Ron DeSantis is no fan of Dr. Anthony Fauci. America's most popular unelected government bureaucrat can be polarizing. You either enjoy living in constant fear and look to him for permission to live your life, or you're not a mindless nincompoop and enjoy freedom. Ron DeSantis, America's Governor, famously decided early to do the opposite of what Fauci said. It's what made him America's Governor and what made Florida a target destination for people leaving authoritarian states.
One of the reasons that makes Fauci such a Fauci, besides his propensity for email, is his constant flip-flopping. 2019 Fauci would actually get kicked off of YouTube. To drive that point home, Team DeSantis has announced a new pair of Fauci-Flip Flops. You know, for when you enjoy Florida beaches.
DeSantis can be polarizing himself. He opposes Joe Biden's narrative, and the left can't have that. But even reporters are acknowledging when it comes to policies like schools opening and masking, the criticisms of those policies have yet to match the reality. And this is from a Florida reporter who is highly critical of DeSantis' "deemphasis" on vaccines. Not exactly a DeSantis stan like you and I are.
The only sad thing is, the next time Rand Paul has Anthony "Literally the Science" Fauci under oath, he can't tag in Ron DeSantis and let him have a turn. That would be gangbusters.
