WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange reportedly would like to prove to California Congressman Adam Schiff that his organization didn’t use its platform to release information helpful to the Trump campaign.
The Washington Examiner reports that Randy Credico, a New York radio host who is also Trump confidant Roger Stone’s intermediary to Assange, told MSNBC’s Ari Melber on Friday that Assange told him to tell Schiff he would like to arrange a meeting.
The purpose of the meeting from Assange’s perspective would be to show “there is no collusion” between the Trump campaign and the Russians, according to Credico.
Schiff’s office responded that the ranking House Intelligence Committee member would be willing to meet with Assange, but not until “he is in U.S. custody.”
“Our committee would be willing to interview Julian Assange when he is in U.S. custody, not before,” Schiff’s office wrote in a Friday statement, according to the Examiner. (RELATED: ROGER STONE: Free Julian Assange, Mr. President)
Assange’s time in asylum at the Ecuadorian Embassy reportedly could be coming to an end soon, in which case he could be arrested by British authorities and turned over to the United States. (RELATED: EXCLUSIVE: Roger Stone’s Full WikiLeaks Conversation And Passport Photos)
