The "Kid was awesome. Helping take out the "Garbage"! It's great he went home that night
A man and three women perhaps figured they'd easily lay a beating on a lone 17-year-old boy as he was reporting to work Tuesday morning — and even steal his car.
But the kid turned the tables on them.
What happened?
The teen arrived at his job at the Motel 6 on Hotel Circle in Mission Valley just off Interstate 8 when a vehicle pulled up behind him, San Diego Police told KGTV-TV.
The group in the second car claimed the teen cut off their vehicle in a road rage incident on the freeway, the San Diego Union-Tribune reported, citing police Lt. Jonathan Lowe in an interview with OnScene TV.
The paper added that the confrontation at the motel occurred about 6 a.m. — and then escalated into a physical altercation. Police said as the teen was being attacked, the man from the group got into the teen's car, KGTV said.
Then things got interesting.
“Realizing his car was about to get stolen, it seems the victim jumped into his car and the suspect started driving away with the victim in the passenger seat," Lowe added to the station. "At some point during the drive, the suspect allegedly pulled out a handgun. In response to a gun being pointed at him, the victim allegedly stabbed the suspect one time in the upper torso.”
What happened to the carjacker and teen victim?
The suspect pulled over, got out of the car, and ran to his companions’ vehicle, after which he was dropped off at a trauma hospital, where he was reported in serious condition, Lowe said, according to the Union-Tribune.
Officers went to the hospital to detain the man in connection with the incident, the paper added.
The teen suffered minor injuries and also was transported to the hospital, the Union-Tribune noted, adding that no other details were released.
