Millions Went To California Dam In Good Shape
The Washington Free Beacon is reporting that of the $34 billion that the State of California received from Obama’s 2009 stimulus package, $0 went to the failing Oroville dam while millions went to a dam that was in ‘good shape’.
From The Free Beacon:
Despite more than a decade of warnings about Oroville, there is no public record of the country’s tallest dam receiving any of the more than $34 billion from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act sent to California for infrastructure projects.Over $22 million in stimulus funds did go toward safety improvements to the Folsom Dam, which was described as in “good shape” at the time the grant was awarded in 2009……Stimulus projects awarded to the state included $2.2 million for “more attractive” sidewalks and $2.5 million for a 205-acre “zero net energy” community on the University of California Davis campus to put a greater “emphasis on walking” and bicycling.
Now the LA Times is reporting that a massive storm is about to hit the area where the dam is located which is just north of Sacramento.
From The LA Times:
Light to moderate rain began falling across Northern California early Thursday and will likely continue for several days, according to the National Weather Service. However, the situation will change substantially Sunday when a larger storm arrives at Oroville and the Feather River basin.“It looks like it’s going to be a pretty good rainmaker,” said NWS meteorologist Mike Smith. “You’re looking at 10 inches from Sunday night to Monday night.”Overall, forecasters have predicted a series of four storms, with the first arriving Thursday, the second arriving Saturday, the third on Sunday night and the fourth on Wednesday of next week. The largest of that train of storms will be the one arriving Sunday night. Much of the water falling across the local mountains and foothills is expected to flow directly into the reservoir. This comes at a time when Lake Oroville is at 88% of capacity and the ground and surrounding foothills are saturated from one of the wettest winters on record
Earlier this week the Gateway Pundit reported that officials had warned that the dam was failing for 12 years yet the state of California did nothing and that Democratic Governor Jerry Brown has been spending $25 billion per yer on illegals aliens.
