Liberals IMPLODE as Trump plans repeal of Obama executive order on…
Since taking office, President Trump has been hard at work fulfilling his campaign promises. While some of the larger items on his agenda will take action by Congress, there’s plenty Trump can do by executive action. Just a month into office, Trump has used his executive authority on everything from regulations to immigration, proving he doesn’t plan to wait around for Congress to act.
Part of the reason Trump is able to accomplish so much via executive action is because his predecessor, President Obama, used executive orders liberally. Although the legality of most of Obama’s executive orders was dubious, the good news is that all of them can be undone by President Trump with the stroke of a pen. Of course, liberals have been fuming, but the executive order Trump plans to repeal next may send them over the top.
The Trump administration will rescind an Obama-era order compelling public schools nationwide to permit restroom and locker room access on the basis of gender identity, the Washington Blade reported.
The Blade cites Mara Keisling, executive director of the National Center for Transgender Equality, who says she heard from “reliable sources” that President Trump has authorized the Education and Justice Departments to revoke the guidance.
The Obama administration issued an edict in May forcing public schools nationwide to allow transgender students to use the restrooms, locker rooms and shower facilities of their choice. Noncompliant schools risked losing federal education funding.
Although the order was making its way through the court system and likely would have been ruled illegal, Trump isn’t waiting around for judges to decide. After all, the judicial system has already burned Trump once, he likely doesn’t want to see that happen again.
While liberals are likely to claim this is overreach by the Trump Administration, the federal government has no authority to mandate the bathroom policies of local schools. Far from being overreach by President Trump, the order would repeal the social agenda Obama tried to force on everyone.
If local school districts want to implement a bathroom policy similar to the Obama Administration’s order, they are free to do so via their local school boards or elected representatives. The White House has no business making those decisions for local communities, the Trump Administration seems to understand that.
