Dirty Corrupt Bastards tried to cheat?
Five USB sticks were missing results, Steve Kornacki was left speechless, and David Crowley emerged with a remarkably narrow victory.
I’ll admit it — I’m shocked and saddened by what happened to poor Francesca Hong on Tuesday night, and I think there has to be accountability for the people who did it to her.
You heard about the tomfoolery and shenanigans surrounding Hong’s “defeat” at the hands of David Crowley, the Milwaukee County Executive who had dropped out of the Wisconsin Democrat gubernatorial primary for a month before shuffling back in, right?
If you haven’t, boy have I got a story for you. I’ll let Teri Christoph over at RedState give you the basics.
The final numbers aren’t in yet, but it looks like Crowley eked out a 39.8 percent to 39.4 percent win over Hong.
Hong losing despite all the polling that showed her the runaway favorite was one of the bigger stories of the night, but there was also the curious case of five USB sticks from Milwaukee that were found to be missing important voting data and delayed final results from being tallied.

Here’s what happened, according to the X thread of Wisconsin election observer Alexander Shur:
Five of the USB sticks were missing results from the election.
Election officials have to go back to the absentee facility to get the results again.
But election officials extracted “results” from some tabulators in 10 minutes and others in three. Election officials tell me it should take longer than three mins for results to download.
Milwaukee election chief Paulina Gutierrez confirmed to me that officials just clicked the wrong button on five of the tabulators. That’s why it went so quickly.
They downloaded audit logs but not results.
Even NBC News’ election guru Steve Kornacki couldn’t believe what he was hearing.
Oh, this you absolutely have to see. This is literally the greatest moment in the history of NBC News. Brian Williams will lie and swear he was there until his dying day, that’s how momentous it was.
No, no. You have to see all of it, because it’s… just… too…
Watching Kornacki and his production team attempting to sell the idea that this happened on the up and up is one of the greatest moments in TV news history.
And it just memes itself, doesn’t it?
If you bumped your head falling off the turnip truck, let me help you with this — when you get an inexplicable irregularity like the elections officials in Milwaukee suddenly can’t load election results on not one thumb drive from tabulators but FIVE, and then the votes have to be recounted and suddenly the Milwaukee County Executive who was down 22 points in the polls manages a narrow victory, and NBC News’ election analyst is keeled over on the air as though somebody just punched him in the family jewels, it’s a fairly strong inference that they flat-out stole the race from Francesca Hong.
If they didn’t, they sure didn’t do a bang-up job of promoting the integrity of elections in Wisconsin.
Which is a place where election integrity and low confidence are strongly correlative.
I said last week that Hong was my favorite DSA moron. I said it again Wednesday morning on the Dan Proft show in Chicago, which was a very fun segment of radio. And I’ll continue to say it, not simply because she was imploding so completely that had they not stolen the election from her she would have been annihilated by Rep. Tom Tiffany in the general election.
That could well happen to Crowley, depending on how sore Hong’s voters are over the party insiders doing a very sloppy and quite insulting job of rigging the election against their candidate. That led the Democrat Party’s new conscience Hasan Piker, who I should remind our readers was part of that Cuban cavalcade in Havana earlier this year with the Code Pink harpies and others in the DSA orbit, partying five-star style while the hungry peasants of the city sat sweating in their darkened houses, to declare that the “knives are out” over Crowley’s theft of the election.
As Charles Barkley might say, “that’s turrible.”
I will say this, though. The problem isn’t so much that they’ve just brazenly stolen the election from Hong. Democrat primary elections are basically always rigged. That party hasn’t held a real presidential primary since 2004, unless you want to claim that the community-organized, bused-in Barack Obama caucus participants in those early states represented the vox populi. And it’s more or less canon at this point that Bernie Sanders got ripped off twice.
Sanders didn’t really care. He’s getting the last laugh. His two presidential campaigns were money laundries where he used his stupid ghostwritten books as detergent and netted three houses out of the deal. And more than that, while he never did actually become a Democrat, his little minions all did and now they’re taking that party over.
Francesca Hong notwithstanding.
You’ll note that Bernie never endorsed her. Neither did AOC. Both of them took a powder not because they thought she wasn’t qualified — go and look at some of the real beauties both of them have stumped for — but because they knew she would lose to Tiffany.
And, I would argue, because they knew the fix was in. Crowley is Tony Evers’ man. Evers is the sleazy governor of Wisconsin who has presided over shady election after shady election in his eight years in office.
There is only so much fighting of City Hall you can do when your goal is to be City Hall.
And they know that goal is in sight, at least as it entails taking over the Democrat Party.
So Francesca Hong gets sacrificed that Abdulrahman El-Sayed and Darieliza Avila Chevalier and a host of other denizens of the Star Wars cantina might carry on.
They don’t think it’s a loss. This is somebody, apparently, who was prescribed lithium for her mental illness issues and proceeded to overdose on it.
But there are lots of us who’ll miss her. Anybody who can evolve so quickly on the subject of Thanksgiving, for example, or proximity to whiteness, deserves mad respect.
Sorry for what they did to you, Francesca. You should definitely try again.
