Hate Comedy at the Nerd Prom Is Nothing New

RUSH: Once again, your host has been completely, totally — well, not vindicated. Well, I guess you could say vindicated, but rather confirmed as well. I’ve been telling you, they have destroyed, the left has destroyed late-night comedy. Hell, they’ve destroyed comedy, period. Leftist comedy is now nothing but hate. And we saw it on full display Saturday night at the nerd prom.
And the thing that gets me about this is it isn’t new! None of this is new. This may have blown past some barriers, but I don’t even think that. This really isn’t new. Now, to the extent that certain demographics are seeing it for the first time, such as some Millennials, there may be probative value in this, but we need to keep all of this in perspective. This is who these people are. I’ve been telling you, the mask is coming off, the camouflage is disappearing.
And for some reason they’re feeling their oats and they’re confident as they can be ’cause they’re convinced gonna win everything back in November, gonna impeach Trump, Trump’s gone. Just like they got rid of Ronny Jackson, they’ll be able to get rid of whoever with innuendo, lying New York Times stories about Devin Nunes. It just piles on top of itself. And in the process they are, I think really for the first time in a long time, being totally open about who they are and what they are. And who they are is undiluted, raw, sewage-level hate.
Greetings, folks. Great to have you. Rush Limbaugh, the EIB Network, and a brand-new week of broadcast excellence.
I want to take you back to me on this program last Wednesday talking about comedy and the left and hatred, just to remind those of you who may have missed it.
RUSH ARCHIVE: Great American institutions which used to be trusted implicitly — with just a few occasional doubts — have been weaponized. They’ve been weaponized in the effort to destroy Donald Trump. At the root of all of this, at the root of every effort to get rid of Donald Trump is something called “hate.” Hatred. Now, we can get into the reasons why if you want. “Why are they so mad that Trump won?” Well, Trump wasn’t supposed to win. It wasn’t possible for Trump to win, in these people’s world. He’s just a total, full-fledged reprobate.
But he did win, and every hard-core belief that they trusted was thrown upside down. If somebody like Trump can’t win, they look at themselves as having really screwed up, messed up. This has to be fixed, in their minds. But what is propelling them? Their propulsion is pure, raw, undiluted hate. And it’s infecting as much of America as they can infect. Look, we talk about late-night comedy. There is no late-night comedy anymore. It’s late-night hate — and it is late-night hate all aimed at Donald Trump.
RUSH: Right, and that’s exactly what happened Saturday night at the so-called White House Correspondents’ Dinner. You know, members of the Drive-Bys, certain elements of the media are acting outraged and thinking we need to have an apology for this. Not all of them, but some of them are. And that’s all bogus. This was intended. In fact, the president of the White House Correspondents Association, Margaret Talev, she’s a part-time analyst at CNN as well, they wanted this to happen. She was hired for this specific purpose. It’s been stated so. They intended this, is the point. They must put their hate on display.
So all of these reactions in the aftermath, “Oh, it might have been overboard, it might have been.” As I say, a few people may think that. Now I’ve seen the usual reaction, “Well, it’s Trump’s fault. It wouldn’t have even happened if Trump hadn’t called Carly Fiorina a horse face or if he hadn’t made fun of Rosie O’Donnell. And Trump’s responsible for it, so how come nobody got mad at Trump?” Everybody got mad at Trump. The idea that Trump didn’t get some grief over some of those things.
Here’s the difference. Here’s the difference. It’s no doubt that this babe on Saturday night was a walking hate fest. Donald Trump is funny. You can’t help but laugh at Trump. Did any of you see Saturday night in Washington, Michigan, did you see Trump’s rally, hour and 20 minutes? It may have been one of his best ever. It was uproariously funny, but it was right on par — I mean, every aspect of it he nailed.
I mean, he could not have done it any better than he did. And it’s totally ad-libbed. There aren’t any notes. There was a teleprompter because there are certain recitations on the successful agenda that he wanted to make sure and mention. So he would turn to the prompter then, but he’s a professional at going to the prompter then going back to ad-lib and not losing his place, just like we do it here on the EIB Network. Improv rants, never lose our place, sometimes have to read printed material such as when I’m quoting things, but then back to the point. It was masterful.
The thing is that people genuinely laugh with Trump. And the laughter that was in the Washington Hilton ballroom, it was hate laughter. I mean, I watched a little bit of it. I did not watch the event. I actually saw a YouTube video after having so many people tell me about it and I looked at the YouTube video, the thing was only 19 minutes, I said, “I can make 19 minutes.” So I watched the whole thing.
And the thing that struck me was Michelle Wolf. A, I never heard of her, which is important. I’ll get to that and why that’s the case in a moment. She has her own show coming up on Netflix. Now, unlike others who engage in this kind of behavior, she will not get her show canceled, there will not be sponsor boycotts, because there aren’t any. So Netflix is gonna promote the hell out of her now because of whatever 35, 40% of the country that thought that she was great. But she’s not a trailblazer. She’s a copycat.
My point is the left has been doing this exact thing I think since George W. Bush was inaugurated. Starting with the aftermath of the 2000 election and the Florida recount, the left has been unhinged and believing that every election they lose is illegitimate, they have been cheated somehow. Everybody’s talking about how unfair the lines were toward Sarah Huckabee Sanders, and they were. I mean, don’t misunderstand. I’m just saying it isn’t new.
Have people forgotten the horrendous treatment Sarah Palin got for her entire political career? From the moment she was named McCain’s vice presidential nominee to the present, Sarah Palin and her entire family have been treated viciously, mean-spirited, hate at each and every report, much like what happened on Saturday night at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Who is Sarah Palin? She is a strong, successful, attractive, articulate politician. She’s a wife and she’s a mother. She did not abort a Down syndrome baby. That made them mad. She has conservative values. She burst on the scene. One of the best political speeches of our time was her acceptance speech as McCain’s nominee. I think that was in Indianapolis, somewhere in Indiana. And she was trashed mercilessly for years in every way possible because the left is scared to death of people like her.
Liberal women have garnered and are now exhibiting so much hate, it’s breathtaking to behold. I mean, I knew feminism was sponsored in anger, and I knew the modern era of it grew and was nurtured with anger. But they haven’t gotten rid of any of it. The anger just continues to build, and it compresses. And it is just inescapable now. And I don’t know what is attractive about it. Well, it isn’t attractive. And that’s ultimately going to redound to all of our benefit.
This hatred for conservative women is not new. Michelle Malkin, Laura Ingraham, Candace Owens, Ann Coulter, the Trump women, you name it, it’s a never-ending stream of left-wing hate toward conservative women. It’s the same kind of hate toward conservative African-Americans. It’s the same kind of hate, type of hate toward conservatives in general. Social media, news shows, Hollywood, it’s endless. But they intended this on Saturday night.
Let’s go to the some examples here. We’ve had to bleep a lot of this, but for those of you who may not have seen it, here first is a montage. And this, again, is Michelle Wolf. I had never heard of her. I guess she used to work at Wall Street at Bear Stearns, which that would make you mad because it got shut down. I think she was at JPMorgan Chase for a while, then she was some sort of a roving correspondent for Comedy Central. Comedy Central, which is actually one of the outposts of hate for the American left.
Now she’s got her own Netflix show starting in May. I forget the date. I don’t know what the show is. But Margaret Talev who runs the White House Correspondents’ Association specifically wanted this babe, specifically and for the express reason that the White House Correspondents’ Association wanted exactly what they got. Here’s a brief little montage of it.
MONTAGE MICHELLE WOLF: Women started knitting those p—y (bleeped) hats. When I first saw them, I was like, “That’s a p—y?” I guess mine just has a lot more yarn on it. It turns out the President of the United States is the one p—y (bleeped) you’re not allowed to grab. A woman’s probably not going to j–k o– (bleeped) in front of anyone, right? Paul Ryan also couldn’t make it. Of course, he’s already been circumcised. Unfortunately, while they were down there, they also took his b—s. (bleeped) Ivanka cleans up nice. She’s the Diaper Genie of the administration. On the outside, she looks sleek but the inside — it’s still full of s—. (bleeped) I did work at Bear Stearns in 2008. So, although I haven’t been sexually harassed, I’ve definitely been f—ed. (bleeped) Yeah, that whole company went down on me without my consent. He grabs p—ies (bleeped) ’cause he thinks there might be loose change in them. Like an immigrant who was brought here by his parents and didn’t do anything wrong, I gotta get the f— (bleeped) out of here.
RUSH: It was 19 minutes of that kind of stuff, shouting, yelling, distinctive voice. Here is a specific. This is what this comedian had to say about abortion. Now, this shows you what soullessness looks like, in my humble opinion. Soullessness has taken over the American left, and this is how it manifests.
WOLF: Mike Pence is also very anti-choice. He thinks abortion is murder. Which, first of all, don’t knock it ’til you try it. And when you do try it, really knock it, you know, you gotta get that baby outta there. And, yeah, sure, you can groan all you want. I know a lot of you are very anti-abortion. You know, unless it’s the one you got for your secret mistress.
RUSH: Can you imagine C-SPAN, can you imagine C-SPAN — now C-SPAN radio bumped out of this at the halfway point and went and played something very boring, Washington Journal, Washington something or other. But somebody tell me this is funny, that little comment on abortion, Mike Pence. You see, what happens in circumstances like this, she happens to give voice to what they really think about it.
And when they’re confronted, when they are hit smack dab in the face with their own words by somebody they hired who’s supposedly there to make them laugh, the reason it makes them nervous is because they don’t look at it this way. They don’t talk about it this way. They try to characterize and perpetuate the idea that abortion is an illness, it’s a sickness, it threatens the life of the mother. And somebody comes along and hits them right upside the head with this and it makes them nervous ’cause this is not supposed to happen. Abortion is not supposed to be discussed honestly, in terms of the way the leftists actually feel about it. Up next, women who attack women. As I say, the anger of liberal women is I guess boundless.
WOLF: We should definitely talk about the women in the Trump administration. There’s Kellyanne Conway. Man, she has the perfect last name for what she does: (laughter) Conway. It’s like if my name was Michelle Jokes Frizzy Hair Small T–s. (bleeped) (laughter) You guys gotta stop putting Kellyanne on your shows. All she does is lie. If you don’t give her a platform, she has nowhere to lie. It’s like that old saying: If a tree falls in the woods, how do we get Kellyanne under that tree?
RUSH: Now, she went on to say, “Not that I wish her any harm. I just want her to get suck under the tree.” Have any of you seen the movie or read the book The Handmaid’s Tale? You’ve seen it? Okay. Okay. I need to know thumbs up or thumbs down? You liked the movie. I do not believe that I’ve got somebody on my staff that liked the movie.
Do you know what that is? The Handmaid’s Tale is a dystopian story, it’s by Margaret Atwood who herself needs some help. You’re not familiar with this, Mr. Snerdley? Well, it was a book, and it was an extended series on Hulu and I think season 2 of it has either premiered or will soon.
And what it is is what feminist women fear will happen if traditional America regains its power. They will be wearing bonnets and look like Amish women — actually, more like Arab women, only their noses and eyes will be able to be seen. They’ll work in the fields tilling the corn and all of this, milking the cows. They are total slaves to the male dominated culture.
And it is big, it is big with Millennials, it is big with the left today, because everything about their existence is dystopian. They think they’re creating utopia, but they’re scared to death. They have these paranoid visions of conservatism and Christian dominance.
And the Handmaid’s Tale is a personification of what they think will happen to women, barefoot and pregnant in the kitchen, not allowed to talk, only when spoken to. (interruption) Your vision of what you think marriage ought to be, exactly right.

RUSH: All right. Here’s the so-called comedian on Saturday night at the nerd prom and some of her comments on Sarah Huckabee Sanders, which some in the Drive-Bys are suggesting that there needs to be an apology for. Others are praising Sarah Huckabee Sanders for sitting there and not walking out during all this.
I tell you what the media had better be concerned about with all this. The people who watch this are no longer gonna ever think you people are objective about anything. Your obvious pro-Democrat, pro-leftist orgasms at this event Saturday night, that’s what you had better be worried about, because everybody watching this didn’t see journalism respecting itself, even.
They didn’t see people proud of journalism or anything of the sort. They saw journalism as nothing more than an extension of the extremist left and the Democrat Party. Anyway, here’s the comedians’ comments about Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
WOLF: I love you as Aunt Lydia in The Handmaid’s Tale. Every time Sarah steps up to the podium, I get excited because I’m not really sure what we’re going to get: you know, a press briefing, a bunch of lies or divided into softball teams. “It’s shirts and skins, and this time, don’t be such a little b—-, (bleeped) Jim Acosta.” She burns facts, and then she uses that ash to create a perfect smoky eye. (laughter) Like, maybe she’s born with it; maybe it’s lies. It’s probably lies.
RUSH: And of course the camera cuts to Sarah Huckabee Sanders who’s just sitting there stoic, stone faced, just a few feet away. And she did not walk out.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
RUSH: Now, I said that none of this is new. None of this, none of this that happened Saturday night is new. I stopped going to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, I don’t know, 1994 or 1995. I was first invited to go to this thing, and that’s how you had to go. News organizations buy tables, and then they invite guests. And so my first time was as a guest of the Washington Times.
And my first time at this thing, Bill Clinton tells a racist joke involving me, essentially calls me a racist, and the crowd just whooped and hollered. Everybody turned and looked at me, half the place applauded, and I’m not even into year seven of this program. And I’m walking out at the end of the night, Chris Matthews of all people, said, “You can’t let this stand. You were just called a racist by the president of the United States. You cannot let that happen. You gotta fight back. You cannot you cannot just ignore this.”
So we didn’t and we dealt with it in the ensuing weeks. And I think I went to one more. And I just said, “Why show up at these things?” Because it was nothing more than the liberal media conducting a hate fest on conservatives. I never understood why so many Republicans and conservatives showed up at this thing unless it was because, well, the president’s there and you pay homage to the president and it’s the media and you gotta go through the motions of making it look like we’re all one big, happy family.
But I never understood it because there’s no friendship here. Everybody acts phony, one night of the year to act like they’re all on the same team and act like everybody gets along. It’s clearly a one-way street. Now, just to illustrate for you how none of this is new, I want to take you back nine years, White House Correspondents’ Dinner May 9th, 2009, same place, Washington Hilton, Wanda Sykes was the evening’s entertainment.
SYKES: Rush Limbaugh said he hopes this administration fails. Like “I don’t care about people losing their homes or jobs or our soldiers in Iraq,” he just wants the country to fail. To me, that’s treason. He’s not saying anything different than what Osama Bin Laden is saying. I think maybe Rush Limbaugh was the 20th hijacker. Rush Limbaugh, I hope the country fails. I hope his kidneys fail, how about that? (laughter and groans) He needs to go waterboarding, that’s what he needs.
RUSH: You hear the applause at the suggestion that my kidneys fail, which of course for those of you in Rio Linda would mean I would die. So this isn’t new. And Wanda Sykes is an idiot. But she was a heroine that night. There was another year Al Franken was the entertainment. And Bill Clinton got up before Franken and said (Clinton impression), “And I just want to thank Al Franken, I just want to thank Al Franken for that book because, you know what, Rush Limbaugh is a big, fat idiot.”
And the place erupted, a standing ovation. And I wasn’t even there. And I said, “This is great. Look at how I’m living rent free in these people’s heads.” But the idea that any of this is new, folks, people are gonna have to come to grips with what we’re up against. These people are tearing down and trying to rip our culture apart. Because they don’t think they fit in. They don’t think they are normal.
They know they are not the majority. They’re not even close to it and it bothers them, and they’re trying to overturn everything and redefine everything so that they are considered what’s normal and they are considered the majority, and they aren’t, and they aren’t. And it’s gonna continue, and they’re gonna continue to lose elections.
The president in Washington Township, Michigan, on Saturday night made it known that the midterms are very important and he was doing his best to energize everybody and tell ’em they needed to get out and vote just like they did in 2016. And you would expect him to say this. But he said that he doesn’t think the Democrats are gonna win. He doesn’t think there’s any blue wave that’s gonna happen because he thinks he’s still very popular and the things happening in the country are good and they’re gonna continue to happen.
I mean, can you believe the president of South Korea has already, for most intent, nominated Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize? And the latest on that is that Kim Jong-un has volunteered to denuclearize all of North Korea, and he has invited, says he will invite, if all the negotiations transpire, but he will invite the media and others to come witness him destroy all of North Korea’s nuclear weapons capability.
None of that’s happened yet, and of course with the North Koreans, they lie and will say anything. So it’s way premature to think that anything that’s happening now is actually gonna have any sort of lasting impact. But the point is, none of this has ever happened before with any prior American administration. There are things happening for the good all over this country.
You know something else about Trump? One of the things that hit me about this investigation into Trump is how unblemished he may really be. Donald Trump is still, what, 50 years in real estate in some of the toughest markets in the world — Las Vegas, New York City, Atlantic City. They have been pouring through Donald Trump and his life for I don’t know how long now. They’ve had unlimited budgets. They’ve unlimited time. They’ve been doing all of this with the goal of getting the guy impeached and driving down his approval numbers to the point the American people wanted him to resign and be gotten rid of.
There have been at least five investigations. And we learned late last week from the House Intelligence Committee report that a bunch of billionaire leftists on the Left Coast, primarily from Silicon Valley, spent $50 million, hired Christopher Steele to go out and find even more dirt on Donald Trump! This is in addition to whatever Hillary paid Steele. This is whatever in addition the Democrat National Committee five — I think it’s five. Could be more. Fifty million they paid this guy to go out and find more dirt on Trump, and they haven’t found a speck.
And Christopher Steele’s initial report was made up out of whole cloth, bought and paid for by Hillary Clinton. You would think with as much investigation there has been of Donald Trump, they would have found something and it’s obvious they don’t have anything yet that they can present to the American people that will create doubt and will start lowering Trump’s approval numbers, which would then lead maybe to public pressure to get rid of him.
You talk about people that are coming up dry and coming up empty. You talk about people drilling dry holes, it’s stunning. And rather than learn from it, they just keep going. And they’re going further insane. You know, I’ve been talking about two television shows that I watch. One is Homeland and they had their season finale last night. It’s unbelievable. That show could not have been written this year unless the people behind it literally believe all of this Russian stuff. Literally believe the Russians tampered with our election.
If you have any objectivity, you sit there and you watch this, and you ask yourself, how could otherwise intelligent people really believe what they think? And this has been another point of mine. You know, we laugh at them because they’re off the rails, they’re unhinged. But the thing you come back to is they do believe it.
Last night on this show The Good Fight on CBS All Access, they actually had a storyline where one of the Russian hookers Trump hired to urinate in the bed in Moscow sought out this law firm, and there’s a tape of it. There’s a tape. People watching this show who don’t know any better are going to believe — and maybe this show results from what people already believe. Maybe this show is reflective of what people believe rather than trying to construct things to make people believe it.
Anyway, it’s incredible. It literally is incredible. We think of these people at least having some sense. But their hatred has so distorted their ability to reason and their ability to engage in common sense, it is striking to me. And it’s all because hate is what’s driving them. It’s a poison. And each and every day we are seeing more and more evidence of how the left is literally poisoning itself. And the more hate they engage in, the more hate they seem to harbor.
All of the hate that they expunge, all the hate that they supposedly get out of their systems with every late-night comedy show, every goofball TV show, everything like the Saturday night White House Correspondents’ Dinner, it doesn’t get rid of the hate; it just compounds it. They’re gonna crack up. I think they already have cracked up, and they’re taking as much of America with them as they go.
BREAK TRANSCRIPT
Back to the phones. Ken, St. Charles, Missouri, outside St. Louis. Great to have you, sir. How are you?
CALLER: Hey, Rush. Do you realize what Ms. Wolf provided the right for the 2018 and 2020 election? It’s time to rejoice. She gave us 17 minutes highlighting just how hateful, how racist, how sexist and filthy and vile the left is. You know what, Brother? Bye-bye to any blue wave. What do you think about that?
RUSH: Well, it’s interesting. It’s gonna be tough to use that unless she gets tied to a candidate, and I don’t think she’s going to get tied to a candidate unless… (interruption) No. I’m not gonna go there. (interruption) No, I’m not gonna be… (interruption) I’m not gonna get in the gutter with this babe. I was gonna make a snarky comment about extramarital sex resulting in pregnancy, but I’m not gonna mention that. How is this babe gonna get tied to a candidate?
What candidate…? Now, if the candidate hires her to come in and do an appearance or if the candidate hires her to do a commercial for ’em — and you never know. A California politician may think she’s the ticket. There could be some wacko leftists who think this woman doing a campaign appearance for him or her candidate running for election — doing an endorsement on stage for them — might put ’em over the top. And don’t pooh-pooh that, folks.
The hate on the left among Democrat voters knows no bounds, either. I think it’s always been there. Social media has exposed it. It’s always been there. Everybody blames social media for creating it or causing it. No, no, no, no, no! These hatemongers just didn’t have the outlet for it that social media provides them. Outside of that, I don’t know how you would take excerpts. You’d have to run generic commercials against the Democrat Party.
You would still have to tie this woman to Democrat candidates somehow — or am I missing something on that? This would be pretty risky to do. It might have commercial value in other ways, particularly internet buys — you know, long-form internet commercials of two, three minutes run by PACs and this kind of thing to make points on various issues she talked about. But for candidates? Kind of dicey.
