Rep. Tulsi Gabbard ripped the DNC’s ongoing primary process on social media Thursday; saying she may “boycott” next week’s debate as party officials are “rigging” the nomination for the 2020 election.
“The 2016 Democratic Primary election was rigged by the DNC and their partners in the corporate media against Bernie Sanders,” Gabbard said. “In this 2020 election, the DNC and corporate media are rigging the election again, but this time against the American people in the early voting states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada.”

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard slammed the Democrat National Committee Friday over their criteria regarding presidential debates; saying the DNC must “adjust” the process to “ensure transparency and fairness.”
“The Gabbard campaign is calling on the DNC to hold true to their promise and make adjustments to the process now to ensure transparency and fairness,” the campaign said in written statement. “Crucial decisions on debate qualifications that impact the right of the American people to have the opportunity to participate fully in the Democratic process should not be made in secret by party bosses.”
The DNC increased the requirements to attend next month’s Democrat debates in Houston, Texas; demanding all candidates poll above 2% in four approved surveys and raise funds from at least 130,000 different donors in 20 states.
The Gabbard campaign she has reached the donor requirement but has so far received 2% in just two approved polls.
“Ten candidates have solidified their spot on stage in Texas next month: former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Cory Booker (N.J.), South Bend, Ind., Mayor Pete Buttigieg, Sen. Kamala Harris (Calif.), Sen. Amy Klobuchar (Minn.), former Texas Rep. Beto O’Rourke, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Sen. Elizabeth Warren (Mass.), Julián Castro (Texas) and tech entrepreneur Andrew Yang,” reports the Hill.
The presidential hopefuls must reach the DNC requirements by August 28th.
