The Department of Justice handed down federal indictments on Thursday against four people who were arrested in connection with the murder of El Dorado County Sheriff Deputy Brian Ishmael.
The charges handed down concern marijuana that was illegally grown — plus the illegal discharging of a firearm.
The indictments also confirm that two of the suspects arrested for murdering the sheriff were in this country illegally.
Deputy Ishmael worked for the sheriff’s department for four years.
He was a husband and the father of three children.
Here’s what Townhall.com shared about this case: “On October 23rd, Deputy Brian Ishmael was killed and another deputy wounded after responding to a call about stolen marijuana crops at a private residence.”
“Deputy Ishmael was shot and killed after immediately coming under fire by an unknown number of people.”
“The injured deputy was taken to a local hospital and released after undergoing surgery,” the outlet also reported.
“Juan Carlos Vasquez, who has been arrested on suspicion of murder and assault with a deadly weapon, and Ramiro Bravo Morales, who has also been charged as an accessory, were both identified as illegal aliens.”

In what can only be called a total slap in the face to police officers everywhere, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) actually skipped the memorial service for Deputy Ishmael, according to reports.

It is customary for city officials, especially mayors and governors, to attend the memorial services of officers who are killed in the line of duty.
It’s a show of respect for their service and sacrifice as they stand in solidarity with grieving officers.
Gavin Newsom did not do any of that.
Instead, he skipped the memorial service altogether — and in doing so, he sent a clear message about how he feels about law enforcement.
The kicker is, the memorial service was held at a location that was about an hours drive from Newsom’s office.
To make matters worse, he didn’t bother to send a representative.
Why did Newsom avoid the service?
Was he worried his appearance at the service would trigger his radical base of supporters who care more about illegal criminals than they do about American citizens?
The responses online to Gavin’s snub were understandably harsh.
“Shame on you @GavinNewsom for not showing up for Deputy Ishmael’s funeral Tuesday! It was tackier than heck to give radio silence on that very sad day,” wrote one person.
Another person wrote, “Why did Gavin Newsom skip slain Deputy Brian Ishmael’s memorial? The answer may be hideous.”

“By not going to the memorial, Gov. Newsom doesn’t add more attention to the illegal aliens who are charged with the deputy’s murder,” said still another.
“His narrative is that illegal immigrants pose zero danger to citizens.”
“He wants this story buried.”
