President Obama gave quite a big mea culpa during his Obamacare presser this week and announced a fix for the health care law that would let people keep their cancelled plans… except according to Charles Krauthammer, he doesn’t actually want that. He said the president’s peddling a “scam,” but if he hadn’t have done it, it would have been full-on Democratic rebellion.
Krauthammer argued Obama only “pretended to want to restore the plans,” but there’s a deeper agenda at work.
“It is a sham, it was only intended to shift the blame. His intent is for these plans not to be renewed… And the reason he intends that is if all these people are renewed and they stay out of the exchanges, the exchanges will collapse.”
He added that more Democrats would have jumped ship en masse if Obama hadn’t have offered a fix, but now vulnerable Senate Democrats are in a bind because they can’t afford to be seen voting against a bill fixing the horrible Obamacare rollout.
