Former spy chief James Clapper appeared on CNN with Don Lemon Wednesday evening to speak about the wiretapping of Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort.
When Don Lemon asked Clapper if he had knowledge of the FISA warrant for Paul Manafort, he said no. Back in a March interview with Chuck Todd, Clapper said that if the FBI had a FISA warrant for Manafort, he would have “absolutely” known about it.
Lemon asked Clapper Wednesday evening, “Did you know about a FISA warrant against Paul Manafort at the time?”
“I did not,” Clapper responded.

In a March 5th interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd, James Clapper clearly said that if the FBI had a FISA warrant, he would have definitely known about it.
Chuck Todd asked Clapper, “If the FBI for instance had a FISA court order of some sort for surveillance, would that be information you would know or not know?”
Without hesitation, Clapper answered, “Yes.”
“You would be told this?” Chuck Todd asked again for reassurance.
“I would know that, yes. Something like this, absolutely.” Clapper said again
When Chuck Todd asked Clapper to ‘confirm or deny’ if the FISA warrant for surveillance existed, Clapper clearly said, “I can deny it.”
Clapper AGAIN said there is no FISA warrant as Chuck Todd pressed him.
