Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said Wednesday he did not feel pressured during his phone call with President Trump — as Trump doubled down on his call for Ukraine to investigate Joe Biden’s son Hunter Biden.
“We had — I think good phone call. It was normal. We spoke about many things, and I — so I think and you read it that nobody pushed me,” he said during a sit-down Wednesday, adding that he was reluctant to get involved in US politics.
Trump, meanwhile, focused on his 2020 rival Biden and 2016 rival Hillary Clinton.
“When Biden’s son walks away with millions from Ukraine, he knows nothing and paying millions of dollars that’s corruption,” Trump said.
Asked if he believed that Clinton’s missing emails were somewhere in Ukraine, Trump said it was possible and then slammed his 2016 election opponent.
“Frankly, I think that one of the great crimes committed is Hillary Clinton deleting 33,000 emails after Congress sent her a subpoena. Think of that. She deleted 33,000 emails after — not before — after receiving the subpoena from the US Congress. She’s done far worse than that, although I don’t know how much worse it can be, but there were many other things she did that were wrong.”
