How many oyster farmers from the rugged Maine coastline sport Nazi tattoos?
How desperate are Democrats to take the House? Despite some reports to the contrary, they are gathering together to endorse the disgusting Graham Platner of Maine for the Senate, facing down Republican Sen. Susan Collins.
According to The Hill:
Democrats are coalescing around progressive political outsider Graham Platner and his bid to oust incumbent Republican Sen. Susan Collins in Maine after primary rival Gov. Janet Mills ended her struggling bid Thursday.
Mills, who is term limited as governor, jumped into the race late last year as one of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-N.Y.) top recruits, but she had trouble gaining traction in polls and fundraising while Platner surged ahead — despite various controversies around his campaign. She ended her bid Thursday in a statement without endorsing Platner.
And look at their rebranding!
And suddenly, he's an oyster farmer! Because he once ran a boutique farm of them. A rugged, down-to-earth man-of-the-people, complete with a union suit shirt, a stubbly beard, a weather-beaten face, the wind blowing through his hair, and Maine's natural waterline beauty all around him. Notice the trendy retro lettering, which is all the rage these days among progressives.
Sound like the guy who expressed contempt for rural and country voters? The guy who called himself a 'communist'? The guy who sported a Nazi tattoo?

Fixtya!
Yes, this is the toad with the bona fide Nazi Totenkopf tattoo. And yeah, he knew what it was, his claims to ignorance, 'troubled times,' 'war souvenir,' and other tripe explanations notwithstanding.
And as far as I have been able to tell, he hasn't removed it.
But here we are, watching the Democrats gather round him, convinced he's their wave of the future.
Here is Chuck Schumer embracing this freak, as David Harsanyi noticed, in a piece for RealClearPolitics:
Chuck Schumer and Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee Chairwoman Kirsten Gillibrand immediately backed Platner, proving that there's virtually nothing a leftist can say or do that is disqualifying.
So, for 20 years, you've had a Totenkopf tattoo, which depicts a skull and crossbones, most famously used by Hitler's Schutzstaffel, the paramilitary organization that led, planned and executed the Holocaust?
No problem!
Sure, he's an embarrassment -- an extremist, a Nazi identifier, a radical who will embarrass the heck out of the Democrats if he is allowed near the levers of power. But no matter. He's a Democrat and they want a majority. They have just proven that they will say anything to get it, hoping to fool the voters just long enough for him to step into power.
