Radio talk show host Glenn Beck tore into Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton’s statement that “religious beliefs… have to be changed” for the sake of abortion rights on Wednesday, calling it an “un-American” and “anti-Christian” attack on religious liberty.
“This politician has gone farther than any politician I’ve ever heard in my lifetime,” Beck said on “The Glenn Beck Program.” “And as usual, there is so little coverage of it except here, I’m actually not sure how many people know of it. And if the American people do know about it, I don’t even know if they even care anymore!”
“But I can say, without any reservation whatsoever, this is a phenomenal statement that needs to be paid attention to by all Americans,” he said. “Because the principle that was blatantly attacked is, in fact, the bedrock principle on which this country was founded. And it is this: religious liberty. You cannot violate my conscience.” (VIDEO: Glenn Beck Compares Lying Harry Reid To Satan: ‘This Is Straight-Up Evil’)
“What Hillary is saying here is it’s no longer acceptable to believe something that the government doesn’t believe,” Beck continued. “For instance Christians– I assume this applies here– if the government says abortion is fine, you can no longer believe that it’s akin to murder. If you believe marriage is between a man and a woman, it doesn’t matter, you don’t have the right, it has to change.
“It’s an un-American kind of idea,” he concluded. “It’s anti-Christian. But Hillary is running in a country that it is 75 to 80 percent Christian. So I mean, what could possibly go wrong? Nothing, because no one is paying attention to it!” (VIDEO: Hillary Vows To ‘Topple’ The Rich In Off-The-Record Meeting)
