Heh: Dems' Sequester Replacement Bill Adds Billions to Deficit

More Liberal Balanced Garbage....Tax Hikes!
Senate Democrats say they want a "balanced" approach to deficit reduction.  Here's their idea of how to achieve that, as expressed in actual legislation:

White House-backed legislation in the Senate to replace $85 billion in across-the-board spending cuts would raise the deficit through the end of the budget year by tens of billions of dollars, officials said late Wednesday as the two parties maneuvered for public support on economic issues. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office said that under the Democratic measure, deficits also would rise in each of the next two years before turning downward. Democratic officials had said earlier in the day their bill would spread one year's worth of anticipated savings — $85 billion — over a decade in an attempt to avoid damaging the shaky economic recovery. The legislation would cancel across-the-board cuts due to begin on Friday.Instead, it would eliminate payments to some farmers, enact defense reductions beginning in two years and impose tax increases, mostly on millionaires. White House spokesman Jay Carney recently told reporters at the White House the administration supports the measure.

Too perfect.  Their "deficit reduction" plan entails defense cuts, new tax hikes, and adding to the deficit.  No wonder these guys have avoided committing a budget to paper for the last four years.  Their mindless slogans do not, and cannot, comport with reality.  Note that last line, too: "The White House...supports the measure."  Of course they do.  Hey, it's a plan that isn't the Republican one.  The president's specific plan is non-existent, though he did manage to squeeze in a seven minute meeting with Congressional leaders yesterday.  I'm sure that was productive.  Like everyone else in Washington, Senate Democrats have known that the sequester was coming for the last sixteen months, and this is what they've come up with at the very last minute?  Republicans passed two bills containing explicit plans to replace the president's sequester with more responsible offsetting cuts.  Democrats blocked both, then sat around and did nothing until Harry Reid filed cloture on this hilarious bill yesterday.  We'll have Senate votes later this afternoon, both on this non-starter and the Senate Republicans' alternative -- which is also going nowhere.
Meanwhile, the Woodward story continues to percolate.  People will continue to argue over whether he hyped the nature of the "threat" he received, but what's clear is that Woodward was correct on his sequester facts.  Despite the White House's repeated denials, the sequester was proposed by them and signed into law by the president.  Don't believe him?  Ask a prominent Democrat Senator who's confirmed the cuts' origins.  This is why many liberals and members of the media have shifted from arguing, "it was Congress' idea," to "it doesn't matter whose idea it was."  The Left is also claiming that Woodward's analysis of Obama's goal-post shifting is factually inaccurate.  Here's TPM's  Brian Beutler "debunking" Woodward's reporting:

Woodward’s book about the debt limit crisis includes the fairly inconsequential detail that the idea of using sequestration (as opposed to other policy options) as an enforcement mechanism originated in the White House. Republicans, who voted for the Budget Control Act in overwhelming numbers, argue flimsily that this detail absolves them of all blame for the coming spending cuts, and have since tried to turn Woodward into a sort of grand arbiter of the debt limit fight. But in this case Woodward is just dead wrong. Obama and Democrats have always insisted that a balanced mix of spending cuts and higher taxes replace sequestration. It’s true that John Boehner wouldn’t agree to include new taxes in the enforcement mechanism itself, and thus that the enforcement mechanism he and Obama settled upon — sequestration — is composed exclusively of spending cuts. But the entire purpose of an enforcement mechanism is to make sure that the enforcement mechanism is never triggered.

As John Sexton has pointed out, though, Woodward is not "just dead wrong."  Yes, the president proposed sequestration and signed the Budget Control Act in 2011 with the expressed hope that the so-called Super Committee would prevent the sequester with a commensurate deficit reduction package.  That offsetting package, he argued, should include a mix of spending cuts and increased revenues.  The Super Committee convened, negotiated, and failed.  The group's Republican members offered a $1.2 trillion plan that reportedly included $500 billion in revenues over ten years.  Democrats walked away, demanding $1 trillion in tax hikes, and offering no formal counterproposal.  So the GOP tried to reach a productive agreement that aligned on some level with the president's demand for "balance."  Democrats rebuffed their good-faith attempt, and the Super Committee failed.  Now that sequestration is upon us, the president is again trying to forestall or replace his own mechanism -- an act that he oncethreatened to veto.  The mechanism that he created and insisted upon is comprised of 100 percent cuts.  That's what the law says.  He signed it.  By law, the consequence of the Super Committee's failure is the implementation of his all-cuts sequester.  Trying to redefine the sequester at the very last minute is the very definition of moving the goal post.  "Threats" aside, Woodward is right here.

Rush Limbaugh: "This is an impeachable offense, this is in direct violation of the oath of office -- defend and protect the Constitution of the United States and the people. We're opening the doors of prisons before the sequester has even happened, before there have even been any budget cuts -- this is so childish. Except the consequences are real for people that live nearby these detention centers."

Media Turns Against Obama's Sequester Narrative

Over the past weeks, President Obama has been running around the country like Chicken Little spreading falsehoods about sequester, all in the hopes of blaming a 2% budget cut (which he proposed and signed into law) for an anemic economy that might be headed into a double-dip recession. Simply put, the White House and its media are pushing this fabricated Narrative in the hopes of shifting blame away from Obama's failed economic policies and onto the GOP and a lack of government largess.

If our economy crashes, Obama wants to blame sequester; he wants to argue that our economic woes are caused by a government that isn't big enough, and that he needs a Democrat-controlled House to correct that. It's an audaciously dishonest plot, and it almost worked. The monkeys in the wrench, though, have been little things called facts, a Republican Party refusing to blink, and one brave and honest reporter.
Now the Narrative is starting to collapse, and nothing signals that collapse better than this National Journal piece published today that blows the lid off the media's and the White House's sequester lies:
The Overhyped, Overblown, & Overly Politicized Sequester Fears
It turns out that the next big fiscal crisis will seem more like a whimper when it hits on March 1.
Let’s be clear about one thing: The across-the-board spending cuts known as the "sequester” aren’t a doomsday scenario, or a meteorite that will blow up the economy.
Teachers, FBI agents, and Border Patrol officers will not get fired tomorrow, when the sequester kicks in. The Internal Revenue Service will still be able to process your tax return in April. Preschool programs won't kick out 70,000 little kids until the fall, according to Education Secretary Arne Duncan—and that’s if the spending cuts stick. Unemployed people, arguably some of the worst-off of the lot, will not see their federal benefits reduced by 11 percent until April at the earliest, says the National Employment Law Project. This is roughly four weeks away, giving Congress and the White House time to act beyond the March 1 deadline that has been touted in headlines and press conferences for the past week.
The immediate impact of sequester is “absolutely overhyped,” says Steve Bell, senior director for economic policy at the Bipartisan Policy Center and a former Republican staff director for the Senate Budget Committee. “A sequester will occur and, the next day, the likelihood is that almost no one will know that it started.”
Along with other myths, the piece goes on to deconstruct the falsehoods about agencies not having flexibility to choose where these miniscule cuts hit.
Obama and his media based this Narrative on lies… The lie that sequester wasn't his idea; the lie that tax increases were part of the sequester deal; the lie that government agencies had no control over where the cuts hit; the lie that a meager $85 billion cut in a trillion-dollar budget would mean the end of the world.
Obama has spent the last weeks gambling Republicans would cave and that his media would never dare challenge his fear-mongering with ridiculous nightmare scenarios. But drip by drip by drip, the mask was ripped off by a few honest reporters exposing lies that not even the ObamaMedia could spin away.
The President's justified confidence in a media that long ago sold its soul on his behalf put him way out over his skis, and now, thanks to a few honest reporters, it's all tumbling down around him.

There is a real possibility, a strong likelihood, that President Obama knows nothing of the nuts and bolts, the details and realities of the positions he promotes.  He rides the Starship Air Force One, thrills adolescent crowds and frames himself with federal employees while orating vapid clichés dowsed in demagoguery.
He drives the fancy car but needs help filling it with gas and couldn't point to the air filter if you popped the hood. Imagery sans leadership.  Celebrity is the accomplishment here, and adoration is the metric.  Polls demonstrate people approve more of him and less of his execution of the responsibilities of office. This Presidency is therefore wrapped in a managed personal imagery that supersedes the measure of ability.
He speaks yet says nothing. He exists before the camera scripted to generalities and clichés. Once this is understood, we can sense there is no more. True leadership and real understanding of the issues just aren't there.  Recall a few instances.
There was the Paul Ryan Obamacare summit in which Ryan began to peel back the skin on the Affordable Care Act.  Ryan began reading from the bill itself, and as he did Obama's eyes glazed over.  When Ryan was finished, Obama had nothing of substance to say.  Dismissive and aloof, he pushed out a short narrative of banalities and bromides.
Did Obama know enough to defend his own program?
There was also the Univision interview in which Obama declared that George W. Bush began Fast and Furious back in 2007.  This is inherently false.  There was a similar program, granted.  But, the program had ended and, by the way, the program attempted to capture gun runners. Two glaring differences.  But did Obama know these facts? At first one thinks there is a twisting of the truth by the President.  But, there is a strong possibility that indeed he believed what he said based on what he had been told.
Dr. Benjamin Carson revealed his version of the world and the shortfalls of Obamacare standing a few feet from the President himself.  Obama's body language, as he was forced to bear witness, spoke volumes. This was the closest to an exchange between Obama and a critic of his beloved health insurance initiative to date.  But there was no exchange.  There was no defense. There was no telepromptered pre-authored clichéd speech to deliver.
Regarding the Benghazi incident, Obama suggested that for him to dig in and learn the details and facts of that 9/11 day would be to somehow interfere with an FBI investigation, an investigation that to date has provided nil. Wouldn't, shouldn't a President's attitude be more in the vein of "I will find out what happened and I will report back to the nation."?
He declares that he has cut over a trillion dollars, somewhere.  He has been told this and it seems he believes it.
He will not engage a critic and nor defend his positions in detail.  He can not apparently even engage a questioning reporter nor engage his congressional opposition. In my opinion, he couldn't last 5 minutes in a fact-driven analysis of that which he promotes. The President doesn't meet with the political opposition to initiate compromise because he simply couldn't keep up his end of the argument. His game is to broadcast insipid generalities wrapped in demagoguery and reliant on an arrangement that disallows honest questioning.  Can we recall anytime that Mr. Obama had control and knowledge of the facts of an issue?
I maintain that Obama really believes that George Bush started Fast and Furious.
I maintain that Paul Ryan has read more of the Obama Care bill than the President.
I think he actually believes he has trimmed over 1 Trillion dollars from the budget and that the sequestration is a "real" cut rather than merely a trimming of the rate of increase in federal spending.
The president operates only on the information he is given. That is understandable.  But does he sense that perhaps his information is flawed?  Does he care? Not likely.
Obama's non-engagement and aversion to compromise is actually seated in his complete lack of knowledge, and therefore inability to defend his agenda or even forge a compromise.  He is inactive in leadership and compromise because he simply lacks the ability and issue knowledge to lead and compromise.
It is becoming apparent that the President is purposely kept in a bubble by his handlers, protected by the aegis of screened questioning. He is merely a one trick pony with the trick being nothing but media-enabled and unrebutted declarative demagoguery delivered to fawning audiences and broadcast to the clinically under informed.

MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Gleefully Admits To Using Edited Video To Smear GOP - See more at: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/jeffrey-meyer/2013/02/27/msnbc-s-rachel-maddow-gleefully-admits-using-edited-video-smear-gop#sthash.AZTV4kbg.dpuf Read more: http://newsbusters.org/blogs/jeffrey-meyer/2013/02/27/msnbc-s-rachel-maddow-gleefully-admits-using-edited-video-smear-gop#ixzz2MFNwrYmB

I never watch this Crap probably because of the Liberal stupidity and Ass Kissing here too! I've heard some people refer to Msnbc as the comedy channel!

MSNBC’s propensity to selectively edit video to smear conservatives has reached a new low.  Speaking on her self-titled show on February 21, host Rachel Maddow openly admitted to playing edited footage of Senator John McCain to smear the Arizona Republican.
Speaking last week, Maddow aired footage of McCain addressing a constituent whose son was killed last year at a movie theater in Aurora, Colorado, who spoke to Senator McCain about her belief that “These assault weapons allow a shooter to fire many rounds without having to reload. These weapons do not belong on our streets.”  [See video after jump.  MP3 audiohere.]
Maddow then played McCain’s edited comments, which show him saying, “I can tell you right now you need some straight talk. That assault weapons ban will not pass the congress of the United States.”
Maddow then ridiculously admits there is editing with the clip she played, but that doesn’t stop her from slamming McCain:
Obviously, there was an edit between the end of the woman's question and the part where John McCain sneers the straight talk line at her. So maybe that edit was cut in a way that’s not fair to John McCain.
Had Maddow felt the need to play the complete clip, she would have seen Senator McCain expressing his condolences and sadness for those victims who died in Aurora, Colorado, as well as other tragic shootings.  However, being a fair, albeit opinionated journalist, is not Maddow's aim:
Maybe he really wasn't in real time so insensitive and abrasive to a woman who probably deserves some sensitivity when she is talked to about these matters. But for what it's worth, Patricia Maisch, the woman who disarmed the Tucson shooter, she was in the room at that John McCain town hall. She saw the whole thing happen. She saw that woman ask the question about what John McCain thought should be done about gun violence and saw him answer by saying you need some straight talk. And Patricia Maisch, who was in the room, told Talking Points Memo in an interview after the town hall that she found Senator McCain’s response "Unsatisfactory."
The total disregard, and in this case, outright glee on by the liberal MSNBC hosts regarding their selective video editing practices shows just how corrupt the network has become.

Michelle Obama's Gun Gaffe

More Liberal Media Obama Ass Kissing!

02/28/13

While we're all thrilled Robin Roberts is well enough to return to her job at ABC's Good Morning America, it is a shame that the same old beat goes on when it comes to protecting the Obamas.
Roberts interviewed First Lady Michelle Obama today about many topics First Ladies are normally asked about, but when it came to the heinous murder of 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton, the young girl shot down in a Chicago park just days after performing at President Obama's inauguration, the network edited out a likely gaffe -- and what would've been a real story -- made by Mrs. Obama.
As Charlie Spierling of the Examiner reports, in the ABC News write up and transcript of the interview, while pushing for gun control, the First Lady claims Hadiya was "caught in the line of fire because some kids had some automatic weapons they didn't need[.]"
Except, we don't know that the weapon used was an automatic weapon, and the chances that it was are highly unlikely. What is likely, however, is that Hadiya lost her young life being at the wrong end of a gun Obama has no interest in banning or restricting: a handgun.
In their never-ending crusade to protect Obama, though, ABC News memory-holed the First Lady's gaffe during  the broadcast of Good Morning America. If you watch video of the segment here you'll see that the First Lady makes no reference to automatic weapons and that the way in which the segment is edited backs up the claim that section was removed by ABC News.

Rep. Goodlatte Blasts Obama for Releasing Illegal Aliens to ‘Promote His Political Agenda on Sequestration’ - See more at: http://cnsnews.com/news/article/rep-goodlatte-blasts-obama-releasing-illegal-aliens-promote-his-political-agenda#sthash.Udje0P26.dpuf

Again, Obama was in charge and he was clueless of this going on???  Right..........Anything to Demonize the GOP!  What a POC!

(CNSNews.com) – House Judiciary Committee Bob Goodlatte (R-Va.) said Tuesday that the Obama administration's decision to release hundreds of illegal aliens is “abhorrent,” and he charged that the move is not only political but dangerous.
“It’s abhorrent that President Obama is releasing criminals into our communities to promote his political agenda on sequestration,” Goodlatte said in a statement. “By releasing criminal immigrants onto the streets, the administration is needlessly endangering American lives.
“It also undermines our efforts to come together with the administration and reform our nation’s immigration laws,” Goodlatte said. “Unfortunately, this administration has a poor record of enforcing our immigration laws and has routinely sought to undermine them.”
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has released "several hundred" illegal aliens from detention centers across the country citing concern over reductions in federal spending that, under the Budget Control Act signed by President Obama in 2011, could take effect this Friday.
ICE, a division of the Department of Homeland Security, described the illegal aliens as “low priority.”
In a statement sent to reporters on Tuesday, an ICE spokeswoman said that “possible sequestration” led them to release those illegal aliens.
"As fiscal uncertainty remains over the continuing resolution and possible sequestration, ICE has reviewed its detained population to ensure detention levels stay within ICE’s current budget,” ICE’s Gillian Christensen said. “Over the last week, ICE has reviewed several hundred cases and placed these individuals on methods of supervision less costly than detention. (See email from Gillian Christensen, ICE Statement.pdf)
“All of these individuals remain in removal proceedings,” Christensen said. “Priority for detention remains on serious criminal offenders and other individuals who pose a significant threat to public safety.”
“We’re getting reports from multiple detention centers in Texas, Florida and New Orleans where detainees who are low priority are being released in mass without bond,” Domenic Powell, a spokesman for the National Immigrant Youth Alliance, an immigration advocacy group, was quoted as saying in a McClatchy Newspapers report on Monday.
On Monday, during a press briefing at the White House, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano called the sequester a threat to national security.
“Threats from terrorism and the need to respond and recover from natural disasters do not diminish because of budget cuts," Napolitano said. "Even in the current fiscal climate, we do not have the luxury of making significant reductions to our capabilities without significant impacts."

Donna Brazile is upset that her health insurance premiums are going up

Donna Brazile
Donna Brazile is upset that her health insurance premiums are going up. In fact, she’s so upset that she decided to let the Twitterverse know yesterday:
This shouldn’t be a surprise. Jonathan Gruber, who is the architect of ObamaCare, admitted last year that the law wouldn’t hold down insurance premiums. And a Kaiser Family Foundation report noted that premiums had jumped by $2,370 since 2009 (ObamaCare was passed in March 2010).
The irony, however, is that Brazile, who managed Al Gore’s unsuccessful presidential campaign in 2000, was among ObamaCare’s biggest supporters. After it was passed, she told CNN that ObamaCare would “provide access to quality, affordable health care and reduce the federal budget deficit.”
She defended the law and played up the very parts of it that are driving up health insurance premiums. Not only that, but she wanted primary challenges for Democrats who didn’t support it.
Brazile is facing the same unfortunate reality that millions of Americans are staring down. It was reported at last month that insurance premiums would be going up in a number of states, by as much as 20%. Young Americans can expect to see a 42% premium hikethanks to ObamaCare’s age-rating restrictions. And to make matters worse, if the cost-cutting measures of ObamaCare don’t hold up, taxpayers could be on the hook for as much as $6.2 trillion.
With all due respect, Ms. Brazile. You supported ObamaCare. You helped sell it to Americans who are now being hit with premium increases. Don’t complain. Own it.

KNOW THE TRUTH BEHIND THE LIES COMING FROM OUR PRESIDENT AS HE ESCALATES HIS "LIAR IN CHIEF" TOUR

5 Sequester Facts to Know Before Committing Suicide

GREAT VIDEO..PLEASE WATCH AND SHARE....

To hear President Barack Obama tell it, the impending $85 billion in spending cuts to the federal budget known as the sequester are the worst disaster since Seth MacFarlane hosted the Academy Awards.

But before you dive deep into depression, here are five facts that should take the sting out of the sequester.

1. The Cuts Are Tiny!

The actual cuts in fiscal year 2013 are only $44 billion, according to the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). The rest don’t even take place until 2014 or later. Whether you use $44 billion or $85 billion we’re talking about 1 or 2 percent of total government spending.

2. Spending is Still Going Up!

Even with the sequester, the federal government is expected to spend more this year than it did last year. The government spent $3.5 trillion in 2012 and i expected to spend $3.6 trillion in 2013 (see Summary Table 1).

3. The Pentagon Won't Starve!

The largest chunk of cuts will come out of the defense budget, which has doubled over the past decade. The Pentagon will still have about $500 billion at its disposal, not counting war-related and emergency appropriations.

4. You Can't Cut Nonexistent Programs!

The White House’s Office of Management and Budget says the sequester will cut a whopping $2 million from the $20 million budget for the National Drug Intelligence Center. That sounds pretty bad - until you realize the Drug Intelligence Center closed its door in June 2012.

5. It Was All Obama's Idea!

The whole damn sequester was the Obama administration’s idea. As the Washington Post’s Bob Woodward has reported, despite Obama’s denials to the contrary, “the automatic spending cuts were initiated by the White House” as part of the deal to raise the debt limit back in August 2011.

So as members of the president’s cabinet and party rail against the draconian nature of the sequester and the unfairness of it all, it’s worth keeping in mind that these cuts are genuinely puny.

And that the president has nobody to blame but himself.

DAVID GERGEN SAYS HE BELIEVES THE PRESIDENT IS INTENTIONALLY HARMING THE COUNTRY

From Rush:
RUSH: So now we want to go back to the audio sound bites, and let's move forward here to audio sound bite number 14.

This is David "Rodham" Gergen last night on Anderson Cooper 69. Question: "It's kind of boggling the mind here that here we are facing yet another crisis, and congressional leaders aren't even meeting with the president 'til Friday when the cuts already take effect."

GERGEN: Americans are turned off and tuned out of what's going on. They are now increasingly saying, "Look, why can't both of these sides get together? That's what we thought we, uhh, voted for back in the election, and it's -- it's worse now than it was." I cannot remember a time when we've been so leaderless, that nobody is stepping up and taking the reins.

RUSH: Whoa! That would include Obama. You got David "Rodham" Gergen saying that Obama's is not acting like a leader, and this time around the American people are blaming him, not just the Republicans. That's what David "Rodham" Gergen is afraid is gonna happen. Here's what he says it in the next sound bite. Anderson Cooper says, "Is the president crying wolf over all of this?"

GERGEN: No, I don't think they're crying wolf. I think they're quite intentionally allowing cuts to go on that are gonna be painful, and that's what's irresponsible. It was this White House that proposed this bill with this rigidities built into it. They now come out and tell us, "Well, it is going to shut down the airline traffic. It's gonna make it impossible to travel. It's gonna shut down meat inspectors." For goodness' sakes, we gotta keep a carrier in port because of these tiny cuts? My goodness! The role of the president is first and foremost to protect the citizenry. Why put the country through the wringer? I think now the blame is shared on this one. I think the Democrats and the president deserve as much blame as the Republicans do on this one, and they both have a responsibility to get us out of this mess.

RUSH: That was last night on CNN. Has anybody seen David Gergen today? I haven't. Anybody seen him? This is unheard of. The president of the United States was just called out last night on CNN by David Gergen. He's basically saying this is not necessary. These cuts are minuscule. This is being done to purposely harm this country. The only saving grace that Gergen can rely on here is that he is sharing the blame. He's spreading the blame, including the Republicans in this. So that kind of takes Obama off the... well, takes the heat off him a little bit.

But, man, I mean, I don't think they're crying wolf. They're intentionally allowing cuts to go on that are gonna be painful, and that's what's irresponsible. It was this White House that proposed this bill with these rigidities built into it, and now they come and tell us, gonna shut down the airlines traffic, impossible to travel. Shut down meat inspectors. For goodness' sakes, gotta keep a carrier in port because of these tiny cuts? My goodness, the role of the president is to protect the citizenry. Why put the country through the wringer? Then he says, "I think the blame is shared on this one." Meaning, up until last night it was all the Republicans' fault. But now David "Rodham" Gergen's looking at this, and he... Look, the only conclusion you can come to here if you're gonna look at this honestly. This is all Obama.

Now, he can't admit that. But on this, this is all Obama. This is Obama's idea. Obama has discretion over what is and is not cut. It is Obama putting the country through the wringer. It is Obama inflicting pain for his own political gain. He is inflicting pain for the express purpose of seeing to it the Republicans get blamed for it. And Gergen now understands what's going on. Maybe he's understood it all along and is just now saying it, because it's gotten so ridiculous. And for somebody like Gergen who fashions himself as intellectually honest, he may have reached the wall here. He's no longer able to intellectually defend this from the standpoint of defending Obama.

And folks, he's dead right on this. None of this is necessary. These cuts are infinitesimal. There are areas of the budget that are filled with waste and fraud that he could cut. There are areas that don't impact very important things that he could cut, but he's choosing to say that he's going to cut these areas that are going to really make life more difficult. The reason he's doing this is because he knows the Republicans are going to get blamed for it. His sole objective is to eliminate any viable opposition. Mr. Gergen, in the first sound bite, says, "That's what we thought we voted for back in the election. Why can't both these sides get together?"

Mr. Gergen, if I may -- I don't know I don't have any credibility with you and the mainstream media in Washington, but there is no getting together. The Republicans and Democrats have not one thing in common in this sequester or the fiscal cliff or any other budget deal. There's not one thing the Republicans want that Obama wants, or vice versa. There is no overlapping of interests. And if there is, Obama does move the goalposts so that there isn't anything that overlaps.

Go back and look. John Boehner gave him as much revenue as he was asking for in one of the fiscal cliff deals, and that's when Obama upped the ante, wanted $500 billion more in tax increases, and Boehner walked away. There is no common ground. There will be no bipartisanship, because that's not what Obama wants. Folks, it's sad to admit this, but I've seen enough focus group data. The low-information voters do indeed want cooperation between the two parties. They really do. To them, that's golden. That's what they want, and that's precisely why it isn't gonna happen, because the ultimate objective of President Obama is continued chaos that he can blame on the Republicans.

At the end of the day he wants the chaos. He wants the unsettledness. He wants the unrest because he wants the Republicans blamed for it. He wants to be seen as the great compromiser. He wants to be seen as the guy trying to fix this. He wants to be seen as the man who's doing everything he can to fix these problems. But it's the Republicans. And that's why they got mad at Woodward, because Woodward accused them of moving the goalposts and making deals impossible. And that's why Sperling threatened Woodward, because Woodward gave up the game. Woodward explained for anybody paying attention what Obama's actually do. He's moving the goalposts. He's making a deal impossible. That's why Sperling threatened Woodward.

OBAMA'S RELEASE OF ILLEGALS 'IMPEACHABLE OFFENSE'

The Obama administration’s release of hundreds and potentially thousands of illegal-alien criminals from U.S. detention centers in connection with possible budget cuts is being called “an impeachable offense” by the nation’s highest-rated radio talk-show host.
“In what used to be considered – if we can remember this far back – normal, sane times, this is an impeachable offense,” broadcaster Rush Limbaugh said Wednesday. “This is action being taken against the country. … It is sheer madness to be doing this. It is petulant, it is childish.”
“This is in direct violation of the oath of office,” he continued. “Defend and protect the Constitution of the United States, and the people. We’re just opening the doors of prisons before the sequester has even happened. Before there have even been any budget cuts. This is so childish, except the consequences are real for people that live nearby these detention centers. This is on-the-ground, hard, cold reality.
“This is exacting harm on the country and it’s entirely unnecessary. None of these so-called budget cuts are necessary. None of this panic is necessary. It is not even going to be felt, in reality, if the sequester actually does happen.”
Limbaugh likened the president’s action to what happened in Iraq just before the U.S. invaded in the 1990s.
“That’s the kind of thing that [former Iraqi dictator] Saddam Hussein did,” he explained. “He just opened the doors to his jails and he let every reprobate that he was holding loose. He created total panic and havoc in Baghdad and throughout the country. That’s the kind of thing Obama’s done here.”
Limbaugh said the release of illegals was “clearly not in the best interests of anybody.”
“For the record, these illegals being released really are criminals; otherwise, they would never have been detained,” Limbaugh said. “It was the [Obama] regime that detained them in the first place. These are not Bush’s prisoners. These are Obama’s prisoners. They were detained and imprisoned by the regime in the first place. And let’s not forget, thanks to Obama’s executive orders, ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement), the immigration people, no longer detain any illegal aliens unless they’ve been convicted of a serious crime. That’s who we’re talking about here. You have to commit a serious crime before we detain you if you’re illegal. This isn’t just a bunch of discriminated-against freedom fighters that have been wrongly jailed finally seeing freedom.”
In Arizona, Pinal County Sheriff Paul Babeu told Fox News the move was a “mass budget pardon” and suggested the administration was going to unnecessary lengths to demonstrate the impact of the so-called sequester.
“President Obama would never release 500 criminal illegals to the streets of his hometown, yet he has no problem with releasing them in Arizona. The safety of the public is threatened and the rule of law discarded as a political tactic in this sequester battle,” Babeu said.
“Clearly, serious criminals are being released to the streets of our local communities by this mass budget pardon. These are illegals that even President Obama wants to deport. This is insane that public safety is sacrificed when it should be the budget priority that’s safeguarded,” he added.
ICE spokeswoman Gillian Christiansen told the Los Angeles Times, “All of these individuals remain in removal proceedings. Priority for detention remains on serious criminal offenders and other individuals who pose a significant threat to public safety.”
