OBAMA SAYS REFUSAL TO LIFT DEBT CEILING WOULD HURT ECONOMY

To much spending with no cuts will also hurt the Economy Douchbag!  
  He is also starting the threats that Military and "Grandma's won't get their Checks! I say to hell with him. Their is other areas that can save money while they negotiate, but he brings in the Class Warfare Crap again!
 I heard him mention he will save Billions from the war we will get out of....Its borrowed money!

President Barack Obama warned Congress on Monday that a refusal to raise the U.S. debt ceiling next month would trigger economic chaos.

Obama, at a news conference, said the U.S. economy was poised for a good year as long as Washington politics did not interfere.

He said a Republican refusal to lift the debt ceiling could lead the United States into a debt default, which would prevent the U.S. government from being able to provide Social Security benefits to some seniors and possibly tip the economy into recession.

"It would be a self-inflicted wound on the economy," Obama said.

Obama argued that he has agreed to plenty of government spending cuts and that it was now time for an overhaul of the tax code to close loopholes and for some modest tinkering with entitlement programs to reach a balanced deficit-reduction package. OBAMA: I WON'T PAY 'RANSOM' TO AVOID DEBT CEILING CRISIS

President Obama took to the bully pulpit today to once again warn that he would high-handedly refuse to negotiate over the debt ceiling if the Republicans insisted on further cuts without yet more tax increases. Then he had the temerity to suggest that Republicans would be at fault if a government shutdown resulted from his deep and abiding attachment to every cent of federal spending:

They will not collect a ransom in exchange for not crashing the economy. The full faith and credit of the United States of America is not a bargaining chip. And they better decide quickly because time is running short.

This is sheer political thuggery. The only person who demands a ransom here is Obama – he demands an increase in the debt ceiling, lest he allow America to default on her debts rather than cutting elsewhere. It is Obama who uses the debt ceiling as a bargaining chip to force Congress to continue to greenlight his shopaholic governance.

Republicans want to have a serious conversation about America’s debt. But as Obama told House Speaker John Boehner, he doesn’t think America has a debt problem in the first place. So instead, Obama will demagogue the issue and suggest that Republicans cruelly want to cut services, since they’re mean, heartless folks who hate the poor and crave the company of Scrooge McDuck.

Meanwhile, we spend. And spend. And spend.

Unless Republicans stand tall.
