Obamacare Rejected: The Top Hospitals Are Rejecting Obamacare

When it comes to determining the quality of healthcare legislation, who do youtrust? A politician or the millions of people it directly affects? Barack Obama or thedoctors?
A doctor’s entire career is quite literally based upon helping people; a politician’s career is centered around getting re-elected. We can see this being demonstrated by the Obama Administration desperately begging us to “not give up” on Obamacare, but the nation’s top doctors and hospitals are openly refusing to participate in it. Eleven doctors are even running for the Senate to take the fight to the White House.
The politicians are trying to save face; the doctors are trying to save people.
US News reports:
Americans who sign up for Obamacare will be getting a big surprise if they expect to access premium health care that may have been previously covered under their personal policies. Most of the top hospitals will accept insurancefrom just one or two companies operating under Obamacare.
“This doesn’t surprise me,” said Gail Wilensky, Medicare advisor for the second Bush Administration and senior fellow for Project HOPE. “There has been an incredible amount of focus on the premium cost and subsidy, and precious little focus on what you get for your money.”
No one person or even group of people can single-handedly manage an entire industry and these establishment politicians cannot know (and do not care) “what you get for your money.” They care about their control, not your values and preferences.
US News contacted the nation’s top 18 hospitals and found that most of them are completely opting out of Obamacare; they are refusing to work with “many of the companies included on states’ health insurance exchanges,” writes NewsMax.
They continue:
Many insurance companies declined to comment on the trade-off between price and quality of service. Critics say consumers are getting into coverage they don’t understand.
“In many cases, consumers are shopping blind when it comes to what doctors and hospitals are included in their Obamacare-exchange plans,” said Josh Archambault, a senior fellow with the think tank Foundation for Government Accountability. “These patients will be in for a rude awakening once they need care and get stuck with a big bill for going out-of-network without realizing it.”
But even if customers don’t want or need to go to a top-rated hospital, they may find that their own community hospitals also are rejecting Obamacare plans, reports CNN. [...]
Concord Hospital CEO Michael Green said the hospital isn’t opting out to make a “political statement” but blamed Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield, the state exchange’s only provider, saying the company is “unwilling to negotiate sustainable contract terms” and the hospital would be “paid less than what it costs us to provide care.“
It is simple: These hospitals have a choice between ruining people’s lives by complying with the “Affordable” Care Act or helping more people by opting out of it. The ACA increases prices and decreases quality, two factors that would eventually put these hospitals out of business completely – and that would hurt even morepeople.
There needs to be a full repeal of Obamacare before it completely slaughters the healthcare industry. If you agree, please help us spread the word by sharing this article.
