I hope people that sees this P/O/S out and about tell him what a scumbag he is.
Jackson, MS City Councilman Kenneth Stokes is no fan of the police and he don’t like outsiders much either. When officers from outside jurisdictions chase suspects into the neighborhood he represents, it makes his blood boil. Since it’s perfectly legal for any police agency to peruse and arrest criminals in Jackson, Stokes has come up with a unique way to stop them: he’s telling residents to attack outside officers by pelting them with rocks and bottles.
Following a recent incident in which officers from Pearl, MS chased a suspect into a Jackson neighborhood, Stokes had this solution according to MS News Now:
“What I suggest is we get the black leadership together, and as these jurisdictions come into Jackson we throw rocks and bricks and bottles at them. That will send a message we don’t want you in here,” said Stokes.
And just in case anyone thinks he was misquoted or taken out of context, here’s Stokes clarifying his statement to The Clarion-Ledger:
“My position is this: When you have these police officers coming from other jurisdictions and they will not respect human life, then I said we should use rocks, bricks or bottles to try to get the message over: stop endangering our children,” said Stokes.
So clearly Stokes wants residents to throw rocks, bricks, and bottles at police officers, but it’s okay because according to him the cops are really the bad guys:
“I almost became a police officer, but somewhere down the line, we have to draw a line between officers who put human beings safety in jeopardy versus using common sense. I don’t consider these police officers. I consider them thugs,” Stokes said.
It’s bad enough when some whacko Black Lives Matter activist calls for violence against the police, but it’s downright terrifying when an elected official does it. Guess what? The dumbasses in his district are going to take his advice and throw shit at cops.
Stokes’ “common sense” approach to dealing with law enforcement is going to get his constituents killed. What does he think is going to happen when residents start throwing rocks and bottles at cops? More than likely, the police are going to meet force with force and that generally means shooting. An Arizona police officer just shot and killed a man for throwing rocks, so it’s not like this kind of thing doesn’t happen.
In a time when black people are freaking out over police use of force, this insane City Councilman is encouraging black people to give officers a legitimate excuse to kill them. If Stokes were truly interested in protecting the people he represents, he wouldn’t be encouraging them to throw stuff at cops.
I also believe there is a not-so-subtle racial aspect to Stokes’ terrible advice. Obviously he doesn’t want white cops coming into his black area and arresting black suspects. In addition to being a cop-hating idiot, he’s also a racist asshole.
This fat sack of crap needs to be removed from office and arrested for making terrorist threats, but that won’t happen because he’s black. This is a thought not lost on Rankin County Sheriff Bryan Bailey:
“If any other elected official in Rankin County or anywhere else would have made the statements that he made, and changed the colors that he used, I think that we’d be on national news right now. Actually, Councilman Stokes is the one inciting racism and violence against police officers,” Bailey told WBRC.
It’s lucky for Stokes that he happens to be black because that gives him a Get Out Of Personal Responsibility Free card. That card may not be valid when someone actually throws a rock and injures a police officer and gets shot to death. Then, he might actually have to answer for what he said.
