Grubergate: Democrats Reeling – Obamacare Architect Forced to Testify on Obama Deception

I Love it! This Stupid , I mean Smart Ass thought he was superior or way above us all.

Obamacare architect Jonathan Gruber to testify about
“transparency failures and outright deceptions surrounding Obamacare.”

In yet another deadly blow to the Obama White House, Darrell Issa, House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman, is calling Jonathan Gruber, MIT economist and Obamacare architect to testify about “transparency failures and outright deceptions surrounding Obamacare.”
Marilyn Tavener, administrator at Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, is also slated to testify. Tavener is being called as it has become evident that enrollment information had been inflated to allow the administration to claim higher enrollment figures than the truth would justify. Issa said in a statement released Friday:
“I expect Mr. Gruber and Administrator Tavenner to testify publicly about the arrogance and deceptions surrounding the passage and implementation of Obamacare,”
Gruber also made comments referencing how the “basic lack of economic understanding of the American voter” would enable the health care act to pass. Gruber has gained notoriety this month after several videos show him saying that:
Obamacare required “a lack of transparency” and “the stupidity of the American voter”
if it was going to pass.
According to David Dayen of The Fiscal Times:
But I’m in a unique position when it comes to Gruber. My public criticism of him goes back to 2010, when he exhibited precisely the traits of deception and evasiveness that have gotten him in trouble now. In fact, he has become an avatar of not only Obamacare, but of liberal paternalism, a caricature of the snotty know-it-all technocrat who will make decisions for people without consulting them. That some of this perspective actually shows up in the health care law is a major reason for its difficulties, and a bigger problem for Democrats going forward.

Here’s what we were talking about in January of 2010. Gruber was a go-to source for dozens of journalists during the ACA debate. But my colleague Marcy Wheeler discovered that, while Gruber was talking to journalists and writing op-eds in favor of the law, he didn’t disclose that he was paid $392,600 by the Department of Health and Human Services to produce technical models that estimated the effects of changes in insurance coverage. Labeling Gruber now as an “advisor to the administration” neglects the fact that he never mentioned that relationship to many reporters.
