‘Hundreds of Thousands’ to Lose Health Plans Due to Obamacare, ‘Will Be in for Sticker Shock’

As the second wave of Obamacare enrollment approaches, hundreds of thousands of citizens are expected to lose their health care plans and the prices for new plans are on the rise.
National Journal correspondent Kristine Frazao spoke to insurance broker Ed Kafes, who said, “people will be in for sticker shock.”
“But for many that won’t be the biggest shock coming off of their old medical plans,” Kafes said. “The products they are used to. There’s more financial exposure after the deductible.”
Health care enrollees will find themselves in a difficult situation in which they must pay for expensive health care plans or face a fine.
“For those planning to go without insurance, the penalties will take a bigger bite in 2015,” Frazai said.
“Individuals will pay fines of up to $325, and for families it will be as much as $975.”
