2012!

While Willie “the drifter” Scarborough hasn’t been formally charged, his denial of the accusations carry a very interesting tidbit that might signal the trouble he’s really in:

“They said to me for, example ‘All right we’d like for you to take responsibility and help us if you know of any corruption,’ and the reality is I don’t know of any corruption because if anything seems to come my way, I try to get out of it,” he said.

 Wait a minute – his defense for not knowing about corruption is saying that whenever it comes his way he avoids it? Doesn’t that imply he knows about corruption?

2) North Carolina Mayor resigns after corruption arrest!

DEMOCRAT Mayor Patrick Cannon resigned in disgrace after being arrested on corruption charges:

He is accused of accepting more than $48K in cash, airline tickets, hotel rooms and an apartment from undercover FBI agents.

How did they nab Pat “surefire” Canon? The old “let’s act like chiropractors trying to buy legislation” trick! C’mon Pat, that’s the oldest one in the book! Hope he at least got a massage out of it before FBI agents crashed the party and raided his offices and home:

They were also searching for a leather briefcase that agents say they stuffed with cash for the February visit to the mayor’s office.

If convicted on all charges, Cannon faces up to 50 years in prison and $1.5 million in fines.

Yikes! If he did receive some chiropractic massages, they certainly did not have a happy ending.

3) Rhode Island Speaker of the House resigns after offices and home raided by the FBI!

DEMOCRAT Speaker of the House Gordon Fox couldn’t speak his way out of the FBI raiding his own house, and his offices, but so far, he also hasn’t been charged:

With no public warning Friday, agents from the Rhode Island State Police, US attorney’s office, FBI, and the criminal investigation division of the Internal Revenue Service swarmed the speaker’s office, told employees to step outside, and then hauled away boxes of potential evidence. Agents also visited Fox’s home in Providence. The investigators executed two federal search warrants, said Jim Martin, a spokesman for Peter F. Neronha, the US attorney for Rhode Island.

Fox announced Saturday he would resign the speakership he has held for four years and will not run again for the House seat he first won in 1992. He has not directly addressed the substance of the investigation.

Gordie “the Cipher” Fox was the first openly gay House speaker, and whatever the Feds think they have on him is still a mystery, but we sincerely doubt he’d hang up his spurs without there being some skeletons in the closet! No pun intended.

4) Leland “the Gun-Grabber” Yee’s gun trafficking to Islamist rebels with his sidekick, “Shrimp Boy”!

It doesn’t get much slimier than DEMOCRAT Leland Yee’s incredible story of hypocritical gun trafficking. The California state Senator was arrested along with twenty-five of his pals on Thursday, including Raymond “Shrimp Boy” Chow, who the Feds believe presided over Chinatown murders like an Obamacare death panel judge! Amazingly, Leland Yee was caught on tape telling an FBI undercover operative that he could import weapons from Russia through Newark, New Jersey and supply them to whomever he wanted.

On his client list was the MILF (no joking), a group of Islamist rebels attempting to take over the Philippines! And to top it all off, Yee was a virulent, dedicated advocate of gun control, and even wanted to restrict sales of violent video games! For the children, of course.

It’s been a rough week for Democrats. Even before the 2014 midterms, Democrats are retiring, running from Obamacare, or possibly even going to federal prison. Illegal Alien Got Food Stamps, Social Security, Housing For 20 Years

Never Pad a Dime into Social Security and not from this Country and Gets it!

Outrage is spreading all across the country as more and more is revealed about illegal alien, mother and Florida resident- Marita Nelson. Nelson, a middle aged mother of seven, is unemployed and has just been caught abusing the advantages of the United States Government- and she isn’t even a citizen. To make matters much worse, Nelson admits to take advantage of welfare, food stamps, child support, federal housing and more, for over twenty years!

Marita Nelson arrived in Florida by swimming from Rio Grande. After arriving she began making a life for herself by abusing the American government- and she is proud of it. Every single month Nelson rakes in a minimum of a $1,000 in federal aid for her and her kids without doing one days work- even without being a legal citizen! She isn’t alone either. This is why illegal immigration is such a huge issue in America- because of leeches like Marita Nelson taking advantage of the system and bankrupting the nation.
