Judge Jeanine Pirro Opening Statement - Paul Ryan Needs To Step Down As Speaker Of The House

On Saturday, the day after the failure of Congress, led by Speaker of the House Paul Ryan 

, to deliver a bill to repeal Obamacare as promised by Republicans (since its inception) and President Trump during the 2016 campaign, the president tweeted to Americans, urging them to watch Justice with Judge Jeanine on FOX News Saturday night:

In Judge Jeanine Pirro’s “Opening Statement” we may have learned exactly why the president took the unusual step of promoting a specific television show on a specific date that he wasn’t scheduled to be interviewed on.

Pirro began the show calling for Paul Ryan, who she later referred to as a “RINO” (Republican In Name Only) to step down as Speaker due to his failure to put forth a bill that would unite the various factions of the Republican Party and repeal Obamacare.

“Paul Ryan needs to step down as Speaker of the House,” Judge Jeanine declared with the first words of her opening statement. “The reason? He failed to deliver the votes on his health care bill — the one trumpeted to repeal and replace Obamacare — the one he had seven years to work on — the one he hid under lock and key in the basement of Congress — the one hat had to be pulled to prevent the embarrassment of not having enough votes to pass.”

A fired-up Pirro said that even more embarrassing was the fact that the bill failed even though Republicans have control of both houses of Congress and the presidency.

Republicans for several years have pushed the narrative to voters that if only voters would give them control of the House — then the Senate — then the White House, they could deliver on ending the failed Obamacare healthcare debacle, a 2,700-page behemoth with 20,000 pages of free market-strangling regulations that took over 1/6 of the U.S. economy and has caused both health insurance premiums and deductibles to unnecessarily skyrocket.

Judge Jeanine said that the repeal of Obamacare was the “hallmark” of then-candidate Trump’s presidential campaign and she outright questioned Ryan’s motives and character for writing a bill that had no chance in passing, noting that Americans elected a “complete outsider” in Trump who she said was “beholding to no one.”

Pirro went on to blast Ryan as an elitist, out of touch insider who caused President Trump to waste important finite political capital during his all-important first 100 days in office:

“And Speaker Ryan, you come in with all your swagger and experience and you sell them a bill of goods which ends up a complete and total failure. And you allow our president in his first 100 days to come out of the box like that? 

Based on what? 

Your legislative expertise?

Your knowledge of the arcane ins and outs of the bill-writing process? 

Your relationships?

What? Your drinks at The Hay-Adams with your pals?

Even though Trump both publicly and privately endorsed Paul Ryan’s failed health care bill, named the “American Health Care Act” (AHCA), a bill conservatives lambasted from the beginning as Obamacare 2.0, RINOCARE, Swampcare, or Obamacare Lite, because it left in place the big government Obamacare infrastructure and regulations that wouldn’t result in lower costs and would enable a future Democrat administration to easily restart Obamacare, Judge Jeanine, an avid Trump supporter, said that none of the blame rests on the president’s shoulders.

Judge Jeanine also takes a shot at House Whip Steve Scalise 

, who she says should have known they didn’t have the votes to pass the bill before embarrassing the president with it having to be pulled because of lack of votes.

“How could you possibly misjudge this?” she asked. “And where was Whip Scalise, in all of this? How tough a lift was this and why start with this [health care] if you’re not sure you’ve got the votes now?” she wondered.

Judge Jeanine said that she had not talked to the president before the show but one can only wonder why President Trump would use his online megaphone to tout the episode if he didn’t know she’d be calling for Ryan, RINO John “Bendover” Boehner’s hand-picked replacement, to resign.

Pirro said that the reason why that Americans hold Ryan and his colleagues in “such low esteem” is because he “and all the other RINOs” were working against the interests of the American people.
