While Florida GOP Senator Ashley Moody did not exactly need help from Democrats in the primaries last night, they decided to deliver a massive one anyway with perhaps the craziest major candidate in the country.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Florida Democrats delivered a brutal repudiation to one of the central figures in the coordinated deep-state effort to take down President Donald Trump.
Retired Lt. Col. Alex Vindman, the National Security Council official who became a star witness in the 2019 impeachment circus over the Ukraine call, was defeated Tuesday night in the Democratic primary for the U.S. Senate seat in Florida. State Rep. Angie Nixon, a Democratic Socialists of America (aka communist) member, scored the upset victory.
Nixon, who is from Jacksonville, supports every radical policy one can imagine: Medicare for All, a national rent freeze and an eviction moratorium, a universal jobs program, abolishing ICE, and so much more.
And Nixon is every bit as nutty as her policies. As the final passage of a Governor Ron DeSantis-backed redistricting bill was underway back in April, pink-jumpsuit-wearing Nixon grabbed a pink bullhorn and started screaming at the top of her lungs.
“This is a violation of the Constitution! It is!” she yelled. “What y’all are doing is illegal!”
“I will not allow you to destroy our democracy!” she continued. “You are out of order!”

However, her protest was ultimately unsuccessful. The Florida House ultimately passed the redistricting bill in an 83-28 vote, and the Florida Senate followed a few days later.
Then, in May, Nixon was arrested after staging a sit-in at DeSantis’s Tallahassee office to protest the redistricting maps.
She faces two misdemeanor charges: trespassing and resisting an officer without violence.
As WFLA notes, a Leon County jury trial is scheduled to begin the week of September 21, 2026.
But even though every commonsense person knows that Nixon faces impossible odds in deep-red Florida, she vowed to “whoop” Moody during an appearance on CNN following her victory.
“I look forward, Ashley Moody, to taking you on and to whooping you in November, and YOU WILL be calling me your Senator,” Nixon boasted to anchor Laura Coates.
A dismayed Coates appears to sigh at the end of Nixon’s stupid little rant.

One can bet that Moody and every Florida Republican are laughing right now. But given how bad the political environment is right now for the GOP, no race can be taken for granted.
