Press sec abruptly ends questioning when Fox News reporter brings facts on electric vehicles: 'All right. We're done'

Don't want to tell the truth so you end it??

Fox News reporter Peter Doocy called out the Biden administration on Thursday for pushing Americans to purchase electric vehicles as the inflation crisis decreases the purchasing power of their paychecks.

What is the background?

The Biden administration has celebrated record-high gas prices for accelerating the "incredible transition" from oil and gas to electric vehicles.

Since gas prices began spiking this spring, administration officials have repeatedly pushed for Americans to purchase electric vehicles. The problem is that electric vehicles are very expensive, and with the simultaneous inflation crisis, most Americans cannot dish out more than $60,000 for an electric vehicle.

What happened on Thursday?

Noting the "transition" that administration officials repeatedly praise, Doocy asked press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre at the daily press briefing whether President Joe Biden is comfortable forcing Americans through a "painful transition."

"A lot of people can’t afford a $60,000 electric car, and they also are having a hard time affording gas right now. That sounds like a painful transition," he said. "So how much of that kind of pain is the president OK with?"

In response, Jean-Pierre praised the transition because it will "create jobs"and "give families some tax credits."

"But right now, who can afford an electric car? The average price is $61,000," Doocy fired back. "Is that a realistic? Is that the choice: $5.00-a-gallon gas or a $61,000 electric car?"

The rebuttal must have irritated Jean-Pierre, because she promptly ended Doocy's questioning after accusing him of comparing apples and oranges.

"First of all — that’s apples and oranges," she said, before pushing a temporary suspension of the gas tax.

"It is going to make a difference," Jean-Pierre claimed. "We’re talking about 18 cents on the federal level; we’re talking about an average of 30 cents on the state level. And if the oil refinery does their job, if they do what we are asking them to do, which is put their profits back in so that gas prices can go down — that’s almost $1.00 per gallon. That matters."

"All right. We’re done," she said bluntly.
