Another idiotic speech just by opening his mouth

Obama: Government Spending 'Made This Country Great'

Last night, President Obama spoke at the Portland Museum of Art in Maine. There, he attacked his political opponents’ philosophy:

They've got one message and that is, we're going to make sure that we cut people's taxes even more – so that by every objective measure our deficit is worse and we will slash government investments that have made this country great, not because it's going to balance the budget, but because it's driven by our ideological vision about how government should be. That's their agenda, pure and simple.

Obviously the takeaway line here is that “government investments … have made this country great.” That is insipid. The American people and their hard work, perseverance, and creativity make this country great, not bureaucrats in Washington spending huge sums of money in order to generate mediocre results. In another speech on Friday, Obama suggested that Republicans suffered from “madness” for opposing him.

The notion that cutting taxes creates deficits – not his wildly out-of-control spending, the largest single spending spree in the history of mankind – is pure Obama, suggesting that all money and rights source back to the government, not the people. The idea that Obama is suddenly a budget-balancer is hilarious, especially when you recognize that by not cutting spending, the only way to balance the budget is to ratchet up taxes dramatically.

But this speech is doing to be President Obama’s blueprint for the election cycle. And there’s more to it than his simple Big Government view of politics.

He ticked off his list of accomplishments in tending to “a set of challenges that had been building up for decades.” What are those accomplishments? Ending “don’t ask, don’t tell” – hardly a landmark proposition, considering that President Clinton instituted it in the first place. Signing the Lilly Ledbetter Act, a terrible piece of legislation that extends the statute of limitations indefinitely for discrimination lawsuits – basically, a sop to the trial lawyers. Investment “in clean energy” – that’s companies like Solyndra. And, of course, Obamacare, which is blatantly unconstitutional and puts our entire economy on the verge of bankruptcy. So there’s that.

The speech goes on with his litany of “accomplishments” that aren’t actually accomplishments – ending American involvement in Iraq and handing power over to the Iranians; chaos in Afghanistan; reading terrorists Miranda rights that they shouldn’t have. Lies, half-truths, and nonsense masquerading as a winning record. And he spells out further goals: moving beyond fossil fuels (how?), investing in infrastructure (remember those non-existent shovel-ready projects?), and reforming immigration (what do you suggest?). So if we’re interested, four more years of incompetent world-changing are just around the corner.

The speech also featured Obama’s capitalization on the personal popularity of his wife, Michelle, who has become one of his most successful fundraising tools. It featured an insane amount of whining, too. There’s his self-proclaimed martyrdom:

So there's a lot at stake. But the good news is, as I travel around the country, part of what sustained me each and every day – people sometimes ask, boy, you're working pretty long hours and people are calling you pretty nasty names, and how do you put up with all that?

How many people truly ask President Obama how he works so hard and gets called names? And how many presidents have whined about it in public?

And the whining didn’t stop there. We got President Obama’s “Blame Bush Without Mentioning Him” routine:

We've gone through a tough three years, this country – as tough as any in our lifetime. The worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. The economic aftermath that left millions without work. A collapsed housing market. It's hard to remember sometimes how perilous things were when I was sworn in. The month I was sworn into office, we lost 800,000 jobs in that month alone. We had lost almost 4 million in the months before I took office. And then we would just keep on shedding jobs for the first few months that I was sworn in. The banks were locked up, so even blue-chip companies couldn't get credit. People, I think, genuinely thought that you might see a world financial meltdown. And nobody exactly knew where the bottom was. The stock market, by the way, was about half of what it is today.

Notice how he blames Bush for job losses on his own watch. Subtle.

His last line is a killer, though:

If you are just as determined, and you're willing to work just as hard as we did four years ago, then we're going to win. And more importantly, we're going to make sure that this country is everything that it deserves to be.

What does that even mean? What do we deserve to be?

For Obama, the answer is obvious: we deserve to be bankrupt. Which means great. Or something.

I’ve had enough and so should all of us.
Addressing a crowd at a community college in the Maryland suburbs of D.C.; Barack Obama’s latest attack on his GOP challengers was to deride and mock them for their positions on energy policy, and criticism of government alternative-energy “investments”.
Here’s a quote: “If some of these folks were around when Columbus set sail, they must have been founding members of the ‘flat earth society.’ They would not have believed that the world was round.”
Okay, it’s kind of a joke and got laughs from the pro-Obama gathering, and both sides use hyperbole to curry favor from a crowd - I get that. And we could sit here and pick apart how inaccurate he was when mocking various historical figures, but Barack Obama traffics in so many myths, it’s become almost a waste of time going through all of them.
But he continued to ridicule those who dared to challenge his failed record on gas prices, unemployment, and economic growth - so the following absurdity is worth pointing out:
“There have always been folks who are the naysayers and don’t believe in the future and don’t believe in trying to do things differently.”
Wait – what? We don’t believe in trying things differently? Hmmm, let’s review:
Barack Obama is a Harvard-educated Constitutional lawyer, yet his signature piece of legislation, ObamaCare, is unconstitutional.
Must be that whole “trying things differently” thing?
Here’s a guy who’s new budget was defeated in The House Of Representatives by a vote of 414-to-ZERO!
I know his budgets have more zeroes than the Japanese Air Force in World War II, but he couldn’t get a SINGLE VOTE from any Democrat? Trying things differently, I guess.
The President now repeatedly demonizes one of the greatest jobs creating, and tax revenue producing sectors we have – the oil industry – and wants to spend more on “green” energy.
When he starts using a teleprompter that runs on algae, then I’ll get on board.
The fact is, ExxonMobil has put billions into the exploration and development of alternative fuels – including algae!
So it’s not like we don’t believe in the future or trying to do things differently - we just don’t think a giant taxpayer slush fund should be created to waste trillions doing it.
So to divert attention away from gas prices doubling on his watch, he goes out and makes jokes about conservatives being members of the “Flat Earth Society”?
If Barack Obama, Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi were around during the time of the Industrial Revolution – there wouldn't have been one!
This is a man who thinks unemployment checks create jobs, we need to spend more to get out of debt, and that government providing free health care will make costs go down.
I don’t remember Henry Ford, Steve Jobs, the Wright Brothers, or Thomas Edison inventing their products on the taxpayer dime.
Barack Obama has no serious plans, no reasonable ideas, and now, a bad record to run on, so instead he relies on ad hominem attacks, class warfare, snide remarks, childish name-calling and contempt for the average American.
He’s stupid, or he’s hoping that the majority of voters are come this November. There, I said it. Rinse and repeat.
PS: Here's something fun: Give the gas station attendant a hundred bucks, and say you want to fill up your tank. Magically, Barack Obama’s “Hope and Change” message transforms into, “you hope you get back some change.”
PPS: Bring it, baby.

Obama Declares War on Supreme Court

Today, President Obama effectively declared war on the Supreme Court. Speaking from the Rose Garden, he suggested that the “unelected” Supreme Court must avoid the “extraordinary … unprecedented” measure of striking down his unconstitutional Obamacare regime:

Ultimately, I am confident that the Supreme Court will not take what would be an unprecedented, extraordinary step of overturning a law that was passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress …

This is not the first time Obama has threatened the Supreme Court. Back in January 2010, in his State of the Union Address, he dramatically misrepresented the Supreme Court’s stance on campaign finance, and explained, “Last week, the Supreme Court reversed a century of law to open the floodgates for special interests – including foreign corporations – to spend without limit in our elections.” Justice Alito shook his head and mouthed, “Not true.” That’s because it wasn’t true – but Obama’s interpretation of Constitutional law is lacking at best, deeply dishonest at worst.

Obama is now tackling a strategy stated by Rep. Jim Clyburn this morning – he’s going after the Supreme Court as his bĂȘte noire, knowing they cannot respond. But he’s bound to fail for a simple reason: the American public understands that the law is unconstitutional. Obama is no FDR, and nobody is interested in packing the courts to raise their taxes and devastate the economic future of the country.

Unfortunately for Obama, he also made the tactical misstep of explaining why if the individual mandate is found unconstitutional, the entire law should be struck down:

I think the justices should understand, in the absence of an individual mandate, you cannot have a mechanism to ensure that people with pre-existing conditions can actually have health care.

In other words, the individual mandate lies at the heart of Obamacare; without that beating heart, the rest of the law becomes unworkable.

In the end, Obama was left to argue that there is a “human element” to the law that would require the justices to rule in its favor. He’s calling on them to use his famed empathy standard in dealing with the constitutionality of laws. Unfortunately, it seems that at least five justices understand there’s no jurisdiction over empathy for the third branch.

Tale of Two Trayvon Scandals: NBC, ABC News Go All-In For Obama

Without any kind of correction or even an update to a previous story that said the exact opposite, ABC News has just released enhanced video that shows a massive gash on the top George Zimmerman's head the night he was taken into custody (but not charged) with the shooting of 17 year-old Trayvon Martin. If you remember, it was just five days ago when ABC News released the same video without enhancement and a headline that declared: "Trayvon Martin Video Shows No Blood or Bruises on George Zimmerman."

In his article today about the release of the enhanced video, John Sexton writes, "At this point, ABC needs to explain why it took them until today to correct the record. Enhancing 4-5 minutes of video is not a five day job." Another question I would ask is why would ABC News declaratively say the video showed no "blood or bruises" when they knew they had the technology to enhance it and had yet to do so.
Part of the answer for this appalling behavior can be found over at NBC News, another outlet currently embroiled in a similar scandal, this one surrounding the "selective editing" of the 9-1-1 call Zimmerman made to police the night of the shooting. Simply put, NBC edited the tape to make Zimmerman sound as though he was racially profiling Martin:
Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. He looks black.
It was later discovered that the unedited 9-1-1 conversation went like this:
Zimmerman: This guy looks like he’s up to no good. Or he’s on drugs or something. It’s raining and he’s just walking around, looking about.
Dispatcher: OK, and this guy — is he black, white or Hispanic?
Zimmerman: He looks black.
It's worth noting that this edit, which the Washington Post's Erik Wemple called "high editorial malpractice well worthy of the investigation," did not appear on some MSNBC fever swamp show. This unthinkable and inexcusable act occurred on the NBC's legendary "Today Show."
Furthermore, it wasn't the MSM or any of our "esteemed" media watchdogs who caught these outlets red-handed. In the case of ABC News, The Daily Caller was the first to raise questions, and in the case of NBC, it was Fox News' Sean Hannity and Newsbusters. Or, new media.
So what's going on here? Why are ABC and NBC News joining CBS (remember Rathergate?) in the infamous pantheon of being caught red-handed engaging in the worst kind of journalistic corruption imaginable?
In a word: Desperation.
Obama's in trouble. He's been community organizing America for a number of months now and today he sits at 47% as Republicans are just starting to coalesce around our likely nominee, Mitt Romney. Obama's only chance of winning reelection is get his base out and the only way to gin up the base for a failed president is to get them angry and scared.
From Occupy Wall Street to attacking the Catholic Church to the rise of Obama's war against a non-existent war on women to the hypocritical crusade against Rush Limbaugh, nothing yet has gotten Obama up over 50%, which is where an incumbent needs to be going into an election. Four rounds of national community organizing and no luck in the polls.
What to do?
Well, then came round five, which we'll title: "He Would Look Like My Son," a presidential declaration that (with the help of Al Sharpton) pushed a local crime story (in a crucial swings state) into a nationally divisive racial flamethrower. This is what community organizers do. With the help of their media accomplices, community organizers get out the vote by exploiting tragedies, enflaming racial passions, and dividing communities.
ABC and especially NBC News want Obama to win reelection. The motives behind this disgraceful behavior isn’t any more complicated than that. Both threw out phony stories that they apparently thought would be game changers. And if you want to throw a little more media malfeasance into the mix, how about all this ridiculous "white Hispanic" nonsense.
What ABC and NBC did, however, is useful. Going into November, it's good to know just how low the MSM is willing to stoop in order to see Obama win a second term. Intentionally and maliciously enflaming racial division with false information is about as low as it gets.
And it's only April.

This was a dead on point on a blog spot

The obama administration:
Stimulus (787 BILLIONS $$$) - whom did it stimulate? failed corporation that are obamas largest
campaign donors.
Remember, we had to have this stimulus to keep unemployment from going over 8%, yeah, riiiight.
Healthcare - he spent more time looking for a dog, than he did on obamacare. Know why? liberals had this healthcare plan ready for printing years ago, they know what's in it, they knew from day one what was in it, they just didn't want the American public or the GOP to know, hence, their rush to pass it and not giving the adequate time for the GOP to debate the issues.
Exempt well over a 100 trade unions from obamacare mandates, just a nice fella to do such a thing
Solyndra - Touts them as an exemplary company, only to go belly up a year later, their executives receive huge bonuses AFTER FILING FOR BANKRUPTCY. Was there a meeting on capitol hill by all the democrats to object to such bonuses? Did they want to impose the same kinds of tax on them as they did on the AIG employees who had as much right if not more than these execs of a FAILED COMPANY personally endorsed by OBAMA THE FAILURE. Were there bus loads of SEIU thugs who showed up on their doorsteps to voice their objections the same as they did when they threatened the AIG emplyees and their families? where was the press when these bonuses were paid out? where are they now? why is there no outrage over this? Why? these execs are some of obamas largest campaign donors, nuff said.
Gulf oil spill - how long was it before he even stepped to the forefront to take a stand? 90 days? How many times did he go golfing while this tragic event took place? And to boot, instead of taking care of the seriousness of the spill, instead, he used it to push his green energy campaign. Sick.
In contempt of court to place moratoriums on drilling in the gulf of mexico then offered tax payer dollars to Petrobras so they cold explore for oil off of their coasts
Nobel Peace Prize - LMAO! who can forget this joke? My God.......
57 states- need I even comment on this?
Walking out on the israeli prime minister
Using tax payer dollars as if it were his very own stash
Putting all legislation on the Internet for five days before it comes to a vote! (Just another unfufilled promise)
Hot mic Gaffe
Fast and Furious - at the hands of a racist AG
Allows a House Bill Cap/Cut/Balance to be killed by Reid in the Senate resulting in a downgrade of the nation's bond rating.
Remember all the promises? Too many to list, but here's a few:
Done more for Israel's security than any other prez in history
Earmarks? Fail
Transparency? Fail
Obamacare will not increase the debt one dime-Fail
We have run out of places in the US to drill for oil-Huge fail
We shouldn't mandate the purchase of healthcare - fail
Cut deficit in half by end of first term, even though that term is not up until jan, he took us the other way, 5 T in new debt OBUMMER!
There si so much more that can be said about this failure. He could absolutely write a book on failures, but, not so much on his achievements.

http://dailycaller.com/2012/03/31/obama-energy-officials-funded-solar-firms-despite-junk-bond-ratings-from-sp-fitch/

The U.S. Department of Energy backed hundreds of millions of dollars in loans for discredited solar power start-ups whose corporate debt was already sullied with “junk” ratings by Standard & Poor’s and Fitch Ratings, two of the world’s leading credit agencies, a federal government investigation has shown.
Despite the finding, Energy Secretary Steven Chu vigorously defended the ethics of his agency in a hearing last week held by House Oversight Committee Chairman Rep. Darrell Issa.
Details are emerging this week about the Energy Department’s practices that indicate the agency spent a disproportionate amount of funding on these tainted solar power projects.
Congressional aides interviewed personnel at Fitch and S&P, and officials inside Obama’s Energy Department, as part of their investigation.
A company called Solopower was cited in a “dire” warning by S&P, which accurately forecast that the firm would “fail to meet its debt obligations.” Nonetheless, it received $170 million in federal funding guarantees, investigators told The Daily Caller.
Another company, Abound Solar, was approved for a $400 million loan guarantee by Obama officials, investigators said. Fitch Ratings, however, had earlier assigned a “junk credit” rating to Abound. Fitch deemed the firm “highly speculative” and “lagging in technology” behind its competitors.
It was also rated less creditworthy than Solyndra, another infamous administration solar power investment, which caused scandal for the White House last year when it declared bankruptcy
“The markets were expressing a sense of caution on these firms,” Jeffrey Solsby, a senior aide to Issa, told TheDC. “The administration did not have this same sense of caution.”
Earlier this month, About Solar announced that it would stop producing solar power panels and lay off 180 employees. Before the disclosure, the company had already spent $70 million of its awarded federal funds.
Federal investigators detailed other dramatic abuses at the green energy firms:
Bright Source Energy, which received a $1.6 billion federal loan guarantee to build a solar power plant, has spent some $56 million on a “desert tortoise relocation program.” And Beacon Power, which received Energy Department funding, went bankrupt — but not before paying three executives more than $250,000 in “bonuses” in March 2010.
Foreign firms also received loan guarantees from the federal government as part of the program. One such overseas company was Spain’s Abengoa, another corporation with a poor credit rating, which rounded out the energy department’s junk bond portfolio.
Federal investigators told TheDC that an audit of these loans and loan guarantees indicated that the administration “ignored” clear warning signs of a “likely loss” of taxpayer dollars. Investigators also said the administration exercised “improper influence” in the approval of loan guarantees to favored companies “through manipulation of analysis — defrauding taxpayers and misappropriating assets.”
Even more damning allegations, which suggest that former Obama administration officials and campaign bundlers received a sizable share of those federal funds, are now surfacing.
Christine Lakatos, a researcher and conservative writer who has followed the emerging scandals for several years at the blog Green Corruption, told TheDC the administration is engaging in “crony capitalism with ‘green’ dollars.”
Lakatos claimed the scandal goes deeper than Rep. Issa and his investigators have detected. She said companies linked to contribution “bundlers” from President Obama’s 2008 campaign received about 80 percent of the “green energy” loans made by the Energy Department during the last three years

Obama donor accused of fraud.......WOW

WASHINGTON (AP) — A major donor to President Barack Obama has been accused of defrauding a businessman and impersonating a bank official, creating new headaches for Obama’s re-election campaign as it deals with the questionable history of another top supporter.
The New York donor, Abake Assongba, and her husband contributed more than $50,000 to Obama’s re-election effort this year, federal records show. But Assongba is also fending off a civil court case in Florida, where she’s accused of thieving more than $650,000 to help build a multimillion-dollar home in the state — a charge her husband denies.
Obama is the only presidential contender this year who released his list of “bundlers,” the financiers who raise campaign money by soliciting high-dollar contributions from friends and associates. But that disclosure has not come without snags; his campaign returned $200,000 last month to Carlos and Alberto Cardona, the brothers of a Mexican fugitive wanted on federal drug charges.
Obama campaign spokesman Ben LaBolt declined comment to The Associated Press. He instead referred the AP to previous statements he made to The Washington Post, which first reported the allegations against Assongba in its Sunday editions. LaBolt told the paper 1.3 million Americans have donated to the campaign, and that it addresses issues with contributions promptly.
Assongba was listed on Obama’s campaign website as one of its volunteer fundraisers – a much smaller group of about 440 people.
Assongba and her husband, Anthony J.W. DeRosa, run a charity called Abake’s Foundation that distributes school supplies and food in Benin, Africa.
In one Florida case, which is still ongoing, Swiss businessman Klaus-Werner Pusch accused Assongba in 2009 of engaging him in an email scam – then using the money to buy a multimillion-dollar home, the Post reported. The suit alleges Assongba impersonated a bank official to do it. Pusch referred the AP’s questions to his attorney, who did not immediately return requests seeking comment Sunday.
Meanwhile, Assongba has left a trail of debts, with a former landlord demanding in court more than $10,000 in back rent and damages for a previous apartment. She was also evicted in 2004 after owing $5,000 in rent, records show.
In an interview with the AP on Sunday, DeRosa said the allegations against his wife were untrue, although he couldn’t discuss specifics because of pending litigation. He said he and Assongba were “very perturbed” by the charges, and said the couple’s charity does important work in Africa.
Assongba has given more than $70,000 to Democratic candidates in recent years, an AP review of Federal Election Commission data shows. Her larger contributions include $35,000 to the Obama Victory Fund, a joint fundraising committee between Obama and the Democratic Party, and at least $15,000 to the Democratic National Committee. She also contributed to Hillary Rodham Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign.
Abake’s Foundation is listed by the IRS as a registered nonprofit organization; its financial reports were unavailable. A representative who picked up the phone at the foundation’s Benin office declined to answer questions, and instead referred the AP to Assongba.
Obama’s campaign declined to comment on whether its vetting procedures were thorough enough, or whether Assongba’s contribution would be refunded. All told, Obama has raised more than $120 million this election, not counting millions more from the Democratic Party – giving him a financial advantage thus far over any of his Republican challengers.
