Pelosi: the Founding Fathers Would Totally Support Obamacare

America’s Founding Fathers fiercely held to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness—values which Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) claimed align seamlessly with Obamacare.

Pelosi explained why the law is “very sound policy” during a press conference Friday:

 To go to back to our founders once again, they sacrificed it all for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. This law, the affordable care act, is about a healthier life, the liberty to pursue your happiness. That is solid policy, and the mandate is central to that.

This argument should be added to the montage of lies being promulgated by the Obama administration.

More than half of Americans oppose Obamacare and 56% claim the law is more about bolstering government control than it is about helping individuals get health care.

The millions kicked off their insurance certainly do not find the policy freeing, neither do millennials forced to pay for healthcare feel liberated.

Obamacare is precisely the type of overbearing government policy that the Founders would have fought against:

Pelosi really ought to know her history better. Perhaps this way she could help protect rather than destroy the values for which the Founders fought.

Pelosi is neither an idiot or misinformed.

She is a bold faced liar. Period.

I really can't believe someone who is as well educated and from a long-time political family as Pelosi is or could be so stupid or ill-informed. Either she is suffering from some kind of age related dementia or she's a lying liberal. And in this case she's not even clever. The last group of folks a progressive liberal like Pelosi should reference are the founding fathers, they're "old school". Pelosi is new school. The founders are anathema to the progressive social democrat like Pelosi. 

The bottom line is, the well intended Democrats blew it. Obamacare was a Frankenstein's pig in a poke and now Pelosi et al are trying to smear lipstick on their monstrous creation. If Obamacare survives, it will because the American people have settled. After years of economic mismanagement and economic woes, the average American has given up. The country no longer demands the best from its politicians and legislators, it no longer accepts nothing less than the best. IOW, the US has become a welfare nation. Whatever scraps San Fran Nan and her peers throw under the table is OK with us. The housing sector collapse and the financial sector collapse was partly the goob's fault. Congress and the President are killing us and have been for a long time. We deserve better.
