In California, the president of Planned Parenthood is defending her organization and denying any involved in illegal activity. In an interview on KPIX 5, Heather Saunders Estes said, “What we do is legal and ethical and we’re proud of it. These videos are not about tissue donation, these videos are to draw your attention to abortion and to draw your attention to the defunding of Planned Parenthood.”
As LifeNews previously reported, in five undercover videos released by the Center of Medical Progress, Planned Parenthood’s top executives are haggling over the cost of aborted babies’ body parts, admitting to altering abortion procedures to procure salable organs and casually discussing ways their doctors can “crush” unborn babies to obtain fully intact parts.
CBS News reports that Estes is the CEO of the Planned Parenthood chapter in Northern California. During the interview, she also said the money received from tissue donation only covers “hard costs involved with the handling and transfer of the material.” She concluded, “We’re very proud of offering that opportunity to women to donate tissue for life-saving medical research.”
Unfortunately, Estes is simply repeating Planned Parenthood’s rhetoric and not actually responding to the footage. Cecile Richards, the President and CEO of Planned Parenthood, said something similar to Estes in July. In an interview with ABC News, she said, “These activists don’t care about women’s health care,” she says — claiming that all pro-life people care about is trying to “entrap doctors.” Then in a video message, she said, “I want to be really clear. The allegation that Planned Parenthood profits in any way from tissue donation is not true.”
Obviously, Planned Parenthood is trying to get the focus off their lucrative business and avoid important questions by blaming pro-lifers. The videos easily bring up multiple concerns: Are they profiting from any of their “tissue donation services?” Can Planned Parenthood be trusted to make women their number one priority when they are altering medical procedures to procure intact fetal parts? By altering abortion procedures, are they breaking federal law?
To be clear, altering abortion procedures to procure organs for harvesting, delivering intact babies and selling their parts for profit are all illegal activities.
Then there’s the question regarding how Planned Parenthood’s abortionists obtain fully intact organs. In the fifth video, the Director of Research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast, Melissa Farrell, says, “If we alter our process, and we are able to obtain intact fetal cadavers, we can make it part of the budget that any dissections are this, and splitting the specimens into different shipments is this. It’s all just a matter of line items.”
This statement is concerning because it could mean Planned Parenthood is breaking the federal Born Alive Infant Protection Act to obtain fully intact “human cadavers.” The Born Alive bill requires abortion facilities, hospitals and other places that do abortions to provide appropriate medical care for a baby born alive after a failed abortion or purposefully birthed to “let die.”
The most recent Planned Parenthood expose’ video, which follows Senate Democrats defeating a bill to de-fund Planned Parenthood, makes it appear the Planned Parenthood abortion business may be selling the “fully intact” bodies of unborn babies purposefully born alive and left to die.
As LifeNews reported, the first video of undercover footage shows Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s Senior Director of Medical Services, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, describing how Planned Parenthood sells the body parts of aborted unborn children and admitting she uses partial-birth abortions to supply intact body parts.
In the second video, Planned Parenthood doctor Mary Gatter discusses the pricing of aborted baby body parts — telling the biotech company officials that the prices for such things as a baby’s liver, head or heart are negotiable. She also tells the officials that she could talk with the Planned Parenthood abortion practitioners to potentially alter the abortion procedure to kill the baby in a way that would best preserve those body parts after the unborn child is killed in the abortion.
So far, 12 states have responded to the Planned Parenthood videos and launched investigations into their abortion and organ harvesting business including South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee,Massachusetts, Kansas, Missouri, Arizona, Indiana, Ohio, Georgia, Texas and Louisiana. The district attorney in Houston Texas is also investigating after the Houston-based Planned Parenthood abortion facility was caught selling aborted babies.
Congress has expanded its investigation into the Planned Parenthood abortion business and three states have revoked taxpayer funding for Planned Parenthood’s abortion business, includingAlabama, New Hampshire and Louisiana.
The full, unedited videos have confirmed that revelations that some aborted baby remains sold by Planned Parenthood go to biotech companies for the purpose of creating “humanized” mice. Meanwhile, Planned Parenthood has been exposed as having sold body parts from aborted babies for as much as 15 years.
