Greta Interviews the Released Marine… This Will Make You Furious at Obama [VIDEO]

After his failed attempt to escape from the Mexican prison where his commander in chief was content to allow him to languish for over half a year, Marine Sgt. Andrew Tahmooressi’s paranoia — a common effect of PTSD — began to get the best of him.
Tahmooressi became concerned that other prisoners wanted to beat or murder him — and not only him, but his family as well. He worried that guards would allow them to torture him into revealing his family’s names and locations. Soon, he saw only one way out.
“I was thinking, maybe taking my life is the best thing,” he told Fox New Channel’s Greta Van Susteren during an interview that aired Wednesday night.
Tahmooressi noticed two fluorescent light bulbs on the ceiling of the cell where he was imprisoned, and saw his chance.
“I was looking at these light bulbs as my way out,” he told the Fox News host.
Tahmooressi broke one of the bulbs against the cell’s toilet and used it to stab himself in the neck. Luckily, guards heard the breaking glass and got him medical attention. The Marine said he lost a significant amount of blood and passed out, but revived after being given IVs by the prison doctor.
“I got revived, I came back,” he said.
Watch an excerpt from Greta’s interview with Tahmooressi here:
Tahmooressi should never have been allowed to remain in Mexican custody for as long as he did, especially after it became clear that a few days’ of discussions would have secured his release — and eventually did.
We’re glad that Tahmooressi’s concerns about his guards turned out to be unfounded, and that they helped him in his time of most desperate need. Those Mexican prison guards did more to save the Marine sergeant’s life than did his commander in chief.
Nice work, Mr. President.
