Biden’s White House argues the Republicans’ oil bill that would prevent the Department of Energy from releasing barrels of oil from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve will result in oil shortages and raise prices.
“The House Republicans’ latest attempt to raise prices for American families will result in oil supply shortages and help Putin’s war aims by interfering with our ability to release oil,” Karine Jean-Pierre said as she introduced Granholm.

Just two years ago the Democrats blocked President Trump from filling the Strategic Oil Reserves at $24 per barrel.
