Former President Barack Obama’s 2015 tweet about the Iran deal has aged poorly given new evidence that Iran was lying about the nuclear capabilities.
Obama insisted in the tweet, “Under the #IranDeal, Iran can’t build a secret nuclear weapon.” He linked to an article from Reuters that claimed Iran would be unable to hide nuclear weapons work within the 24-day period before inspections.

Ben Rhodes, an Obama adviser, similarly tweeted that the Iran deal had “cut off” the country’s paths to a nuclear weapon.

On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he has new documents revealing that “after signing the nuclear deal in 2015, Iran intensified its efforts to hide its secret nuclear files.”
Netanyahu alleged that Iran moved its nuclear weapons files to a clandestine location in Tehran in order to conceal them from investigative authorities.
