The “Food Stamp” President actively encourages Mexican immigrants, legal or illegal, to get food stamps

There’s been a lot of news about food stamps since Obama became president. During the primaries, Newt Gingrich got pilloried for calling Obama the “Food Stamp” president, but he was right. In the last four years, the number of Americans on food stamps has swelled to 47,000,000 people. Some of those people landed on food stamps because of the endless Obama recession. Others are enjoying food stamps because of massive fraud that the administration lets go unchecked. And as we pointed out in an earlier report, many food stamps recipients arrived there because the Obama administration has been actively recruiting illegal immigrants for the food stamp program.
More information has now come to light showing just how aggressive the Obama administration’s push is to get Mexican nationals on American food stamps. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has printed up Spanish-language leaflets and distributed them to Mexican consulates across the United States.
The pamphlets contain detailed instructions for getting onto the food stamp program — and assure applications that they can do so without disclosing their immigration status.  On the pamphlets, in underlined, boldfaced type, the USDA announces in Spanish that “You need not divulge information regarding your immigration status in seeking this benefit for your children.”
US government tells illegal aliens how to get food stamps
The watchdog group Judicial Watch obtained the leaflet by submitting a Freedom of Information Act request. It’s not surprising that Judicial Watch had to work hard to get the pamphlet, considering that it directly contradicts the government’s claim on its English-language website that only U.S. citizens and other legal residents are entitled to food stamps.
According to Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton, “The revelation that the USDA is actively working with the Mexican government to promote food stamps for illegal aliens should have a direct impact on the fate of the immigration bill now being debated in Congress.”
The administration’s aggressive push to undermine American immigration and welfare laws, he said, “further confirm[s] the fact that the Obama administration cannot be trusted to protect our borders or enforce our immigration laws. And the coordination with a foreign government to attack the policies of an American state is contemptible.”
These revelations come at a problematic time for Democrats and the Obama administration. Both are pushing hard to pass an immigration “reform” bill that would give citizenship to up to 11 million illegal immigrants over the next decade or so. Because Hispanics have so far bought into the lie that their interests are aligned with Democrats, Democrats believe that this will give the Democrats a permanent voting majority.
Recent revelations about the Boston’s bombers’ immigration status, however, has made people look more carefully at American immigration laws. We know now that the Boston bombers entered the country by demanding asylum, and then floated back and forth through our borders to Russia, despite the fact that Tamerlan Tsarnaev and his mother were on terrorist watch lists. We know that Tamerlan, as a convicted felon, should have been deported. And finally, we know that the terrorist brothers funded their terrorist activities by living on welfare and dealing drugs.
What’s important for us to remember is that, contrary to Democrat claims that Hispanic voters should naturally side with Republicans, the opposite is true. When Hispanics come to this country, their values are pro-Life and pro-hard work. It’s only exposure to Leftists that changes these values – something that may explain why the Left is so desperate to get Hispanics who are here illegally onto welfare, to enroll them in ObamaCare, and to get their children into the Progressively-run American public school system. They’re buying Democrat votes with your tax dollars.
Republicans risk losing their political souls if they try to reclaim the Hispanic constituency by out-pandering the Left. What we need to do, instead, is to reach out to Hispanic communities and let them know that we share their core values. Moreover, we need to remind them that, if they hang onto their belief in hard work over welfare and family over state, they’re much more likely to achieve the American dream of economic independence. It’s the Democrat view will keep them mired in poor immigrant communities forever.
