The FBI is back: Foiling monster bombing plot by leftists in Los Angeles

Back during the Biden administration, the FBI appeared to be solely focused on rounding up conservatives. At the same time, all kinds of other crimes in their mandate -- spies, terrorism, blue-city corruption -- showed little evidence of activity or results.

Obviously, that allowed the crazies on the left to grow in number and get bolder in their plans, but the results seen now suggest some impressive corrective work. It looks like the FBI -- and the many law enforcement agencies that helped them -- is back.

According to the Washington Free Beacon:

The FBI foiled a New Year's Eve terrorist plot, arresting four members of a radical anti-Israel extremist group accused of planning five coordinated bombings across Los Angeles, the Department of Justice announced Monday. The scheme involved painting Hamas triangles near their targets, and photos show "Free Palestine" stickers scattered across bomb-making stations, according to a criminal complaint.

The complaint indicates that Audrey Illeene Carroll, Zachary Aaron Page, Dante Gaffield, and Tina Lai—who were charged by federal prosecutors with conspiracy and possession of unregistered destructive devices following their Friday arrest—hold significant ties to the anti-Israel movement. They belong to the Turtle Island Liberation Front (TILF), "an anti-capitalist, anti-government movement" centered around militant, anti-Israel rhetoric and open endorsement of violence.

The Beacon speculated that a possible target of the plots was an Israeli defense company called Elbit, which has already been subject to violence in Los Angeles, when another group of dirtbags this month interrupted a presentation by an Elbit official who was explaining to Koreatown's residents how they can defend themselves from thugs.

Two lowlifes, names unknown, from something called Nodutdol, which is a pro-North Korea group with lots of the same Native American pretensions and obsession with Palestine as the Turtle Island group, got themselves arrested -- one for smashing a vase in a synagogue full of Koreantown Koreans and others interested in the presentation, and the other for spitting on a police officer. I don't see a full connection, but the coincidences are interesting.

The TILF people arrested in the act of making bombs in the Mohave desert were these four charmers, and reportedly, a confederate involved in another plot in New Orleans:

The hog-faced woman on the far left, Audrey Illeene Carroll of south Los Angeles, was apparently the mastermind of the plot, writing out the game plan for blowing up five Jewish locations on New Year's eve across Los Angeles at once, based on the affidavit, a summary of which can be read here.

She called it "Operation Midnight Sun," and had big plans for another bombathon on ICE facilities scheduled for January or February. Her merry gang of terrorists went all over the Los Angeles area (which is big, real big) to pick up this and that thing for the purposes of making bombs -- West Covina, Irvine, Pico-Robertson, and other places, as the lawmen followed them around, and then they went to the desert together to practice blowing things up.

Carroll also seemed to be involved in making jewelry for sale at Code Pink street fairs for $3 and $4 a pop, with plastic block letter beads that spelled out things like F*** America," "Deny, Defend, Depose," "Hunt billionaires," "Kill Nazi scum," "Pretty girls riot" [Memo to Carroll: So do ugly ones], "Play with napalm," "Revolutionary b****," "Less talk, more riot," "Eat fascists," and of course, "Turtle island," the name of her terrorist cult group with Native American pretensions. The artistic oeuvre can be viewed here

And here -- they found this in her home, according to the affidavit:

She must have spent hours on it, honing her artsy-craftsy "skills."

The second one in the line-up, Aaron Page of Torrance, is reportedly a trans individual, no doubt with a bad case of trans rage. Carroll seemed to plot with him the most, based on what was read in the affidavit.

The third loser, Tina Lai, of Glendale, ran errands for the group, buying what they wanted to make bombs. and saving the receipts, which the lawmen found during a search of her home, according to the affidavit.  At the age of 41, she was the oldest fool in the group, and a little old to be doing this, but crazed leftists don't notice these things.

The fourth clown, though, Dante Gaffield of south Los Angeles, was active in student council politics at his community college, Cerritos College in Norwalk. He served as student body president, and prior to that was the "Director of Sustainability" and then on the "Committee of Safety." The affidavit said he had a stolen taser from the U.S. Federal Protective Service in his home, which ought to lead to another story. He's also the handyman, having set up the tent in the desert for the girls, or "girl," and girls, as the case may be.

Here is a screenshot from ABC 7's report of their operation in the desert, complete with tents and tables for assembly of the bombs, which is where the lawmen scooped the group up in the act of making them, and then filed charges:

Here's what the lawmen say was the bomb-making table. The bottles on the table apparently aren't refreshments for a day in the desert, they're the makings of Molotov cocktails. Eat your heart out, Bill Ayers.

And what was planned with all that Christmas-elf-labor together was a truly vile plan.

I can't tell what the places they intended to bomb were, and the Beacon could only come up with the name Elbit, which might not have much of an office at all in Los Angeles -- the Wikipedia says the list of its offices in the U.S. is incomplete, but nothing comes up in a search for Elbit in L.A. The address the Korean protestors listed seemed to be the synagogue that was invaded and vandalized by these leftists where the Elbit official was speaking. Elbit, being Israelis cognizant of security, if they really do have an office in L.A. might be calling it something else or it might be a temporary maildrop, or an office inside another office.

But there were targets, and they employed a crummy little red triangle sticker system for all the places on their bombing wishlist, just like Hamas does.

Based on the affidavit, which mentions locations, very likely, it was my old neighborhood, where I used to live less than ten years ago, known as the Pico-Robertson, which has been subject to many assaults and attacks by leftists over the past few years.

The affidavit has this:

16. At approximately 11:30 p.m., FBI agents conducting surveillance saw CARROLL depart the downtown Los Angeles location with Co-Conspirator 2, and followed them to a motel in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood of Los Angeles, more than ten miles away from the downtown location where they were first dropped off. FBI surveillance saw Co-Conspirator 2 shortly thereafter with no passengers in their car, which indicated that CARROLL had been dropped off at the motel.

Gee, what were they doing there?

The neighborhood they picked, though, is very telling.

According to Google AI:

Recent incidents in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood of Los Angeles involving attacks on Jewish individuals and properties include a 2023 shooting case, violent clashes during protests in 2024, and vandalism of Jewish-owned businesses in late 2024.

2023 Shootings
In February 2023, two Jewish men were shot in separate, but related, incidents while leaving synagogues in the Pico-Robertson area. Both victims, who were wearing yarmulkes, survived the attacks.
  • Perpetrator: Jaime Tran was arrested shortly after the second shooting and charged with federal hate crimes. Tran had a history of making antisemitic remarks to former classmates.
  • Outcome: In September 2024, Tran was sentenced to 35 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to two counts of hate crimes and firearms offenses.

2024 Incidents
The area has seen further tension and incidents throughout 2024:
  • Synagogue Clashes: In June 2024, violent clashes erupted outside the Adas Torah synagogue between pro-Palestinian and pro-Israeli counter-protesters. The confrontation involved physical fighting and the use of bear spray, leading to multiple police reports and one arrest for possession of a prohibited item.
  • Business Vandalism: In November 2024, police investigated incidents of vandalism against at least six businesses in the Pico-Robertson neighborhood as possible hate crimes, the majority of which were Jewish-owned.
  • Increased Patrols: The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) has increased patrols and visibility in the Pico-Robertson area, particularly around Jewish institutions, in response to these and other incidents and a general rise in antisemitism nationwide.

Having lived there, I know the neighborhood is loaded with Orthodox Jews, who have lots and lots of small children in intact two-parent families. (And yes, they vote like you think.) Pico-Robertson is also loaded with synagogues and temples, and has been subject to three previous assaults by terrorist-minded dirtbags similar in thinking to the four who were picked up. This lively synagogue was attacked by these antisemite thugs -- notice how many of their events offer child care for attendees.

The bottom line here is that the FBI, and the law enforcement agencies it shared credit with foiled a huge mass-casualty event that may have involved the lives of many children. That's what they're paid for, but it's also great heroism. It's impressive work with all kinds of coordinated survillance that outwitted the sneaky crew they ended up slapping the cuffs on. While they only face 15 years in the can for all of their offenses, if convicted, I hope they get all 15. We don't need more Bondi Beaches, or FARC-style bombings.
