The President may be on the last leg of his two terms in office, but he’s not throwing in the towel on preserving what he views to be his legacy.
In an email comment to the Democratic National Committee, the President made clear how he viewed the GOP debate: As an attack on his presidency.
This comes via Cleveland.com:
Democrats need to “listen carefully to what the Republican candidates for president say, and then hold them accountable for trying to undo all of the hard work we’ve done to move this country forward,” Obama said in an email message sent today by the Democratic National Committee.“I can’t overstate what an important difference you can make by doing this.”
The President explained what he believes to be important milestones of his time in office:
“I’m gonna bet that they’ll all promise to repeal the Affordable Care Act,” he writes. “They’ll all tell us that even though they aren’t scientists, we shouldn’t believe in the science behind climate change. They’ll all want to reverse course on immigration reform and marriage equality.“They’re going to deny all of the progress we’ve made together over these past six years,” he adds.“But here’s the thing: While these Republicans may have bad ideas, they’re still smart politicians. They know how to make policies that will take us in the wrong direction sound like they might actually be pretty good ideas.”
After two terms of the Obama presidency, the latest RCP average of polls shows that only 28.6% of Americans think the U.S. is heading in the right direction, while 63.2% think the U.S. is heading in the wrong direction. Congressional approval remains at a nearly unbelievable low of just 17%.
The issue at stake is that there are Americans who have conflicting views of “progress” for the nation. It is not advancing the interests of the country for politicians to demonize members of the opposition as insincere in their beliefs and desirous of undoing “change” out of sheer vindictiveness.
This applies to both parties.
Americans deserve a real debate on the issues facing the country. Merely claiming that one is “on the side of the angels” is no longer good enough.
Hopefully, in the upcoming Fox News debate Republican candidates will substantively address issues and lay out a well-reasoned agenda to strengthen the nation and achieve shared prosperity.
Because in a lot of Americans’ eyes, these goals represent real “progress.”

Note: I say since Obama wants Iran in his "legacy" if they use one weapon against any Country that was paid for by the Money they got from the Obama lifted sanctions, I Say we hang every Liberal that approved or liked this deal!
