Gen. Petraeus was a widely celebrated military leader who oversaw operations in Afghanistan and Iraq and was touted as a potential presidential candidate (NOW WE KNOW WHY HE WAS PROSECUTED—You can’t run for president with that type of background. Wait, yes you can—for example, Hillary Clinton. But then again, his affair with his biographer would have eventually come out so that would have kept him from the presidency as well—wait, never mind, I guess Bill Clinton disproves that theory.), was sentenced to serve two years on probation and to pay an $100,000 fine on Thursday for sharing classified information.
SERIOUSLY—If you’re going to prosecute someone for mishandling classified information, don’t you think the punishment should be more than a fine and probation. No jail time, simply means the Obama administration, Hillary Clinton, or the democratic party in general wanted to discredit Gen. Petraeus and render his ineffective.
