New York Governor Andrew Cuomo spent part of his press briefing on Friday telling millions of residents something they’ve known for years; saying “crime is compounding the problems in New York City.”

“Government has to perform. This is critical. It’s critical because the increase in crime is compounding the problems in New York City. You have CoVID, homelessness, people who are concerned about the economic viability, and you have an increase in crime,” said Cuomo.

“You are not going to have a strong economy if you don’t get the crime issue under control. I remember what it was like. The rate of crime, the strength of the economy, there’s a parallel. We have some problems we can’t figure out,” he added.

“Fighting crime, restoring relationships with the community, that we know how to do,” Concluded Cuomo.
