DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz is expected to release his report in early September showing evidence indicating that former FBI Director James Comey was misleading Trump about being a target of an investigation.
According to investigative reporter Paul Sperry, Comey was running a “counterintelligence assessment” on Trump on the sly. Comey didn’t even need to keep files or get surveillance warrants on Trump, he may just have covertly made Trump the subject of investigation by spying on him incidentally. Comey of course denies he did this in book ‘A Higher Loyalty.’
Comey had an agent inside the White House reporting back to the FBI about Trump and his aides, sources tell Paul Sperry.
James Comey refused to say publicly that Trump was not under investigation, something he reassured Trump in private, but never declared publicly.
It is now being revealed why Comey privately said under oath twice that Trump wasn’t under investigation, yet refused to come out and say it publicly.

Now an answer is emerging. Sources tell RealClearInvestigations that Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz will soon file a report with evidence indicating that Comey was misleading the president. Even as he repeatedly assured Trump that he was not a target, the former director was secretly trying to build a conspiracy case against the president, while at times acting as an investigative agent. Two U.S. officials briefed on the inspector general’s investigation of possible FBI misconduct said Comey was essentially “running a covert operation against” the president, starting with a private “defensive briefing” he gave Trump just weeks before his inauguration. They said Horowitz has examined high-level FBI text messages and other communications indicating Comey was actually conducting a “counterintelligence assessment” of Trump during that January 2017 meeting in New York.In addition to adding notes of his meetings and phone calls with Trump to the official FBI case file, Comey had an agent inside the White House who reported back to FBI headquarters about Trump and his aides, according to other officials familiar with the matter. The agent, Anthony Ferrante, who specialized in cyber crime, left the White House around the same time Comey was fired and soon joined a security consulting firm, where he contracted with BuzzFeed to lead the news site’s efforts to verify the Steele dossier, in connection with a defamation lawsuit.Knowledgeable sources inside the Trump White House say Comey carved out an extraordinary new position for Ferrante, which allowed him to remain on reserve status at the FBI while working in the White House as a cybersecurity adviser.“In an unprecedented action, Comey created a new FBI reserve position for Ferrante, enabling him to have an ongoing relationship with the agency, retaining his clearances and enabling him to come back in [to bureau headquarters],” said a former National Security Council official who requested anonymity.“Between the election and April 2017, when Ferrante finally left the White House, the Trump NSC division supervisor was not allowed to get rid of Ferrante,” he added, “and Ferrante continued working — in direct conflict with the no-contact policy between the White House and the Department of Justice.”
Horowitz, just like Barr and Durham, is focusing on the shady January 2017 meeting that took place between Comey, the intel chiefs and president-elect Donald Trump in the Trump Tower New York.
On January 5th, 2017, then-FBI Director James Comey held a secret meeting in the Oval Office before he traveled to Trump Tower New York to brief president-elect Donald Trump on the Hillary-funded junk Russia dossier.
This unusual meeting to discuss the dossier and the FBI’s Russia investigation that took place in January of 2017 in Obama’s White House was discovered in February of 2018 by then-Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA).
Among the people in the meeting was Barack Obama, James Comey (FBI Director), Susan Rice (NatSec Advisor), Sally Yates (Deputy Attorney General), James Clapper (DNI Chief), John Brennan (CIA Chief) and then-Vice President Joe Biden.
The next day on January 6th, 2017, Comey headed over to Trump Tower, New York and briefed then-president elect Donald Trump on the salacious parts of the Russia dossier — Comey lied to Trump and told him he was not under investigation and that he had nothing to worry about — by this time, one FISA warrant on Carter Page had already been granted and the FBI presented the fake dossier to the FISA judges as credible intel.
IG Horowitz has reviewed hihg-level FBI text messages and other means of communications that indicate the FBI many have used this briefing at Trump Tower as part of their reason to carry out a “counterintelligence assessment” op against Trump and all of his senior staff (Pence, Priebus and Flynn) who attended the briefing.
Paul Sperry reports that after FBI agent Anthony Ferrante left his position, a series of Obama holdovers continued to make sure Ferrante still had access to the White House even though it was in direct conflict with the “no-contact policy” between the White House and the DOJ.
