Former Navy sailor Kristian Saucier’s family heard some good news during an interview President Trump had with Fox News’ Sean Hannity in January.
In the exclusive interview with Fox News, President Trump said that he was considering pardoning Saucier for taking photos while inside a nuclear submarine.
During his 2016 campaign for President Trump said he believed the one year sentence being served by Saucier was harsh.
From Fox News:
“I’m actually looking at it right now,” Trump told Hannity. “I think it’s very unfair in light of what’s happened with other people.”Sadie Saucier, who Friday morning was preparing to visit her husband at the Federal Medical Center at Fort Devens, Mass., where he has been held since October, said the words gave her hope.“Oh my God, I’m hoping it’s for real,” Sadie Saucier told Fox News Friday morning as she was preparing to visit her husband at the Federal Medical Center at Fort Devens, Mass., where he has been held since October. “I’m confident in Trump.”
On Friday Kristian Saucier told Varney and Co. he still hopes for a presidential pardon.
Saucier also said it is not fair that he served a year for taking 4 photos from inside a US submarine but Hillary Clinton is still a free woman walking the streets and pushing a new book.
Kristian Saucier: I think the punishment out to me was a little extreme but I was willing to accept it… But I think what the issue is here is the punishment isn’t doled out evenly across the board. You have people like Hillary Clinton, John Podesta and Huma Abedin who’ve committed far more egregious acts. I’m not trying to minimize what I did. I made a mistake. But the photos I took were ‘confidential’ which is the lowest tier of classification. Where as the information they handled was top secret SCI which is the highest. And I got a year in prison and she was allowed to run for president.
The double standards are obvious.
Hillary needs to do time.
