Again, he is more concerned about the enemy than Americans.........
Obama’s rules of engagement must have ISIS laughing like crazy. Our fearless leader’s idea of war is to warn the enemy with leaflets so they’ll scamper away. So this idiotic strategy of warning ISIS to run away before we bomb them brings back memories of Monty Python. If I didn’t know better I’d think this was all a joke. The sad thing is we could have stopped this so long ago but rules of engagement are ridiculous! Not only do our fighter jets come back 75% of the time without bombing, but we’re WARNING THE ENEMY to run away before we strike. Buzzing the ISIS fighters with a low-flying plane does nothing to eradicate this scourge on humanity. Just unreal!
According to Bridget Johnson of PJ Media, actions taken by U.S. forces in the wake of the Paris massacre include an effort to interdict ISIS oil tanker traffic. U.S. aerial assets carried this out by bombarding the trucks with leaflets warning drivers that an air strike would follow within forty-five minutes. What followed was, evidently, not air strikes at all, but low-level buzzing by U.S. Navy fighter-bombers. (Consider for a minute what the pilots must have thought.) …
COL. STEVE WARREN:
“In Al-Bukamal, we destroyed 116 tanker trucks, which we believe will reduce ISIL’s ability to transport its stolen oil products,” Warren said. “This is our first strike against tanker trucks, and to minimize risks to civilians, we conducted a leaflet drop prior to the strike. We did a show of force, by — we had aircraft essentially buzz the trucks at low altitude.”
The leaflets, which fluttered to the ground about 45 minutes before the strikes, simply said: “Get out of your trucks now, and run away from them. Warning: airstrikes are coming. Oil trucks will be destroyed. Get away from your oil trucks immediately. Do not risk your life.”
“We combine these leaflet drops with very low altitude passes of some of our attack aviation, which sends a very powerful message,” the colonel added.
He said the decision to drop warnings came after they “assessed that these trucks, while although they are being used for operations that support ISIL, the truck drivers, themselves, probably not members of ISIL; they’re probably just civilians.”
“So we had to figure out a way around that. We’re not in this business to kill civilians, we’re in this business to stop ISIL — to defeat ISIL.”
Thus, they tried to come up with a strategy “to kind of shoo people away without harming them.”
So after all this time, they came up with a great plan; drop flyers on ISIS trucks so that the drivers, who may or may not be ISIS members, can run away in time. Meanwhile ISIS gets 45 minutes of warning.
Now you know why we won’t actually bomb ISIS’ core forces. And so does ISIS. All it has to do is surround itself with civilians and it’s invulnerable. Just like the Taliban did in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile ISIS has been financing its operations with money we could have taken away from it, but didn’t because it might have meant harming its drivers. Just imagine this bunch of clowns fighting WW2 and we wouldn’t need to imagine an alternate version of history in which the Nazis won.
