Y’all know how much liberals hate when pesky facts get in the way of their chosen narratives. And even more so when a Republican running for president is SPOT ON when calling them out on it.
So imagine how much liberals freaked when Ted Cruz suggested this week that activists associated with the Black Lives Matter movement are suggesting and celebrating the murder of police officers.
As The Daily Caller writes:
“Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon!” Maybe they meant something else? Ted Cruz just commented on this kind of crap from these “peaceful” activists, so let the wailing and gnashing of teeth begin. Kira Lerner, “Think” “Progress”:
B-b-but… BLM is peaceful! If you don’t count all the violent rhetoric, that is. And all the actual violence. Forget about Ferguson. Forget about Baltimore. And forget about all the people who are going around shooting cops just because they’re cops. Total coincidence, all of it. Right, Wesley Lowery of WaPo?
Wesley is figuratively a reporter.
Black Lives Matter “leader” Johnetta “Netta” Elzie expressed her disbelief about Cruz’s statement to ThinkProgress:
“It’s amazing to me that black people and their allies affirming that Black Lives Matter is somehow celebrating murder,” another leader,. “Nothing about us affirming our own lives has anything to do with ‘embracing and celebrating the murder of police officers.’”
Gee, I can’t imagine where anyone ever got the idea Black Lives Matter is celebrating murder. Perhaps these folks need a quick refresher on some of the things that the Black Lives Matter movement — literally — have done. Like this “peaceful” protest where chanters called for “frying” police officers.
Or if liberals are having a hard time grasping the clear, “Pigs in a blanket, fry ’em like bacon” metaphor, perhaps the below video — in which protesters are shouting, “What do we want? Dead cops! When do we want it? Now!” — communicates the protesters’ intent more clearly. For those who take a more “literal” view of the world.
Or how about this “peaceful” statement from Black Lives Matter activists, which does supporters the courtesy of suggesting HOW they murder white cops:
“Find a mother f**ker that is alone. Snap his ass, and then f***in hang him from a damn tree. Take a picture of it and then send it to the mother f**kers.”
As The Daily Caller aptly writes:
The BLM supporters committing these crimes are responsible for their own actions, of course. But to say that BLM isn’t egging them on? That’s a lie. Just like “Hands Up, Don’t Shoot” was a lie. The whole movement would fall apart if they stopped lying.
It’s too bad Ted Cruz isn’t a Democrat, because criticizing him would be racist.
Indeed.
And too bad the current occupant of the White House does nothing to discourage this hateful rhetoric and appalling violence. Indeed, his silence in calling it out — or, worse, outright condoning of it with his choice of where to focus attention (e.g., the Michael Brown situation vs. the murder of Deputy Sheriff Darren Goforth) — only encourages it.
We need a true leader back in the White House — one who will call this malarkey what it really is, like Ted Cruz is doing. And yes, acknowledge that ALL lives matter.
