Controversial Nation of Islam leader and civil rights advocate Louis Farrakhan delivered some unbelievable remarks at the Metropolitan AME Church in Washington, D.C., yesterday.
The monologue, delivered in the wake of the Charleston shootings that left 9 churchgoers dead, touched upon what Farrakhan thinks is being said about the tragedy behind closed doors:
“White folks march with you because they don’t want you upsetting the city,” he said.“They don’t give a damn about them 9. When they arrested that skunk, they took him to the Burger King.”
Farrakhan spent most of his vitriol on remarks regarding the recent controversy surrounding the Confederate flag.
He thinks the moves made by South Carolina and online retailers haven’t gone far enough:
“I don’t know what the hell the fight is about over the Confederate flag! We need to put the American flag down because we’ve caught as much hell under that as the Confederate flag!”“Who are we fighting today? It’s the people that carry the American flag,” Farrakhan said. “What flag do the police have? What flag flies over the non-Justice Department? What flag flies over the White House?”
He added one more slight against the American flag:
“What the hell is the use of us paying allegiance to a flag under which we get no justice?”
Not a very unifying message in the wake of the Charleston shooting. The White House has yet to comment on Farrakhan’s remarks.
