The Mayor of Berkeley, California spoke with CNN this week in the aftermath of the shooting of Daunte Wright in Minnesota; saying his city will stop enforcing “minor traffic violations” to “reduce racial disparities.”
“Berkeley is ending police stops for minor traffic violations. This is to reduce racial disparities in policing out comes,” said Mayor Jesse Arreguin.
“We’re not going to pull people over for having an air freshener, or having expired license tags, or not signaling properly,” he added.
