The interview was sandwiched between clips of Black Lives Matter agitators parading down a public street, under police escort, to chants of “Pigs in a blanket, fry em like bacon,” the pigs being law enforcement officers and the blankets a euphemism for body bags. It’s evidence which completely refutes the arguments and claims of racist agitator Marc Lamont Hill during the course of his discussion with Sheriff David Clarke.
Sheriff Clarke is asked if he believes it is fair to link the murder of Deputy Darren Goforth to the Black Lives Matter organization. Sheriff Clarke absolutely believes it to be not only fair but deserved “in view of the anti-cop rhetoric that is sweeping the United States ofAmerica, fueled by this group, some of the vulgar, vile, vicious rhetoric that’s coming out, talking about killing cops.” Clarke says there is no doubt in his mind that the attacks across America are part of a pattern and that the latest murder of an innocent deputy was clearly “fueled by this vile, vulgar, slimy movement.”
The interviewer invites Marc Lamont Hill, who admits he’s advocated on behalf of the cop-vilification and targeting organization, into the discussion. He attempts to disassociate the group from the fruits of their labor, asking Sheriff Clarke if he believes that every murder of a police officer this year was in some way associated with Black Lives Matter.
Clarke says that is not his assertion but points to the increase in assaults on and killing of police officers, which may not be directly related, but are a result of the environment that this group and the criminal White House has played a role in creating. He says there is no longer any fear of attacking law enforcement officers, telling Hill, “You know what, if the shoe fits wear it.”
Hill successfully shifts the focus to a presumption of innocence after first having the shared racism against white people and the Ferguson and Baltimore police among the media, regime and race-baiters of America pointed out to him. He is not successful in his attempts to get Clarke to bite on the bait of prejudicial assumptions of guilt, but he uses that premise as the basis for lecturing the Sheriff, which for his agitator purposes is just as effective.
He also attempts to make a point that Black Lives Matter doesn’t take a position that police officers should be killed or demonized, a point that is indisputably refuted by the clip which opened and closed this interview.
After some back and forth, Hill characterizes police shootings as cops acting as judge, jury and executioner, a smear that Clarke doesn’t let him get away with. He forces Hill to backtrack on his broad implications, intentional as they were, to the safety of what he actually said. It’s a tactic that Hill uses often and one his is very good at, creating a perception while actually not saying what he asserted in his broad generalization.
Clarke further pins Hill by pointing out that “emotion and anecdote are not facts, Mark.”
Hill goes on to declare in a comparison of 24 deaths of black suspects versus 25 deaths of law enforcement officers, the deaths of the criminals is much more egregious than those of the cops who signed up for a dangerous job.
Sheriff Clarke calls him on that one too.
